I have been watching baseball since about 1969-70ish and I can't ever recall this many missed calls on balls and strikes. Look, no guess work, no consistency BS, there is in fact a strike zone based on the rulebook so use it. Players are only going to get a hit 25% or less most of the time anyway. They balked about the shift because most can't adjust with the bat. Take that away, now pitchers are throwing their arms away. TJ Surgery is up 1000 percent. I know, all that matters is getting the call right. Well, what about human error, human judgment, the imperfections that make it a little more interesting. See the ball hit the ball, the velocity does most of the work. Home Runs are so great? What about the hitters who move base runners, guys at 3rd with less than two outs? See most of those strikeout now. It isn't a game it's a show of guys standing on a field inside a multi-billion dollar state of the art stadium. In three hours you have maybe 15 minutes of pure action. The rest is idle crap either on the field or scoreboard. Or some roaming camera waiting to show the next ugly with a Nacho smile eating a $12 hotdog and drinking several $15 lukewarm beers. Then they drive home at 11-12 at night.

Some umpires really have short fuses. They look for an excuse to kick a player out of a game.

This has got to be the year that someone takes control of these bush league umpires. This is starting off to be a disaster season.
If umpires don’t want to be touched and yelled at they shouldn’t touch and yell at players when they make bad calls or ego calls
If the umpire touches the player then this means that the player should accept it and move on even if he doesn't like it.
