Haha! I wouldn't be too discouraged. We have no regrets. It's actually easier to change the oil than our Audi RS3. My wife's dream car is a 911 turbo S and even that has a plastic oil pan. Just shocking.
@@davidkrueger3227 Nope, as long as you use the proper rated oil. You're allowed to change your own oil as long as you do it on the recommended intervals.
For God sake. You have a AMG. Use a PROPER oil filter brand like: MANN, Mahle or Hengst. If not, then get one from the dealership. Besides that, glad you got the oil changed minus the spills. You learn a lot the first time and that is apart of the experience.
oh, amg 1000 break-in is just for the car to learn your habits, brake wear, tire wear. the oil you replaced is the best for your car and doesn't need changing in 1000 miles. You will need to change your differential oil at 2000 miles.
Don't worry. they have low resale value. A lot can afford an AMG after a few years. I can afford to take this to the dealer for an oil change, but doing myself just feels better.
I do not understand why somebody is doing the oil change in his garage ,instead of going to a Mercedes‘ Benz shop. The car so expensive and you can loose all of your Garantie doing this by yourself . Somebody who can afford this car should have the money for a perfect work in a Benz shop. Sorry
I have trust issues with mechanics as I have many terrible stories about them, but mainly because I like to do the work myself (as much as I can). It's a satisfaction about it. I like working with my hands. Maybe you're the one who does not like to do things yourself and pay someone to it is all.
@@tranjen You and I are extactly alike. I rebuilt and raced cars/engines in my teens. I can't tell you the bad luck I've had with techs who care less than I. I only take my vehicles in when absolutely necessary. I'm 55, have made a whole lot of money, and yet still do this stuff on my own. My shit is tight, always - no mistakes. The gentleman above who made the comment about "perfect work" at a Benz shop?! Please...
Informative video and also funny when you were trying to find the plug
You need a transmission drain pan to collect the engine oil for this type of oil drain plug and oil filter to avoid the mess.
Thanks for the tip!
I just took delivery of a 2022 AMG GLE 63S. I suspect the change is very close to yours. I like the quick jacks-may need to get them.
Congrats Don! That car is a BEAST. The oil change should be near identical. The Quick Jacks should be a great addition to your garage.
I will definitely not going to do this one my self that's for sure : 😂
Thank you for this video brotha! You just conviced us not to buy this car.

Same thing happens to me on my RS3 and I’m about to change my oil on the GLC 63. You need to get your floor some epoxy 😅
Oh sh87t I love it ;)🤣
Possibly voided your engine warranty by using a non-Mercedes oil filter

There's no way to do this in a less messy manner? That seems like a nightmare.
It was definitely an experience! I would do it a lot better the 2nd time for sure.
Globalement il a bien fait les choses, il a juste pas bien positionné son bac c'est tout
How much engine oil for GLC63S?
That depends what deal you get. Prices are different in everywhere. If you're asking about oil capacity then it's 9.2 quarts of oil.
