  • @ArnoldWinters
    @ArnoldWinters Před 2 lety +1

    Keep the 18”, you will get a smoother ride, and not have vulnerability to potholes. Just be careful with inclines. That is go slow over them and approach from an angle letting one tire touch first then roll across slowly. Overall you will save money an prolong the tire. Also a lower car performs better at high speeds due to better drag coefficient.

    I bought mine lowered on Unplugged Performance Suspension kit. Its looks awesome and performs cornering like the best sports cars out there. But I cannot take hitting all the bumps, and can't get into half the business's driveways. Even my own parking spot at home is uneven and I bottom our there. I measured 5" from the mudgaurd protection area. Tire place couldn't even get their low profile jack under the car. I had to buy ramps just to be able to jack the car. I'm on 20's.

    A year later after this video has been posted; what is your conclusion and what did you decide on for your car ? Personally, I would stay with the 18's and just get the coil overs for your car. I just lowered by 2023 Model 3 a few weeks ago and I got the Tein Flex Z coil over system. 20mm spacers on all four corners with a MPP rear camber linkage. I plan on changing the stock tow-in links to the MPP as well soon. ZevCentric is the shop that did all the work and they lowered the car to 2.54cm (1 inch) all the way around. I still have the stock 18's, just like yours on my car. Let me know what you have decided on.

  • @MrElo
    @MrElo Před 2 lety +1

    You can use any size wheels, as long as your roll diameter remains the same, which it is meant to.
    I would go with 20 inch wheels and a 245/35 R20 tire. That should be fine. If you want a front lip bit are concerned about scraping go with the Unplugged Performance front lip. That has the same ground clearance as it has now.

    it's not going to touch...if you go 20's the wheel will get larger, but the overall diameter will be pretty much the same...so as the wheel gets bigger, the tire gets thinner...that being said...you need to be concerned with offset more...seeing how low yours is...I would go with a +30 or35 if you want to be careful... I'll be going with +22. the lower the number the more the wheel will come out of the fender to get that flush look
