Redempton - The Bukayo Saka Story
Redempton - The Bukayo Saka Story
Redempton - The Bukayo Saka Story - Hry
The Athletic said it best imo. "It's easy to paint Bukayo Saka's story as one of redemption but it is worth remembering that there was nothing for him to redeem." Arguably our best forward since Euros 2020. The penalty was bad luck. Saka's always given us his best.
That’s a very good point, he was so young for the final too
yeah it annoys me quite a lot that people are saying he's redeemed himself. As though he in any way wronged anyone.
11 MOTM in 28 appearances
I think with the expansion of internet commentary a player can’t go a few quiet games without needing “redemption”. I mean ffs Liverpool fans were saying we should sell Salah even though he scored 18 goals that season.
Exactly - he was 19, tried his best, was unlucky. He doesn't need to do penance, players with far more experience than him have missed pens.
its not redemption, its clarification. He has been one of the best in the world, people refuse to see it.
I don’t think any reasonable person doesn’t see him as one of the best forwards in world right now
So glad to see Saka get the respect he fully deserves. What a talent he is.
And an absolutely top guy too!
not, he wasn't on every fucking tabloid covers after the QF like he was after being subbed on in a friendly's loss
The fact saka doesn’t let the euro penalty haunt him like it would many people is what makes him great
The balls to step up again is mental aswell
true.. unlike rashford and sancho who are both no longer good enough to make the squad
How's your luck been bro for Legends Anniversary? 😅
@@KingLeVeL007 garbage 😂😂😂😂how about you
@@davidmurowe5509 only got the vegito and that's abt it 🤣 but not too bad considering I really wanted him
SAKA FINALLY GETTING THE RESPECT HE DESERVES ❤
Damn Right
Love his little smiling face, bless him
Same mate!
My dad doesn’t even care about football, but he loves Saka. When he scored the equalizer he was ecstatic, and then scoring the penalty my dad started blowing up the family group chat 😂. He adores Saka, and he’s not even English!
That's actually class haha!
Neither is saka
@jamesstone9091 and you are sub-human portraying yourself as homo-sapien.
@@jamesstone9091 Saka was born in England, not sure what you’re on about
@@jamesstone9091 Racist used racism! It hurt itself in its confusion
A guy who never deserved to get the flak he got in his time with an England kit and one of the few people I'd be happy to see win the Euros for you all.
Also yes Viz...you did it again brother! BANGER!
Mate Saka doesn't owe you or any one anything, He was a 19 year old child being asked to take a penalty kick because no adult in the team was willing to step up to the plate. So there is no "debt" to be repaid.
I think I speak for all Arsenal and England fans when I say this, were all so happy that Saka converted. It sucks that I see more hate than love for such an amazing talent like Saka. For Saka to not only prove haters wrong and bring joy to the ones that support him is just so amazing.
Hope you're well mate, thank you!
He has extreme mental fortitude. If scoring in the shootout vs the Swiss was the only thing that would’ve still been a great redemption, but becoming Arsenal’s main penalty taker even after euro 2020 makes it even better
He's missed key penalties for Arsenal too, West Ham being the obvious one. He will always come back to prove himself
Already has for arsenal imo, scored v Bournemouth 3rd from last game last season to make it 1-0 , massive moment for the game and our title chances
scored all of his pens against big 6 clubs too
@@Vizeh He has only missed one penalty for Arsenal. And he has scored in all the shoot outs for Arsenal including vs Porto and City in the FACS. He has a conversion rate of above 90%. That’s good for a 22 year old who faced abuse because of a missed* penalty.
*The penalty was saved not missed.
he never needed to be redeemed in my eyes.. one moment shouldn’t be held in the same vein as all his games to that point (and since), but that’s social media these days
exactly, it's just a cop-out for racists avoiding accountability because they abused him in the past
As a arsenal fan.
Saka is only 2 years older than myself
He’s got the world on his shoulders and he plays so composed
He’s the greatest English youngster I’ve seen who’s consistently played.
