  • Respect to Big Mike!!!
The Columbia River is a popular destination for walleye fishing, and some say spring is the best time to go. Walleye start spawning in late March or early spring, when the water is warmer and they are more active. However, some say you can fish for walleye year-round. In late winter and early spring, walleye metabolism slows and they may be less likely to chase bait, so you might need to put the bait right in front of them.
Some good spots for walleye fishing on the Columbia River include:
Boardman-Irrigon Stretch: This stretch in Oregon has slower currents and lots of food for walleye
Downstream of McNary Dam: Some say this area has more trophy-sized walleye than other parts of the river
Hanford Reach: This area doesn't have minimum size restrictions
McCormick Slough: This popular spot on the Oregon side of the river has a big ledge with deep water next to shallow water and a wall fishing. ‪@AmericanFishing‬ #walleye #fishing #fish
