I know exactly how Gus feels. I got a job a little while ago, so this was my first experience ever really getting packages en-masse since I finally have money to buy things. Half the time it's delivered to the wrong address if the right guy isn't there. I literally have different mail carriers, like 3 different ones all driving the USPS truck on different days, and the one guy is like "Yeah, when it's not me the packages don't really get delivered right." I'm just shaking my head, he literally came back from his route, tracked down where my package was and had the person give it back to me. That guy is awesome, but everyone else? Sometimes I just do not receive things and it gets completely lost never to be seen again. I'm getting sick of it. I don't want to deal with people like that honestly. @@dustinsaunders314 Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act of 2006 (PAEA).
Before you take this act into account, which prefunds pensions for postal workers for the next 75 years.. (which means about half of these postal workers haven't been born yet), the USPS posted a 3 billion dollar profit.
Then this act kicks in, taking 5 billion dollars away, just like it does every year... hence the 2 billion dollar loss.

Here's the thing: many times, you see that a package was delivered but you won't receive it for a few more days. The USPS has a quota they have to meet about how many packages they deliver, so they will say that your package is delivered and cause issues and such because of it.

  • @KingKRinge99

I always here people complain about USPS but I've never had a package say it was delivered when it wasn't. The only problem I ever had was that one time the package arrived at like 10 at night for some reason when it said it would be there in the morning.

Not an issue where I live. I live in Canada. Canadian postal services often make you sign for larger packages as proof they delivered it to the right house. And if you do miss it, they will leave a sticky pad with the package information on it, stuck to your door, and store the package at your local post office so you can pick it up.

  • @Stammer6

Gus' anger at the USPS reminds me of the time I got burned by my internet provider. Every single day for over a year I'd call them and complain that I'm paying for 25Mbps down but only getting up to 2Mbps. One day I just lost it at them. I'm pretty sure even my neighbours heard me screaming at the poor guy on the other end of that phone call

  • @zachnormand9463

First off, the usps is "supposed" self sufficient, which means it does not operate on taxe money. The two main reasons why the US Postal Service loses billions of dollars yearly is because, 1. Peope are sending less mail than perviously, 2. Because pensions are getting exponentially higher.
Now I may be biased, because my father works for the post office, but the USPS employs over 600,000 Americans. Also its way cheaper to ship with usps compared to Amazon or FederalExpress

So, just discovered that USPS is partnered with GovDeals, which is an online auction where "lost packages" are sold, soley for USPS profit.
And by "lost packages," they mean "packages that are deemed valuable, so they 'go missing' or are 'declared dead' and put up for auction, where USPS pockets 100% of the funds."
To make matters worse, the MRC (Mail Recovery Center) is where all these "lost item auctions" are held, and you can't take pictures of the building, can't record video outside the building (not even on the public street) and USPS WILL detain you and call the cops if you try to do so.
