I think whichever actress played Captain Marvel it would have been the same, cos of the writing. But I did enjoy Blunt in Edge of Tomorrow, and I think a tone kinda like that in writing would have boosted the Captain Marvel movie (to be clear, I didn't dislike the movie, just thinking of improvements). As a previous person said, I'll look to the sequels, and hopefully it gives a chance for the character to shine more.
She is just fantastic. Witty, smart, talented, beautiful and a family person. The world needs more Emily Blunts.
