Toy Box First Astro Race | 10/22/2022

www.dollarhobb..., the time has come for the first race of the season at The Toy Box. With the new astroturf surface, the setup game would change drastically. No longer do we struggle for grip (well, maybe today in 2WD Buggy), but rather a drivable car that won't traction roll.
Race Breakdown:
Novice 13.5 Buggy went very well. I took 2nd and 1st respectively in my two heats. With the TQ, I was poised for at least a podium finish. The start was rather rough, but a big mistake from the leader allowed me to slip into 1st and run away with the race, but not before the former leader attempted to take back the race.
17.5 2WD Buggy unfortunately, didn't go so well. I struggled to set my car up properly and find traction from my front wheels. With a lack of mid corner steering and a few traction rolls, I simply couldn't hold pace with the other racers. I would ultimately finish 5th that day.
