I’m not sure if this a redundant band name drop because I just got into them but check out slightly stoopid, they’ve been around forever, how they genre jump is similar to king gizzard but rooted in reggae rather then metal. If you don’t like reggae still check them out, they might show you something new. Next time I drop my playlist will be this live set (I’m saving it), a slightly stoopid live set, and close it out with the cliche dead set.

I can't believe how insanely good this guys sound live
Leah is so awkward while they're shredding, it's hilarious
she is a folk singer, Heavy disgusting rock isnt the kind of stuff she performs so she probably hasnt developed the stage energy needed for those genres
But Im happy she did narration for this album, castle in the air (Polygondwanaland) and Dawn of Eternal Night (Petrodragonic Apocalypse)
I'm new to this band, maybe 4-5 weeks. It's my favorite band of all time. I can tell you that this altered beast stuff lyrically is giving me "Transformation of ones self, separation from culture and the structures set in place for us to live by that we have to shed and dissolve the boundaries of to regain our true selves.
We have to murder that part of ourselves to find ourselves. For me personally that first song lyrics remind me of my own journey of transformation through using Magic mushrooms. I've never heard this stuff yet but it has a meaning for me personally already.

If you’re looking to mix mushrooms and King Gizz, might I suggest the songs The River and Am I In Heaven as two friends to accompany on your next voyage. Plenty more great choices (The Wheel, Float Along Fill Your Lungs, Slow Jam 1, etc.), but those would be my top 2 selections

I went to all three at RR and flew to Berkeley in the hopes of hearing Digital Black. Went to Levitation in Austin and OKC on Halloween and till their November 2 show when they opened with it, I went insane

I find it crazy how I couldn't say which of the 3 story arcs the album cover at the end shows.
Its like they had the artwork first and then 3 different people wrote down their own interpretation of the painting.

It's definitely supposed to represent Han Tyumi's green vomit consuming the entire universe. That's even what crumbles the castle on "Crumbling Castle". "Water's rising up, thick and green, crumbling castle" on track Crumbling Castle. and "Castles crumble in landslides and I munch the rubble" on track MOTU. The Fourth Color is about Han Tyumi becoming a cyborg so Polygondwanaland is actually in reverse chronological order, and the Horology trilogy refers to Lord of Lightning. Gizz albums have a lot of circular references not only lyrically and lore-wise, but also musically. They borrow riffs from older albums a lot. Personally I've noticed they put a variation of the Cellophane riff into The River, Wah Wah, and No Body (Changes).
The Gizzverse runs very deep my friend, and within one album you may find a link to the rest of them
