  • Who would have thought that the Philippines would be full of marble...
Romblon is a province in Mimaropa that is composed of three islands. The main (yet smallest) island is called the same name as its province... Romblon! Driving around this small island you feel like losing track of time. It is so peaceful, laid back and just awesome!
    But...
You also may begin to feel like you are in "Rome". I could understand if people called it "Rome-Blon" because there is so much Marble!! The island is the breadbasket of marble in the Philippines! It is everywhere! Literally the production just occurs on the side of the one main road circulating the island!
This is my experience running around and being mesmerized by all the marble!
    Super Apir!

I wish the government would improve transportation really. Amazing local industries like these deserve wider distribution throughout the islands. There are so many different regional industries that never really reach beyond the next province.

Hi kulas..i saw this video in one of the series of The God Culture to prove that the Philippine island is a home of onyx stones, which might have been the one used by King Solomon in building the temple together with the gold from Ophir which is also now called the Philippines

From Romblon town heading to Macalas is where you will see all this marble rocks. People there have been mining those rocks for more than 2 decades yet the province is not running out of marbles, so you can assume that those rocks are growing.
