    Great insights on an interesting knife. This and the Socom are both overbuilt and well designed. I would have loved to see parts of the re-assembly, such as lubrication points, if needed.

    I purchased this knife almost as soon as it was released. I looked for a disassembly video for months finally gave up. I was afraid to take this apart without seeing someone else do it first. The usual void your warranty stuff. So I really appreciate the take down video. Would you post a video putting it back together. That would be awesome. I’m kind of paranoid, did I mention the void your warranty taking this apart stuff?

    Cool breakdown. I wouldn’t recommend handing a stitch to a kid though lol. I’ve let 2 adults open mine and both of them dropped it from the kick of the action, which made me cringe to say the least, also had to repair my point and edge. I wouldn’t hand any auto knife to anyone that is not a knife enthusiast anymore.. people underestimate the power even when warned.

      Yes. It will function as a manual button lock without the spring. You'd basically press the button and swing the blade out manually, then press again and let it swing closed under its own weight.

      I have several stitch’s personally and to be honest their pretty darn nice auto knives one of my favorite designs. Worth 300-400 dollars compared to other knifes in the same price range I would say yes based on overall unique design and quality construction.
      That said, I do agree TI handles would have been a great touch to add vs aluminum and price wise I think they could have did that.
      Washers really aren’t need the bushing design and strong spring fires crazy smooth and fast. Washers are mainly for adding smoothness on folders if the Stitch fired any smoother or faster the blade may shoot off into space. LOL
      Overall, it’s a great knife and surprising it carry’s pretty well in the pocket for its size thanks to shape and good pocket clip. Draw backs it’s a heavy duty knife at 6oz’s and has a lot of blade steel to it making it wider folded.$350-$400 is a lot of cash for most folks looking to buy a knife also.

    Very cool knife but not a keeper. My Socom Tanto dated 1999 , very heavily used is still fantastic.
    I'll either sell the Stitch or beat it to death to see how it holds up. My PM2 is actually much more useful

  • @richardsalinetrojr1957

    How tf did you get the pivot to break free? I've tried 3 different bits (broke 2 of them) and can not get the pivot to even break free. Almost feels like they used a whole freaken bottle of red loctite on the damn thing or like both sides are captive. If I can't take this thing apart to service it, its gone because I'm not gonna own a knife I can't service myself without damaging it.

  • @richardsalinetrojr1957
    @richardsalinetrojr1957 Před 7 měsíci

    Really starting to think my auto Stitch was taken apart and reassembled with a shit ton of red loctite sometime after it left the factory and got to me. every auto Stitch I've seen so far has the 3 ringed blade stop as the blade stop whereas mine has the single ring spacer as the blade stop and the 3 ringed barrel (the actual blade stop) as the rear spacer. I also pretty much destroyed my pivot to the point it has to be sent back and replaced because of how tight the damn thing is. I broke 3 bits trying to remove the pivot and also broke 2 of the torx teeth off the pivot itself and the damn pivot never budged whatsoever. pisses me off that I have to send it back (not only giving up knife for how long but now something I'm probably going to have to pay to fix) espcially considering this is my very first Microtech purchase. 2nd Microtech purchase was the MSI and not happy with that either due to the ram lock failing. really starting to wonder why everyone loves Microtech so much because I'm far from happy with my 2 purchases so far.
