- Can You Beat ARMS Without Moving? Our challenge today is to take on ARMS's No Move Challenge! Today, we're finding out if ARMS is possible with no left joystick presses, no jumps, and no dashes. In a game so focused around ARMS, so many moves require legs - and we're having none of that! So, if we're to beat Nintendo's ARMS without ever moving, we'll have to only play on the offensive for our punches. Hey! So in the mini game where you punch targets, if you use motion controls with 2 joycons, you can actually curve one of your punches without moving! Just thought you or anyone else might wanna know if they plan on trying this challenge.

I just did the same thing
Even the developer, who played against the winner of an ARMS tornament (before the game released) had trouble against a camping master mummy.
He used charged ARMS attacks, which attacks from the side to not be countered, but master mummy out healed the chip damage.
Then he tried to come closer (to reduce the reaction time of the opponent) and use a grab to get through the shield, but the opponent instantly countered with a punch.
Because of that I thought master mummy would be meta, but almost nobody plays him.
Well I mean it is called ARMS not LEGS

You did that on level 7?! That's impressive! I've never played Punch Out, but I've played ARMS, and Level 7 is TOUGH, even *with* moving.
About 80% of Punch Out is tough as nails and hard, but oh god is it fun

I've really loved this game from when it came out and played it a lot over the past few years, its nice to see some potential resurgence and new attention. Its still got a competitive scene going strong with the core community but it can be a drag when you cant find any games online at times. Here's hope to some new attention to a game i really fell in love with. And for the first time i actually had the knowledge to know the answer to a question posed in one of your "can you beat *game* without *important mechanic*" videos right off the bat :D

"Past few years"? That's longer than the game has been out, dude.
When a game's playerbase has dropped so quickly, it's definitely acceptable to feel nostalgia for it no matter how recent it is.
(I feel nostalgia for things that are less than a year old, I think about good memories a lot and there's nothing wrong with that as long as you remember to embrace the present and look forward to making more good ones in the future.)

Now, this might sound impossible but trough the use of these things called hacks you are able to -brutaly murder- explode your enemy.

Master mummy is a lot of fun - Min Min still wins my personal fave though. I like ramen noodles.

You technically can, and can’t. You can keep dodging until time runs out, but then you’d just keep getting Draws, lol.
Though, you CAN make a bomb explode on your opponent, which will give them less damage than you when time runs out.
Grabs?
For this I see two options. Either pick Ribbon girl and grab combo from full health to dead, or use byte and bark from version 1.0, and use his “invincibility” to get time victories. Both would have issues fighting the final boss though, but that would just be a matter of luck

You know I would love to see you try going through a Smash Story mode like World of Light or Subspace Emissary without dodging or Shielding. Additionally, you could try playing World of Light without ever using the terrain immunity/resist spirits

It's just dawned on me that the entire concept of this game, extend arms with interesting attachments at the end used to punch things, is exactly like rayman 3. The whole combat system for rayman was moving to curve shots, getting power ups to change yor fists (metal, rocket, normal, etc.). I wonder if that's where they drew the inspiration for arms?

Just FYI you can curve a punch without moving by using motion controls and tilting one but not the other

This is the very first time I've seen anyone speak a word or show a single frame of the actual gameplay of ARMS, instead of just saying "ARMS is a video game in existence"
For Skillshot, you can curve punches by motion-controlling them and slanting your controller, if I remember correctly. The only thing you can't do is curve grabs.

For skill shot you could have used the motion controls. You just tilt the Joycon in the direction you want to go and Master Mummy won’t move. To move with the motion controls, you need to tilt both Joycons, not just one. I’m sure I’ve beaten some rounds of skill shot without moving. Also Pro tip: grab the other player. Yeet that boy to the ground and smash up some more targets

Punch-Out!! Should've been released instead of ARMS. It feels like something for us to snack on while we wait on the main course (Punch-out!!)
An ordinary, single-player boxing game with cheap stereotypes instead of characters VS. an original IP with 15 unique playable characters, 42 different ARMS to spice up the gameplay, and online-focused gameplay? I'd take ARMS in a heartbeat over "dodge punches and hit a at the right time then mash".
@@Barriertriostruckapose Seems like we have two differing opinions. While the stereotypes might be cheap in your eyes it's all in good fun, and the game is not as easy as it looks. Punch-out!! for the Wii had multiplayer as well, not to mention an arguably better roster. What do we have here? A blue-haired guy with boxing gloves, a Mummy, back from the dead? That's not really what I like. I prefer the silly yet unique roster of Punch-Out!! There's also the fact ARMS didn't sell all that well. You're also underplaying the skill factor of Punch-out. It's not just "wait and mash", it's more of a sport. You need to dodge, duck, block, and memorize the patterns of all of the roster, and the exact combinations and timing is a tricky thing to get a hold of. While sure it might have online multiplayer, I'd bet it takes quite a while to find a decent opponent. That is of course if you even bought the game. I'll tell you one thing; when the next punch out drops it will out sell ARMS by quite a bit. There's a reason why people buy the games.

Bite and bark’s tracking arms would be really good for this because you wouldn’t have to move and you would have an arm bark’s so it would be really good
You should try lego games and try to get every coin/ miss every coin. I think that would be a fun challenge for you. There are so many lego games you could do i could see this as a very cool series that i think alot of people will enjoy!
