According to the crossover book, the narrators are actual physical people, they just live in “narrator land”
Well, in the Shanon Hale ones it’s specifically mentioned that they are bodiless voices, as Kitty manages to scratch the narrator and they don’t know how it happened. I guess it depends on which canon you personally like best since the books and TV show are technically the same but also aren’t at all. Like, I love them both, but they’re very different

15:23 There actually was an ever after high choose your own adventure (kinda)! It was in the book “the legend of shadow high” where Brooke narrates the story and the reader has to think of a story and choose different paths to help her defeat the villain, an evil narrator called Ms Direction. I loved this so much when I first read it, and as Brooke is one of my favourite characters in EAH, it made it a lot better :)

Does anyone remember the Coraline looking dolls Lalaloopsy? The toy line had webisodes. I still remember my first two dolls the nurse and the cowgirl, they kicked off my collection. My mother was terrified of them because of the button eyes. Maybe a video on that lore could be fun.

Honestly, I just always assumed the White Rabbit made up the prophecy to make the girls seem important or give them confidence for their journey or whatever. Made the scene make more sense to me, plus more amusing lol
I remember back in the day on tumblr the animators of the show constantly interacted with fans and some of them made fanarts of the show, they loved the show so much that they inserted themselves on the show as background characters

As an American: I just thought "Through The Looking Glass" was the British name for Alice In Wonderland, not that it was an entirely different book, and I feel that A LOT of others might have thought the same. I think even in school when we watched Through The Looking Glass we all thought it was Alice In Wonderland (because it was), since our teacher didn't really inform us of any difference.
I’ve heard of Through The Looking Glass, but I’ve never read it. I didn’t realise the White Knight was from that book. Granted I never Alice In Wonderland either and have only seen the bastardised movies.
I'm sure this will be addressed in the third part but something I hated after Way Too Wonderland was since they didn't really know what to do with the Royal/Rebel stuff you can tell the writers definitely preferred writing for the rebels, especially Raven and especially in Dragon Games. I got into the series earlier this year and I can't stand how my girl Apple was treated in that special (granted some of it was deserved but not nearly as hard). It's a fine special but I couldn't shake that feeling that no one on the writing staff understood Apple or her previously established struggles.
I think Kitty also rocks her Spring Unsprung look. Like the colour palette & the pigtails are perfection. But then also Way to Wonderland are some of the best looks. I would sell my soul for one.

Also, I'm super excited to hear you talk about Darling Charming!!! I loved her character in the books, so when she finally made an appearance in the show I was a little nervous. But she blew my expectations out of the water! Also I'm totally gay for lady knights, so that broke my 15 y/o brain! :)
Could you do a video on the whole royal and rebel divide? Because what always confused me during the run of the show was what those two categories even mean! Like early on its presented as royals are heroes and rebels are villains, but as the series goes on it seems like there's more to it than that.
Goldie is concerned she can't be a royal because she doesn't have royal blood even though she wants to follow her destiny. Briar and Ashlyn are of royal blood, but they don't want to follow their destiny so they're rebels. But with these examples, they're still the kids of the protags, so wouldn't they still be considered royal regardless of how they follow their destiny?
And then what about the kids who are villains and do want to follow their destiny? Faebelle genuinely wants to be evil and isn't rebelling against her destiny, but is considered a rebel. Same with Maddie too.
The school also divides their classes into Royal and Rebel as a kinder way to say good or evil, but as mentioned, this doesn't make sense as not all the Rebels are rebelling and not all the Royals are of royal blood!
So yeah, I personally feel like there's a lot to talk with the whole "are you a royal or a rebel" and what that means both to the characters and to the world building. So maybe once you're done with the overall story of EAH this may be another video topic.
Anyways, I like the deep dives!
royal and rebel refer to whether someone believes people should have to follow their destinies. ashlynn and briar both start off as royals and then become more rebellious (although i think ashlynn is the only one who officially becomes a rebel/"roybel"). faybelle is a royal, duchess is also a royal even though she doesn't like her destiny, maddie and cedar are rebels even though they like theirs. in the books the royal/rebel divide is preceded by a royal/commoner divide, and raven generally hangs out with the commoners even though she is technically royal. (i have not read the book in a while)
Thank you for pointing out that the queen of hearts and the red queen are different people in Alice in Wonderland and Alice through the looking Glass. Also the tweedle Dee and tweedle dumb thing.

