My friend I have a 2005 997.1 C2 i just want to get a 991.2 pdk steering wheel. Non multifunction. Is it just plug and play? Will I be able to control the Tiptronic shifters via the pdk paddles?

I can't decide between the bolt in solution of the 991.1 Sport wheel and the more involved option with the 991.2 wheel in my 991.1
If I have the oldest 991.1 steering wheel with multifunction controls , it is easier to swap the 991.2 steering wheel (with multi function controls)? Just pug and play or I need an adapter?

Can anyone help me decide on what steering wheel would be better in terms of reach (the adjustment in the steering column is not enoug)h) I would have installed a spacer behind the stock but that would take the stalks too far back, so i figured maybe one of these upgraded wheels might do the trick. If there is any difference, which one comes slightly closer to the driver? Thanks

Is the diameters of all the steering wheels the same? From the video roughly looks the same. How about thickness?
So will any 991 fit a 981 boxster cayman.
I have a 987.1, manual, no controls or heat. It’s the triangle wheel. I want to upgrade to a nicer wheel, maybe the 991.2. Will that work? Assuming I get the correct airbag, do I then need to figure out a clockspring adapter?
The wheel will mount on the hub, but the airbag connector and clockspring would not work.
@@Carsaddictionwhy not? The 991.2 steering wheel has the same Yellow/Orange main connector.

It will physically fit but you would need to do research on the electronics. Best to ask the supplier for the multifunction adapter if they have any info, may I recommend Cypher to help you out - bit.ly/3j1Be0y
That's not a 997.1 steering wheel, it's the 997.2 Version 2, there are 2 versions of steering wheels that came with the 997.2 , one version carried over to the 991.1. The first part of the video should have been about does the 997.2 version 1 airbag fit in the Version 2 steering wheel because that's the most common upgrade.
I have the 997.2 (no multifunction) wheel and purchased a 992 wheel with airbag (with multifunction)
Which module would I require and what is the adaptor for? Or is that the same thing as the adaptor?
If I install without module I just assume the mf won’t work but the wheel will fit as standard right?
Or do I also need an adaptor just for the airbag to work? That but confusing however I have the complete wheel and airbag. Thanks
For one your airbag connector is different. On making this video an adapter was non existent.

My question: i have the 971 Panamera 2019, with the Carbon Fiber steering wheel.
I want to upgrade it to the newest one, as you shown in your Video.

@@Carsaddiction No I just want to install the sport steering wheel that was also introduced to the 997.2 turbo but the one I can find is a 991.1 steering wheel so this one should work normally,is that right?

Hi Ryan, Thanks for the great videos. I'm getting ready to swap my alcantara wheel for a leather one. I found a wheel out of a 2016 GT4 which is manual. Do you know if the paddle shifters from my 2021 Cayman wheel will be a direct bolt on to the 2016 wheel? I'd appreciate any help or insight you can provide.

Hello. I have a manual 987.2 cs heated wheel no multi. Is the rectangular electrical connection just for multi function buttons functionality? I would like to swap in this wheel but i would like to remove the multi function buttons ( are they removable). I only need a horn and if possible heating. I know the new airbag is different.
It is possible, each wheel has the individual blanks to replace the multifunction switches.
I did this upgrade for my 997.1 to 991.2 and now everything works but I have an airbag light. Has anyone else encountered this issue?
I hope you figured it out by now, did you disconnect the battery before unplugging the airbag as not doing so usually throws an error code which needs to ne cleared

I'm really not sure, and this would be a case of you experimenting on your own car. If it helps I have a bare stripped down version of the carbon wheel (but in leather) for sale, so you don't have to spend much to test fit the wheel to see if its feasible.
Someone should just upgrade the cheat controller and roll with third generation steering wheel

I would like to upgrade to 991.2 Steering Wheel in Napa Leather not multi function...just suitable for paddle shifter. What budget do I need to plan. What is the best price to acquire the 991.2 steering wheel? How much for installation? Can I trade in my 981 sport design steering wheel with Alcantara?

Hi Ryan, I have a base carrera 997.2 2011 with PDK, sport + crono package and I would like to change the standard wheel (push button PDK) to a Sport Wheel (paddle PDK). Do you think is possible? Do I need the Foxwell tool to programing the steering wheel ? I will appreciate your advise o it. Greetings
Yes it is possible and I cover the procedure in this video - czcams.com/video/MqApyUSeito/video.html - The only reason you would need the Foxwell tool is if you the old wheel does not have multifunction and the new one has. BUT you would need an electronic converter called the "GPS adapter".

991.1 steering wheels looks like some cheap imitation from China.
991.2 finally looks like it belongs in a sports car.
