NBD, but Bill Staton was Weenie Beenie.

Ma'am thank you so much for posting these gems. Please don't not take this wrong but I just wanted you to know it's pronounced "puh-WAHL-ski" but spelled P-a-w-e-l-s-k-i. Thank you again ma'am. The only reason I bring this up is if old family and friends look people up on the internet, one 'lil Ole spelling error' could mean missing out on great memories for those poor folks. Keep on posting ma'am and thank you very much. 🍀♦️🎱💰🏁🤗❤️💪
JA one of the greatest pool players in history
HE NAILED IT!
The tournament that Grady referred to was where Petie Fusco beat Billy Incardona in the finals, even though Incardona was the 7 ball over Fusco. Incardona was supposed to win, and a big money match, (which was a set-up to take a real estate man off) couldn't happen because Billy didn't win.
Awesome compliments
For those who had no idea of who Red Jones was, he owned pool rooms in Florida and Bladensburg , Md, where Dick Helmstetter was making his first line of cues, before going to Chicago with the Chaulk Co. It in Bladensburg where Red showed me his original plans for what became known as Jack & Jills, Weenie Beanie's Pool Room, Red was the original partner, but dropped out for some reason.
By the way, Grady doesn't have any idea what he was talking about! Lassiter, "Rags" Fitzpatrick and Taylor were all born in 1918, all these clows on this video never saw Rags play, who spotted Taylor 9-8 in one pocket, and played him banks taking 9-8 both games were even. In 1960 when he died, Rags was considered the best all-around. All that ended when Harold Worst the Three Cushion World Champion, started playing all others games and destroyed everybody, then he died two years latter at 37 years old of a brain tumor.
Beenie emanated John "Rags" Fitzpatrick as far a how he dressed, and presented himself around the pool room. Rags died 1960 right after Beenie hit his stride and won the money in Hot Springs. Rags was #1 one pocket & all around at the time died @ 41 was Beenie's idol.
This interview sure brings back memories of Vince and Liela. It was the mid to late '80s that I knew them. Any time there was side action Vince was probably involved.
Speaking of Fats b.1913, in 1972 Beanie b.1928 won the One Pocket tournament in Las Vegas, and came second in the All-Around... Then Fats took every dime he won, and what he brought with him playing One-Pocket. I believe knowing Fats, Beenie gave him a ball 9-8
Which hole wins a date with one of the ladies?
Thanks daughter for posting these. Love hearing these stories.
Last!
I got drunk with Jimmy at Shooter in Oleatha KS one night I was drinking beer he was drinking Grand Marniere When they brought the tab. Jimmy said I’m broke brother lol He was a stone cold maggot
PBF standing by his side !
That’s real hustler advice to never agree- maybe too good…l’m embarrassed to hear it…
Thank you so so much for sharing these videos! Your Dad was an absolute legend, and these road stories need to be told, thanks again
I encourage you to improve the audio/ video quality of these offerings. If it is worth doing, it is worth doing well. This is meant constructively.
The footage was filmed with a handheld camera with no mics. It cannot be fixed beyond making the volume louder or softer. Unfortunately it is what it is with these clips. - the video editor -
I love hearing these stories. Bucky Bell in Lansing Michigan is a walking road story encyclopedia. Maybe you can get him while he's still alive with all of his faculties. He's 83 and sharp as a tack, but we all age out eventually.
CJ will have this out soon......
i would have gave anything to be on the road with him and fats . world champion pbf .
"Leo the Lion", a Alexandria Va shortstop, was with Beenie in Johnson City when the got robbed.
I remember Leo he was pretty good on a cracker box he hung in the white owl on Richmond hwy
She never heard that story for a reason. I bet that broke her heart to find out her dad was robbed at gunpoint
Great stories… thanks for sharing! Please keep them coming!
Being robbed at gun point ain’t fun it has happened twice to me once in Waldorf MD and once in Alexandria VA
Are you still being robbed or did you learn to be aware of your surroundings how? I realize some people just don't have that skill
@@godjhaka it wasn’t that I didnt know my surroundings its was just when they came back to gamble with more money 💰 they didn’t like losing again
Pool ain’t the same the 70s were the best era in pool for me anyway
I'm glad Johnny Played those guys even because if he had lost he may not have paid. Ain't that right Oscar? Yep!! Dats Correct!
That's actually easy if Jimmy l would have told me that. I would have said yeah you're right 50 million think you're better than me and only 50 think I'm better than you so why are you scared.😅
BEAUTIFUL
This dude is so trashed in this video. Look at his eyes. He’s such a bum and can’t shoot a lick anymore. He needs to go home and hide
Can anyone tell me what the hell "not poker" is???
My brother Buzz played George Brunt in 82 at Spatz' poolroom just outside a Orlando,Fl. They broke even after 8 hours of 9 ball
I never knew Buzz that I know of....I was gone from Florida by 1982 ....did play at Jimmy's and Spatz when in the area though.... George was a nice guy, great player, and dressed well..... yup
@@DeeMoback He said to me:U gotta play at least a $100 worth.I cracked up! I said, George,do u need a hundred? I'll GIVE u a hundred, lol. For the 1st 2 hours he never even got on the WRONG SIDE of a ball! We almost pulled up cuz Buzz wasn't getting to shoot!
Great video 😊
Man i can't imagine having to shoot straights in a tuxedo. I'm sure they hated having to wear that. Having to reach long shots. But they made it look easy. Thanks for sharing all these great videos.
The question I would've asked his is how did he fit his ego in that tiny room? 😊 RIP Jimmy.
Dang!!! Pretty Boy Floyd looks better now than he did 30 - 40 yrs ago! Glad Jimmy is still with us!
He left us earlier this year.
He recently passed away.
@@thedevilinthecircuit1414 WHHHAAAAAHHHHHHHHHT?!!! 😭
He just passed . 😮
If his mouth was moving, he was lying, he never beat a soul
He beat plenty of the top players in the 70s and 80s , and he was the king of the ring games, with all the best players back then. He wasn't the best ever, by a long ways, but he could play with most of them , until he lost the desire. I watched him play many times, some time in the mid 80s, he saw the writing on the wall and just showed up out of habit for a while longer. I was not a fan of the guy, but he could play when he was motivated.

Thanks so much for these interviews. PURE GOLD
Jimmy was a slickster, old school pool hall player, RiP champ!🎱
"air BARRELL'---hahaha-- rest easy PrettyBoy... thank you for sharing.
remember George Brunt?..... and Weaver?? .....so many are forgotten
Great job Gwynn, keep them coming!!!!
I will just getting through the digital. then im going to the old vhs tapes those are the precious ones!
Excellent 👍
What did he say? Beenie was the only outsider who left the rack with the money? Richie Ambrose won $90,000, his end was $30,000. He took the $30,000 and opened up a pool room in the Detroit area (I believe) He told me he kept it for several years and was taking $1000 plus a week out of it. Sold ? it, packed up and moved to Las Vegas where he stayed broke on the Crap Tables the rest of his life!
Keep the history coming!
I miss Grady so much.... he was one of the really good guys....treated me very well always.....I even enjoyed listening to his many verbal extravaganzas....he did so much to further the game.....truly was a great loss to the world when he left
No truer words weenie Beanie was a true gentleman.wold love to hear more about that Earl Strickland story 😝 lol beanie put the old Earl Shriver moves on Earl the pearl
ill see what i can dig up in the libraries. i;m sure i got an interview somewhere, working through a lot of material Thank you for supporting old pool stories!
