In 2021, Honda brought back the previous version of the CRF450R as a means to alleviate short-term supply issues. The response was so good that the same bike returned as the 2022 CRF450RS alongside the standard and RWE versions. The motivation is price; the RS sells for $8599, making it the most affordable bike in the 450 class. This is based on the same bike that was introduced in 2017. It has the older chassis, the twin exhaust system and the cable clutch.This bike demonstrates how far we have come in five years. When the first model of this generation was introduced, we loved it because it was so powerful. Now, we’ve learned that you can go faster with less muscle. We still love riding the Honda, but it’s a demanding bike to race.

Just bought mine, jumped from a kx 125 to the 2022 crf450rs, and I couldn’t be more impressed. And for 1000 bucks less you simply can’t beat it.
LOVE this machine - I bought it to go with my TM Racing EN300ES to build at XPR Engines and make it a "factory" machine...cam, valve springs, valves, valve seats, ecu, exhaust, clutch, clutch arm, clutch bracket, clutch perch etc. are all going bye bye, and I just bought my first shipment of parts just yesterday. I'm adding the Boyesen Supercooler, Honda Red Moto in-line cooler, CV4 2.0 radiator cap, trail tech fan, and new radiator hoses (they are on their way as I write 😀). I am adding momentum clutch basket from Hinson to help ride GNCC, Hare & Hound, WORCS, and Sprint Enduros...
Make no mistake about it, this bike is FUN and RIPS! I was planning on replacing all this crap on most 450s anyways, so this really was a bargain and I thought it would overheat, but it really has not once...don't think I go much faster than the avg Joe either...I REALLY recommend this platform if you don't mind fixing a few issues...most fun I've had on a bike in a very long time!!! :) 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪

Not in the market for a 450 but this is good for the sport. Good on Honda. Very few of us need an 11k dirtbike OTD.

Bought one in April 2024, $8300 OTD. Zero wrong with that bike. Other manufactures should follow suit. The “new-new” bikes are getting priced into the unobtainable for a lot of would-be buyers .
After riding the next gen bike there’s no going back for me. Had a 18 now a 22 WE. Both good bikes but the 22 feels so much narrower and lighter.
When I get mine the first thing Ime doing is removing the judder spring so the clutch doesn’t explode
This may be the BEST new CRF450R for 99% of riders out there that want a new CRF450R! I'm lookin for one now.
They released this because they had left over parts....

I cant wait for Honda to catch on to what KTM is doing and make a light, powerful, stable, reliable bike for trails and on the track.
I agree 100%. I'm on a KTM and would like to try something different for my enduro riding. Would love if all brands made trail riding/track bikes.

rx is the enduro model got little lighter suspension feel and 18 rear wheel instead on 19

Yes correct, covid hit so Honda couldn’t push out these units, eventually they rebranded it as a rs and saw it had potential as a budget new bike, so now I guess it’s gonna be a continued thing as they have a 2023 already released