He’s played top class even when arsenal finished 8th twice in a row.
Something about him reminds me of arjen robben, cut in, slice it with the left. But I recall when he was left back, that game against Frankfurt (I think) and he cut in from the left and did the same move he does now but did it on his right foot.
Hes flawed on the fact that he dips in form towards the end of the season. But I think it’s the fact he’s burnt out.
Star boy for a reason imo
Love that mate!
@@Vizeh loving the uploads man.
I wanted to ask if you could do a video on the origins of football and how it came to be.
I did research on it. It is actually somewhat interesting
Was sorta thinking you could show the evolution of the English side of it. As it originated in the UK.
I was thinking of doing the video myself but I am in no way able to produce it nor record it as well as you would.
Bukayo Saka is one of 3 players that missed their penalties in the last Euro but unlike Rashford and Sancho who never truly recovered, Saka managed to perform very well for both Arsenal and England since that miss. It's a testimony of his strong character after a major setback. Something that Rashford and Sancho should take notes.
Finally getting the respect he deserves. Love Saka
Top guy man
Successful players are the ones that dare to fail. After failure, they work hard, get better and try again. Bukayo Saka embodies that.
Makes me laugh when people say he’s shy. He’s such a character with so much mental strength and he does it with a smile on his face, bringing energy to everyone around him! Great that more people see why us Arsenal fans love him so much! But for the gunners he means something else entirely…One of our own!! ❤️🌟
Saka is a great example to young lads out there to never give up and don't be afraid to fail. Keep improving and working at your craft and you'll get the chance to shine again, just like Saka showed against Switzerland.
I love it man!❤
Saka never had to prove anything to anyone, we all knew how good he was. We all knew that missing that penalty would only make him stronger. He is an amazing football player but also a great person. It's difficult to find someone who's both.
He doesn’t need a redemption arch, he missed a peno and the country called him a monkey. That’s it
Yeah there’s no redemption. Hes been consistently improving for the last 4 years. Sky is the limit for him
I don't think he needed 'redemption' to be honest. Probably the wrong wording.
That said, the guy had stones taking a pen the other night.
When saka got that penalty in I cheered so loud to go up and take that penalty after what he went through is honestly incredible 👏
Being a life long Arsenal fan since I was 3 , seeing saka is a joy to watch I love this guy and everything he brings to our club and country , super under appreciated
if bukayo is happy i'm happy
He had no debt to pay. He missed a penalty ffs. What a weird thing to say
i really think that saka was always good but just had to much pressure from everyone to fans, coaches and teammates but now he has learned how to shut the voices up
He's still so young that's the main thing
🎶Bukayooooo Saka,
Running down the wing, Saka,
Hear the England sing, Saka,
We’re all going to Berlin!!🎶
I love Saka man ❤❤
Big respect 🙏🏿 👏 🙌 💯
Much love pal!
He didn’t have anything to redeem himself for
Love saka, the way he bounced back from the penalty miss to being one of arsenal’s key player for more than 2 seasons and being in my opinion our best player at the world cup was amazing, such a respectful and wholesome person aswell
Love him man!
ngl I was terrified when it was his turn to take it. didn't want him to get the hate he was going to had he missed
Saka is by far my favourite player in fact he is one of the reasons I support arsenal. Saka just has so much charm and things to like about him I genuinely don’t know how people could dislike him. Just keep shining
Did you hear what Bielsa said about modern football? I think you should make a video of that
So glad to see Vizeh getting so much love and posting such top tier quality videos, hopefully he stays humble and consistent (and hopefully he doesn’t touch any minors)
I ain’t Drake mate don’t worry
Love the video - hate the title. As the Athletic wrote: "It's easy to paint Bukayo Saka's story as one of redemption but it is worth remembering that there was nothing for him to redeem. He performed no action in the 2021 final worthy of the racist and toxic comments that followed. He was brilliant then, even better now".
Saka has been great for arsenal for the last 2-3 years now, its just the international audience that thinks its a "Redemption", he has been GREAT!