No worries, I liked Way Too Wonderland a lot too. Sometimes we just have different opinions.
Enough can't be said about how hard the animators & cast went at this. They could have easily just half-assed it and made some generic show about fashion and whatever. But they swung for the fences. Cupid's insane obsession with Dexter was hilarious. Apple's childish narcissism was used perfectly and was even given a real explanation later.
There's a doll diary (I think it's Kitty's) that explains that when the portals to Wonderland were about to be sealed Kitty, Maddie, Alistair and Bunny were about to cross safely to Ever After, but Kitty refused to leave without Lizzie so they went back for her to the castle, where her mom had her locked in "to protect her" (the curse was making her get overly paranoid). Kitty manages to break Lizzie out, but the lose Alistair and Bunny in the chaos and that's how they end up staying behind.
If we had a mashup of Raven's cool outfit from Dragon Games with the Evil Queen at the end and Raven's evil side from WTW, my whole life would be complete and I can die in peace.
Brooke in my opinion was made by the narrators have a thought child like in Percy Jackson with Athena’s children.
There is something about ever after high where, when you engross yourself into its lore, you can see a strange type of darkness under its underlying sugarcoated sweetness. One of the reasons I worry about a potential reboot is that underlying darkness would get defanged.
For the voting thing, there was videos for each of the ones you could vote for that showed what would have happened if one of the other contestants won I believe.
Okay so, tangent, hearing him talk about Alice in Wonderland as a series is always so cool and I really really want him to cover American McGee's Alice and Madness Returns so badly cause I adore that interpretation and really want to see what he'd make of the story and characters and such.

Yo I wasn't ready to be hit with this level of nostaligia today, but this deep dive was so well done. Also yeah I distantly remember when I stumbled across EAH in high school, being able to find the full special on CZcams. Kids now a days don't know how good they have it being able to just find everything in order on Netflix. Looking forward to the future deep dives!!!

Im so glad that I’m not the only one who didn’t understand who faybell’s parents were. I remember when I was younger I just thought she was a random character so I didn’t put a lot of thought into it. But when I rewatched it in the last season (Minor spoiler) when the characters went to sleeping beauties castle they were talking about important rooms. And faybell said “Theres a more important room in our story” while talking to Briar. I got got so confused I looked it up and it made more sense (sorry English isn’t my first language)

Way To Wonderland and Dragon Games were two personal favorites of mine, I love them both for the costuming and the color scheme
hi there! if you liked ever after high, youll really like this indie series here on youtube. it's called gods' school, and it's about the Greek gods, but in a high school setting there are only 6 episodes out, ranging from 4 to 14 minutes, and releases slowly, due to only one animator in the project, but it's really good! Why not both? Gingerbread man as a dad, witch from hansel and gretel as a mum. Since the show is basically dead and characters only refer to their most famous parent/parent they are following. Raven calls herself the daughter of the evil Queen not the daughter of the evil Queen and good king. So since ginger is following her mums destiny she just calls herself the daughter of the candy witch
I loved Spring Unsprung so much, the Wonderlandians were my favourites (both as dolls and as characters) I’m still mad I could never find Alistair as a doll though. And Courtley was too expensive for me at the time :(

As someone who read both Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through The Looking Glass, both stories had very obvious differences but held the same feeling no matter which book you were introduced first. So I get where a lot of the confusion came from, and both books were marvelous and I enjoyed thoroughly reading them both.
You see when a mommy narrarator and a daddy narrarator love each other very much...
In Netflix there isn’t all the episodes like there was a episode that introduces a lot of characters like darling charming when she pretends to be daring to attend to saving a princess classes

