I was actually working during the time the eclipse happened in my state, but I was still able to participate in the event. The local radio station I work at part time was hosting a remote show for the eclipse, and they had me board op for it. Luckily, the area I live in was one of the areas that got full totality. The only downfall was that there was a lot of cloud cover in my area that day, so most of us didn't quite get to see the full effect. But, we did all still get to see it get totally pitch black for about 2-3 minutes, which was pretty amazing. And even though I was indoors working, I luckily happened to be working right by a window, so I still got to witness the event. It was honestly one of the coolest things I've ever witnessed in recent memory, and I'm very glad that the eclipse happened to hit my area, and that I was there to witness it in person. (I do also remember hearing about the 2017 eclipse, but I honestly don't remember if it ever hit my state, or what exactly I was doing that day).
I saw totality and it was literally awe inspiring. Photos don't even come close to the actual experience. I'm honestly considering Iceland for totality again in 2026. It was that amazing.
#solarfail I was at work in Royersford PA & a coworker had some glasses for us to see the Eclipse. It was Awesome! But I got to see some of it.
I live in southeast missouri and we got the 100% cover it was so cool it was like someone was slowley hiting the dimer switch and the tempture dropped pretty cool man hope one day you see a full one have a nice day man
I got to witness totality. Out on a back road with an open field. It was amazing to see. Right before it happened the deer were making lots of noise. Seemed so surreal to see the eclipse and a few stars with the dark sky to driving back home with the sun shinning.
I eas in the total eclipse and it was a eerie light and feeling but so cool as well.
I got the total eclipse of the sun. And I am here to tell you that it was one of the most amazing and beautiful sites I have ever seen in my life. I'm so happy that I got to witness this. And I understand why people will travel To experience it. And I am truly grateful.I got to experience it cause I ain't got twenty years in me.
When you have the camera on the sun that teal crescent that wobbles around looks like what it would look with glasses. I think that was your camera capturing it.
Yea. I noticed that too. 😊
fun story i was not even looking for the glasses and i found them at walmart for ten cents but cali only got part of it and then i did see that the sky looked a little different but it was not going to be fully dark but i saw the sun and light outside change a little
I know what you mean by the light..there was a very odd glow to the light. Fortunately I live right in the path of totality and got to experience the 1 min of dark and view the total eclipse. Phenomenal! Your turn will come Dave.
That’s amazing!!!!!
2045 will be in Florida. So you are good if you stay there :)
#SolarFail I’m in Ohio, so I did see the whole thing in totality,Honestly freaking Erie man but really cool to experience! the dogs are cute! I’m glad they handled everything well!
In Pa we had clouds didnt see much! I thought it was creepy weird the park was empty on a beautiful sunny day! Even the nature was effected by the Eclipse. Here in Pa the Birds stopped singing for about 15 mins!
What I noticed, through your camera in the eclipse low light, was how bright the colors were of things... like the sky was so blue, the trees and grass were deep green, and all the colors of the playground equipment were almost primary bright. Totality passed right over where I used to live in Arkansas.... so I really had an eclipse fail in Germany! Safe journey... the pups are so cute!
#SolarFail. I live in south New Jersey and we got to see a 90% eclipse. Didn't get very dark but we did had the crescent shape.
#Solarfail I've been to Georgia, but I haven't been to Riceboro either (which is surprising since I've been to Savannah and Charleston, SC). No eclipse over here, but we had tons of clouds and we were out of the line anyway (and I didn't feel like going to San Antonio or Austin). Hi Pugsly and Indiana!
LOL, Shawn had to get a permission slip signed...in the 80's (I think it was '84) when I saw the eclipse they just threw us outside and said here, don't look up! Those metal slides scared the crap out of me when I was a kid (cause I thought I was going to get massively burned), my son has it so lucky with those fancy plastic covered slides. Thanks for the conversation as always.

I love the videos where you're out on the road, they are very cool. #SolarFail
Finding a remote control randomly in a park is definitely the video gods speaking too you.
As the sun fades away the crepuscular animals start moving around. Birds stop singing. Insects land. Deer start to move. It makes an odd sensation even when people are not completely aware of why it feels odd.

The next total solar eclipse visible in the US, is on Aug. 22, 2044. Totality will only be visible in three U.S. states: Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota.
Most library are handing out the glasses to see the eclipse. At least here in SW Florida they did.
I should have looked up the closest library instead of park
You definitely should have @@RetroRestStop
Retro Rest Stop did you see the solar eclipse yesterday
Do you wotcha the video?
@@minecraftfunminecraftfun3978yeah why
@@minecraftfunminecraftfun3978 I don't think he does... I made a comment about Jake's yesterday....and he asked who is Jake? Or maybe English isn't his first language to read.
@@LadyDragonsbloodhow would you feel if a guy or a girl replied to you by saying that you dont speak english because i guarantee you that a guy or a girl would say oh i bet that that this @LadyDragonblood person doesnt speak english and that she shouldnt say rude things to this Joe Tatro guy if she doesnt want people saying rude things about her
@@JoeTatro-js9wd First of all, I said maybe. I also know You Tube is an international platform...not everyone who participates in or on You Tube speaks English. I said that, because your questions, indicate you didn't watch the video. Why would you ask if he saw the eclipse? When it is what the entire video is about. So, I thought perhaps, English is not your first language. I was not being mean or rude.
Where I was the sun was approximately 90% blocked
#SolarFail I did a pinhole viewer with just 2 index cards and was able to see the eclipse. None of your videos are a fail😉
#solarfail 😂😂