Those ‘weak’ memes are because he gets booted around the pitch all game and receives no protection from the refs. Meanwhile Jack Grealish goes down at the slightest bit of contact and the opposing right back gets a booking about 5 minutes into the game.
I don't agree that Saka gets unfair treatment compared to other players, think this is a common thing with many wingers. Eden Hazard got the same thing
Probably because Grealish plays for Citeh
A shoot out miss is a shoot out miss. But, scoring in the next shoot out is total redemption and the miss is instantly dead.
Honestly my favourite channel, such a good day when vizeh posts
You simply can't hate Saka
Exactly
Nope, I'm a spurs supporter and I love the guy, I think Declan Rice is a real decent bloke too
@@NocularSame. I want to hate Kane and Madders but I just can’t do it.
Earned a new sub👍
I got new balance ad with Saka in it right before the video
Got a Saka ad, love it!
From Starboy to a Galactico. Saka is evolving
i love saka and this channel 😊
Shout out to Ivan and Trent who also completed their redemption arcs in that shootout. Ivan for coming back from a gambling ban, Trent for coming back from all the criticism he's had to endure.
Bukayo though - yes that was incredibly sweet and poignant.
Luke and Saka are both lovely people and i love them sm☹️☹️☹️☹️❤️❤️❤️
Even as a Chelsea fan I think Saka is a great player, potential to be the best in the world. I really like him, especially when he plays for England . Great mentality and brilliant on the ball. Palmer is already a Chelsea legend but I don’t see him knocking Saka out anytime soon (even if I want him to start)
In the end Saka did get his moment against Holland like you said 🔥
So happy for Buyako Saka. He faced so much shit for that penalty, even though he really wasn't at fault. He was just 19 at the time and really shouldn't have been in that position to begin with. It was a management issue, and even then, he didn't miss... his pk was just saved, yet he faced horrendous racial abuse for it. But Saka never let that haunt him, and look at what he's done now! Imo, he's been the best player for England this tournament, and I'm rooting for him to win it all :)
Seeing Saka climb to the top makes me so happy after what happened to him, now he’s one of England’s best players and is more likely to start than even Kane
I saw a video of blackburn and burnley fans teaming up in Germany 😂
It won't be like that next season though. May the best team win.
I'm still annoyed we are playing you so early I can't lie
@@Vizeh I know you gotta save the best till last
Elite mentality!
"A never ending battle That will never have an end" - Vizeh, 2024
Deep ain't it
Please go through the mesmerising rags to riches career of Ollie Watkins next, especially after that goal.
Not an Arsenal fan, but he and ødegaard are fun to watch together
He’s always been class at Arsenal, nothing to redeem
4:08 i’m a chelsea fan and have always loved saka
It's very hard not too
Am I the only one who doesn’t even think about the 2020 penalty!? Saka was 19 at the time and his penalty was saved. Rashford was the one who hit the post.
I don’t think any of them needed redeeming. Penalty misses always happen to anyone.
The PR behind black English players is honestly crazy. Dude anyone think about why all the penalty takers (apart from palmer cause he's cold) were black. Dude was ready with a scapegoat. I've lost all my respect for English Football. I love the league but the media behind Englsih Football is just poor.
There may be an inkling of truth to some of the criticisms regarding strength. But whatever he lacks in physicality he more than makes up for with guts and intelligence. One of the best in the world right now, and his numbers speak pretty loudly for him.
Redemption ???
He was always good, idiots just don't want to see it
The beat 🔥🔥🔥
Star Boy 💫❤️
I don;t understand why people are saying he redeemed himself. I know of NOBODY in England that was angry at him after the last final. we were all so proud of our boys for getting to our first final in decades. All the 'abuse' was traced back to the middle east and India, in fact 98% came from outside England.
Everyone I knew, at home, at work, my firends, my locals, we were all so proud of him and the rest of the team.
Any redemption comes from himself and his own mentality. He had nothing to prove to us.