I don't remember where I read this, maybe a fanfiction, but I read a better reason for why Milton Grimm is so insistent on people following there destinies, and why Giles Grimm disagrees. Let me explain.
So historically, The Brothers Grimm took already existing stories and rewrote them into mainstream. So the idea then, is that Milton Grimm can't let go of those stories and wants their brilliance to continue to exist, while Giles Grimm thinks it's time for new stories to be written. Milton can't move on and leave the past in the past, and Giles has already moved on and wants to move forward.
I think it sounds better and definitely makes more sense.

I think the worst narrative choice they made was dropping the original intent for Apple to be a truly villainous character. Raven being the true Snow White just makes more sense and Apple is so good when she's being terrible.

My favorite character among the ladies was probably Cerise and Faybelle. Raven Queen was a pretty great character too. There were many great characters in this series!

If you found Way to Wonderland disappointing but really liked Spring Unsprung I really recommend the third instalment of the book series. I think it’s called Wonderlandish World. It expanded on everything Spring Unsprung did well and really improved upon the shortcomings in WtW. It was my favorite of the books.
But can you imagine being one of the Wonderland kids and going from a lot of studying in 3 days and transferring to a normal school with 180 days?

Raven might have won but from what I remember there were different regions (memory is a bit blurry cause it’s been a long time but I can remember there being different regions like America & Europe there were more but this is the best of my recollection), anywho thanks to the different regions Apple won the homecoming as well in the Europe region, Raven won on the American region
Another game I remember was when I played as the Cheshire Cat’s daughter, Kitty, to save both wonderland and the EAH dimension and to restore color. I don’t remember the gameplay, I just remember my young self enjoying it and playing it over and over again haha
ever after high js has a thing where it makes me love it sm, the storyline and just how they portray it, and since all of them are children of fairytale charecter they’re so much history and underlying secrets, honestly glad there isn’t a reboot since it just wouldn’t be the same and i just don’t feel like it would be as enjoyable as there older episodes

Turns out the class schedules are in Riddlish and the customary supplemental materials that go around, rather than a detailed diary pertaining to the immediate plot like usual, is a first-person mini-story about about the given character taking a minute or two to crack a riddle and piece together what class they have attend.

After the Book was sign: Raven is converted as Evil. Raven uses a clip-page Section: Tare-off Divider Spell to Scattered Each Page in the hands of Every Royal or Rebel. Their's and Raven's (Own story) is to be no longer to be Spell-Binding and under the Book Cover's Control.
Pages might be winkled and Burned into ash however the Book Bind Description is Everlasting. The Book Cover is empty without the Page control of Souls. The Depleted Book Cover is thrown in a Soggy Socked; Wishing well; not to Return Again.
The Book Cover need Pages in order to Relive: Story Tales:
of their Historical Parents. A Continuous Written
Books perhaps is not their's or their Children's Legacies Future.

But being a rebel doesn't mean villain, a rebel is someone who doesn't want to follow their destiny, and Lizzie wants to become the next Queen of hearts
@@jojo-xk8ri my interpretation of Lizzie is that she likes being the future Queen of Hearts because she is an antagonist, but she also doesn't really truly hurt anyone outside of some playing cards. She just threatens a lot ad Lizzie seems fine doing just that
The way to wonderland part I liked was when the Red knight shows up and captures them, the girls ask the White knight why they didn't do anything and they say it's because it wasn't their turn. I thought it was cute and clever but that's about it.
What's funny is that the red knight is played by the same voice actor of Kaeya who is a calvary captain of the knights
I just love your energy in these videos, very engaging (also this is gonna bug me if I don't say it, but I think the phrase is 'the crux of' not 'the crutch of') but that phrasing does provide some clever wordplay like that concept was supporting the whole show
