- This week I am showing you #HowToClean a #MAF Sensor in a #NissanMurano. I have a 2013 Nissan Murano and I recently had the #checkenginelight come on for a #P0101 which is tied directly to the #MassAirflowSensor ...
A mass airflow sensor calculates the oxygen flowing to your engine for the ideal air-to-fuel ratio. The mass airflow sensor helps to increase engine efficiency by doing so. Most cars use the hot wire principle when it comes to the airflow sensor. This week I used #Gumout mass air flow sensor cleaner in an attempt to fix my issue.

I have a 2013 nissan juke and this is the code they give me
As an update… I cleaned the MAF sensor and the light eventually came back on. If you replace your MAF sensor with a new one, you will have to do an “Idle Air Relearn” on it, which is usually something you’ll have to take it to the dealer for (unless you have a really good scanner at home). There are a number of other reasons for that light to be on also… Hopefully cleaning it will help you. Thanks for watching!
Detrone, excellent video. I have a question for you. I have a 2012 Rogue with a MAF problem p01 01 code. The Nissan dealer replaced the MAF. I replaced the air cleaner. I did not replace the PCV valve yet. The dealer I go to tells me they cannot fix the problem any more than they have because they do not have a Master Technician??? I am going to have to travel a ways to get a dealer with a Master Technician. The engine light has gone on twice now. It is supposedly fixed now. If not and the light goes on again and the car seems to run fine I want to turn off the engine light. I purchased a Walmart Hyper Tough HT 100 code reader. It is not much on instructions. It connects with your phone via Blue Tooth to give an explanation of the code. I do not need an explanation and I just want to turn off the engine light. My question is, do I have to use the Blue Tooth feature with the HT 100 or can I just plug it to the plug in the car, turn the ignition to on, read the code, and push the red button to clear the code??
Thank you, Tom Spero
You can clear the code right from the screen on the Hyper Tough device. My guess is you’ll see that engine light and those codes again though. My Murano now has the engine light back on but it will intermittently go away also, and that was after I replaced a torn boot and replaced the MAF as well. If it’s running fine, and you just don’t want the engine light… the HT100 will do exactly what you’re looking for without needing the Bluetooth functionality.
@@DetroneDoesIt Thank you Detrone
Hey have a nissan tiida 2007 tiida, turns on for 10 seconds or more then turns off . Any idea if its the maf sensor or something else? Ive changed the ignition coils
That could be several things including the Mass Air Flow sensor since it does measure air entering the engine, and if that is off it can cause the vehicle to stall. Replacing the MAF sensor is probably a good next step. Do you have any engine codes currently?
Should I just clean it first
Yes… that’s the easiest and most cost efficient method to try.
Thank you
Too late for me.. i saw this after i paid 112 and installed it! 😩🤦🏾♀️. Should I keep the original as a back up( 🤷🏾♀️)?
