  • This CZcams video features the Franklin Daily Planner in their classic size. Planners are abundant these days, as seen on CZcams, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat and in tags. Ufortunately, when too many planners are put into use by one person, the effect achieved can be exactly the opposite of the one hoped for. See how the Daily Franklin Planner COULD be THE ONE to get you back on track. It's worked for me for 10+ years.
    Be sure to let me know your FAVORITE forms of Social Media!

    All products (yup...ALL!!!) were purchased by me. You will ALWAYS get my honest opinion about a product. I personally value truth and honesty HIGHLY! I also value PEOPLE highly. So you are most likely not going to see products here that i didn't particularly like. There's barely enough time to share GREAT things about GREAT products and GREAT people. THAT is what you will be seeing/hearing here.

    .. and before Franklin merged with Covey, it was called Franklin Quest. I have been a die hard Franklin user since my mother-in-law gave me a planner in 1995. I think if you migrate away from Franklin, you will be unhappy - once you correctly use a Franklin, you can never go back.

      I got my Franklin Quest planner back in 1993 and I remember in 1997 when Franklin acquired Covey they expected to improve their market value which was around $21.00 a share but in 2003 it dropped to under $1.00 a share and they closed all stores nationwide except for one in Utah. Around 2018 they finally recovered to their 1997 high and finished around $28.00 a share but as of now who knows with COVID-19 and riots all over the country destroying everything. Personally I didn't see the use in adopting Covey's Weekly Compass concept since there was already of form of it in the Franklin system I felt it was an unnecessary redundancy but I tried it but never put it in use, the Franklin system was perfect the way it originally was. Also, I preferred Hyrum's books to Stephen's because they seemed to be less preachy.

    I found a set of her point of view inserts at office depot today. Ended up down the planner rabbit hole over the last year... I have tried so many different ones. Thankfully I need & love the structure

    Adding my thanks that you show functionality over decor. These instructional videos are few and far between. I've been a Franklin Covey user for more than 20 years, and it's only this year that I discovered it doesn't just have to be functional. I could also have the pretty stuff - AFTER (not shouting, just stressing) the work is done.

    I am looking into systems like this for managing my ADD symptoms. The GTD method sings to my soul, but my ADD sees starting it as a giant mountain. I am really learning to "just start with today". Getting stuff out of my head and into a place where I can tangibly See/touch/sort it will help so much with my anxiety about dropping the ball.

    Thanks for sharing how you use the Franklin system. I like that you're video is about the planning system vs. decorating. I've been using Franklin since the brick and mortar store days and miss being able handle the product and view it up close.
    The social media I go to first is Facebook; then Pinterest and CZcams. I use Twitter least. I usually only use Twitter when there is breaking news.

    I use CZcams only. I to miss the Franklin brick and mortar stores. I like Franklin's new planner love line. Gorgeous and functional. Plus the binders have two pen holders in them unlike other planner brands.

    CandiKCan: Very helpful and thank you. One question: I see that you use the Classic size. Since it's rather large for carrying around to different meetings and so forth, how do you manage that? Or does yours stay in one place, say on your desk? But then how do you reference it when you don't have it with you? Thank you! This has been a major problem for me with this size, but otherwise I like it and would prefer that it were more portable!

    Love the Franklin planners. I started using a Franklin planner when the company was known as FRANKLIN QUEST. I've used one most of my adult life.
    I touch on Facebook, but usually only allow myself a few minutes. I go to Pinterest when I'm wanting ideas or help with something. I watch a ton of You Tube, but that could be because we do not have any tv service. I've just started on Instagram- I guess I really don't get it, yet. lol

    Hi, Thanks for taking a journey into your Franklin Planner. I have a question for you; How do you handle daily tasks that haven't been done for the day? Do you rewrite them to the next day and keep bringing them forward to the next day until it's done? It would seem a redundant task to rewrite them over and over again. Thank you

    • @candikcan1720
      @candikcan1720  Před 7 lety +3

      On that particular task, I will put an arrow which notes I "moved" it forward, but actually on the next day I just note "re: _____" with the previous day's date. THAT let's me know to look on yesterday's page to see to what I am referring. Does that help? Thanks for watching!!!

    Would like to know your thoughts on whether you feel the larger size planner (Monarch) might be too large and has too much space? Does the classic offer more than enough space? I'm trying to decide on my first planner and am caught between the 2 sizes.

    • @candikcan1720
      @candikcan1720  Před 7 lety

      the classic has a good amount of room...plenty for me. as a disclaimer, tho, i have never had nor used the Monarch size.

    • @agigcbo
      @agigcbo Před 7 lety +1

      Well, I pulled the trigger and just ordered my first bundle and binder from Franklin Planner in the classic size. I think the Monarch size might be a bit too much. We shall see. I'm excited to get started. Does the bundle come with directions on how to correctly set up/organize the sections? Or is that totally subjective? Their website doesn't really give you a good idea of how to set it up.

    • @candikcan1720
      @candikcan1720  Před 7 lety

      first, CONGRATS...bet you are SO EXCITED!!!! great question about directions. i've used their planners for so long, i don't EVEN pay any attention to whether instructions are included. if you run into issues, call the company...that would be the first source for good, solid set-up info! YAY for you!

      @candikcan1720  Před 8 lety +1

      +aurelio persone this is a Franklin Planner, classic size. so if your 7 habit daily planner is a classic size and from Franklin you should be OK. the Franklins are relatively unique in their 7 punch binder system. hope that helps.

      Thank you so much!
      Mine is just like yours!

      Perfect!
      I bought my in 2001, but never used it again!
      As it is still beautiful I want to go back using it!
      Cheers thank you

      CandiKCan, FC is actually not unique in its 7-hole system. That is the standard configuration for most "North American" planner brands in that size (such as DayTimer, Day Runner, etc.) Outside of Canada and the US though, a slightly different page size and ring configuration is used, which is called A5. "Half-letter"'size is the North American version of A5 size, but the dimensions are slightly different. And of course, A5 uses 6-ring systems, while half-letter size uses either 7-ring or 3-ring binders.

    • @candikcan1720
      @candikcan1720  Před 7 lety

      Just so others are TOTALLY AWARE, many systems are 6 ring binders...MANY!!! BUYER BEWARE and check out both binder and hole punches on the pages to make sure each is compatible with the other!!!

    Advice: on the days you have no plan, go through the previous lists that you may not have accomplished as you planned to days earlier, get those caught up. If things are all caught up, clean the house. If that is already done, go through the planner itself to plan future dates, get ahead of it. If not need to do that, read your bible, have bible study with your Creator; one on one (He'd really love that). If not that, Go for a walk, read another book, watch CZcams videos of other people. Take a nap. Sometimes you do need to have a day of and spend time with only yourself; make it be only your day. Take a break from everything and everyone. Bake cookies.
    I never plan anything anymore because eveery single time I planned, when that day came, there was always things in the way that prevented me from getting my plan done that I have planned in previous days. So, besides making future appts, I only take one second at a time. That's all I do.Majority of the time when I'm at my house, I'm always on the Internet, watching CZcams videos, place games on Facebook, and check my email. The other thing I do is, go and hang out at my friend's house. We stay and do things at his house, run errands together, do things outside during spring and summer time. Some in the fall , too. Other times, I sleep a lot. That's what I do every day.