Respect so saka. But you just don’t deserve even the semi final win. I honestly want to see a Spain Netherlands Final
Saka played so good in the quarter final looking forward to the semis always thought Bowen was better but now no way Saka was taking on players like no one’s business come on get to the final said Spain and England since day 1 let’s hope it comes true
Saka has nothing to prove. He’s actually carrying arsenal. It’s the England players on man city and United that have to step up. City and United rely on their foreign talents to carry them like Bruno and Haland
Man City's best player was English? not foreign
You can't keep the starboy down!
Video idea : rise of Cole Palmer
We're now in the final ... How?
That goal made me jump out the bed. I'm a city fan btw
A reminder that had either Sancho or Rashford not missed their penalties, Saka wouldn't have been in that position of being vilified to begin with.
Starboy
Hell yeah man
Remember when Messi missed a penalty and announced that he wants to retire? Crying baby. Saka is the best footballer ever
Messi has a weak mentality.
I’ve never seen a player get so much credit due to the team around him.
In my experence. The former screw ups who stopped being screw ups are the best people in my eyes.
on my day id pocket saka.no cap
Has Kane redeemed himself for missing in the 2022/3 World Cup!?
He’s playing quite shit atm. At least he scored the winner in the other game.
Saka is probs that guy that would cover ur bus fare if you couldnt.
Imagine thinking he had a debt
He never failed. White people may think he did but black people felt no failure towards Saka. 🤩#Starboy🤩
Why are you generalising ALL white people like that. You are as much of a racist as the racists who criticised him. 😡
Yea "white people" aka Indians and Pakistani, glad you know what actually happened.
Never made sense to me why he caught so much flak when his pen just got saved. Its not like he skied it or hit post or gone wide. He just got his shot saved so why was there so much hate ?
Thanks to your video being interrupted by an advert we were knocked out by Tina. Been there wasn’t nice.
u boys got a genuine chance if u can get past my nederland boys. buttttttttt XD
Saka has balance pace skill shooting defending and passing what more can you want and he tries really hard
saka's problem is basically "marketable racism" in England. it was the same with rashford back then
Where's the Parker video ????
it’s not a redemption story. he’s always been good but now he had the chance to keep going with england
Yo does anyone know this BEAT!?!?
I think it's hilarious that people think Saka has something to redeem. He's done nothing but be one of the best young players in the world for years now. If that's what you call "redemption" then idk what to tell you
There’s no such thing as luck through a full tournament in football you make your own luck. Hate how much people use the word luck in football.
who wilk win the euros?
Biukeiyo Seyk
England made euro semis in 1968
5:05 we have won the FA Cup.!?
My issue that I've been seeing these past few years is that the very second that they don't play well or miss a chance, he's right back to being the scapegoat again which doesn't sit right with me...
There is nothing to be redeemed for he was the highlight for England in 2020 but was suddenly viewed as the worst for missing a penalty to the point that other club fans lorde it over him to say he's always terrible.
Even pundits were taking the piss out of him for limping after what playing 50+ games for arsenal, and they don't care... if he plays good he's a starboy... if he plays bad.... well we've seen what happens
Saka didn't do anything wrong though. Its everyone else that doesn't appreciate him. There's hesitation to give him the same praise Palmer, Foden etc get and I have no idea why, he's England's best player and its not even close
*Anyone but Spain* burnley over Barcelona Jeden Tag! Im glad Saka put the ball in the net instead of in the stands wolves over Madrid! North Preston southern 3-0 over La Liga club.
Let me add to the comments stating, redemption implies that Bukayo did something wrong that he is now making right.
The lad did nothing wrong. The wrong came from the racist messaging from his penalty kick, the quite openly racist headlines in the press since then and Southgate for putting a 19 year old kid in the position of taking such an important penalty.
To go through all that and come out the other side is a credit to himself and those around him that support him. But he should never have had to have gone through that in the first place.
No wonder England always lose on pens cause their manager is known for getting one saved making them lose😂make sense
