That was great. I enjoyed Allen's commentary when ESPN broadcast 9-Ball games in the 80s.

Lived in no. Va. and played at Jack & Jills many times and saw Crane beat Lassiter in the final 4 of a straight pool tourn. in the 60s. Great fun and memories.

Beanie along with Leo got robbed in Johnson City. One night in the middle of the week I walked into the place and it was untypically dead, Beanie comes running out of the tournament room asking if I had any money on me. I had $1,625, he took it all, and bet it on the next game against a black player named Jerry from N.J., who had him broke and Devillier out looking for more money. Crazy Jerry was looking for the door with the
$7-9000 he was ahead. Beenie won 8 games in a row and broke Jerry! Charlie came back with some money during the second game, and when we went into the office to straighten up the money, Beanie asked what he owed me, Charlie, like the low class he was, voiced an opinion that I shouldn't get anything. I told Beenie to give me the "garbage" (1's-5-10-20"s)
which came to about $330 as I recall, which was about right, for I would have been betting $40 a game myself if he hadn't taken it all.
