    I remember the first video I watch by you Mike was your Invert Mini review, I knew that was going to be my first gun, and it wound up being it. Parents got it for me for Christmas that year, and it last me 8 years with little to no issue, it ripped!
    I started watching you when I was in 6th or 7th grade, and I turn 25 at the end of the month! You're definitely the biggest paintball influence I had growing up! So thank you Mike!

    I do the same thing! I bring extra setups too, and when the younger kids with mech and spider guns come on the field to play speedball I let them use one of my extra guns and they get so excited to shoot a higher end gun their eyes just light up! Last time I played rec speedball I traded a kid my lv1 for his Tippmann 98 for a few games and he had a blast! Being nice to the younger kids that will keep coming back is the way to grow the sport. Also when I’m playing against people that aren’t as good DONT LIGHT THEM UP! And when I go to bunker them I put one ball on their backs and try to aim for packs and hoppers or the mask so they aren’t going home with 30 welts and never want to play speedball again, hopefully they eventually want to get into the tournament scene cuz it’s a blast! Keep doing what you’re doing man 🤘🏼

    • @GunFunZS
      @GunFunZS Před 5 lety

      I do this too. I have 20 something setups, and used to keep them packaged in sets of everything for two. It does get old when spider kid dumps a pod of smashed paint in your hopper, then unscrews your barrel and leaves it some random place for the 40th time though. If I were starting over, I think I would just get 20 A5s with better barrels for the loaner guns.

    As someone who is just getting into the sport after not playing for years as a kid. What he is talking about is 100% true. What made me get back into it was all the pros and people who were there to help me, talk to me about guns, be honest about if their gun was trash or great, tell me where to get cheap gear, lend me gear, lend me alan wrenches, help fix my cousins gun. It made such an impact on me to see a community so willing to help out new people. Really hope more people give this sport a chance so they can run into more people like the ones i met.

    Cut the cost of paintballs by a factor of 10. Anything else is pointless. The cost of all gear is relatively small compared to the colossal cost of a year of play. Sadly, unless the manufacturing technology improves or the ingredients for paintballs become cheaper, that probably won't happen.

    • @lokirip2372
      @lokirip2372 Před 5 lety

      That's so interesting to hear. When I started in 93, paint was $80-100 per 2500 case of proball or marbalizer. That was right as pump was giving way to semi auto. Paint is so much cheaper now, but everyone wants to shoot 13 balls per second. Its the rate of fire that has made paintball so expensive. Its really interesting to think about how its all changed. And... Autococker for the win (shout out to the vets)

    This concept is merely how to behave as a human being. But to truly grow the sport of paintball one needs to generate measurable metrics and follow up on goals. How many times did you help another one, how significant was the help, what was your own satisfactory of the "service" as example. Give a target value and always improve on that. What is significant will shift with time and one needs to be LEAN wit the change. BTW happy to se you on the air again :)

      stick around, watch videos/ read up on how to build/ maintain and repair guns, know that the problems that face a lot of new players are O-rings breaking ( crazy easy fix), detents, not knowing how to chronograph, download manuals to markers( they are free online!) etc.
      First marker I would state to dive headfirst into learning how to tech? : Mechanical Autocockers. They are the mechanically most complex markers but are not hard to learn how to tune, time and tech. Once you have that down? you have the "hardest" part out of the way and everything else is very easy.
      *Autocockers are not hard to learn, but they are mechanically complex.* Once you learn that? working on Axes/Minis, ANY spool valve marker, Automags, Tippmanns becomes absurdly easy.
