Paul wrote this song about his relationship drama at the time. It's a pretty personal song, so I reckon none of us can fully understand it. I love the background vocals as well!
The harmony vocals in this song are just insane. I REALLY dig this middle-phase Beatles music.
Lol, Paul was going through some things. His (young actress) girlfriend worked in traveling theatre groups and wasn’t always available to see him when they came off the road. “We have lost the time that was so hard to find.”
Jane and Paul had a lot of problems. She was an actress pursuing her career. Which is completely understandable. But Paul wanted a wife and children. Of course, I don't know them personally and I sure as heck wasn't there. But, by all reports they simply couldn't meet each other's needs. Paul wanted her by his side. She would be packing up to do an acting gig. They fought about it a lot. Which was unfair to Jane. Maybe Paul loved her but he wasn't in love with her. He had always been prolific sexually. Not good for a relationship. But Jane was aware of what he was doing. So she was staying with him with full knowledge of his actions. Still, it was just as frustrating to Paul as it was to Jane and Paul put his feelings into his songs. This was one when they'd fought again. Once they broke up, he met Linda. They fell in love and he adopted her six year old daughter, and he and Linda had 3 more children of their own. They were together 29 years until she died of breast cancer. But she was by his side in good times and bad. After the Beatles broke up, Paul fell into a depression. He drank heavily and wouldn't get out of bed. But she was there for him; something Jane wouldn't have been able to do. Linda coaxed him back into the studio and he began to make music again. Interestingly, even with his past history of seeing multiple women at the same time before he got married, (except with Linda) he was the only one of the band that was completely monogamous. He took his vows seriously.
The Beatles wrote and recorded songs that would have been career-making hits for any other performer, and just buried them on albums because they had THAT many bangers.
she wont answer the phone so he cannot speak to her , and obviously has no idea why.
Paul is singing about his breakup with girlfriend Jane Asher.
I dont think i have managed to catch a video with 0 on all stats since like 2014 haha. But i cant help but jump in and see someone discover one of the under appreciated great classics
I was born in '61, and listened to them all the years growing up. Great childhood memories growing up, thanks for sharing ❤️
I was born in 67 so I missed the boat the first time around, but became a fan in the 70s. My parents had some of their albums. Later on I bought more some on LP and CD'S ..Long live the Fab 4 !!!
What a giant drop of ear candy. From the harmony in the vocals to the fantastic percussion to the insane bass line. Just chills the whole way through.
Such an underrated song.
I’ve always loved this song. The entire album is phenomenal. In fact, their whole catalogue is stunning! You got it right when you say “There’s no such thing as a bad Beatles song”. Great background vocals in this one. 🌺✌️
Anne Murray covered You Won't See Me in 1975 and hit #1 on the pop chart. Well worth reviewing!
I LOVE to see the Beatles music being experienced by other folks.
as a diehard beatles fan, these sorts of videos make me feel really happy and fuzzy inside, as they remind me of the first time when i heard those songs
Haven't thought about this song in years. It's another great Beatles' song!
yes indeed........ love those back vocals
The Beatles are a gift to the world and life without The Beatles, it would be a sad world.
One of Paul’s best and that’s saying a lot. Enjoyed your reaction.
