#Geely is a Chinese brand that debuted back in 1997. With it now owning Lotus and Volvo, it is interesting to see if Geely can finally step up its game and seriously rival the Japanese and Korean markets. The #EmgrandX7Sport offers a lot for its money! You get a panoramic sunroof, two digital displays, LED daytime lights, four-wheel drive, Hill Descent Assist, and many other features.
I really enjoyed my time with the X7 and I advise you to consider it if you're looking for a budget SUV. The new Geely Emgrand X7 Sport launched in 2017 and remains the same for 2019!

Geely yet has a long way to be compared to it’s european rivals but it’s starting somewhere, just like korean cars were 20 years ago. Thank you for sharing your honest review concerning the pro’s & con’s of this vehicle. I only wish you could testdrive every other car you review in order to give your audience a better experience. 💯💯
Thank you for commenting! Geely is moving slowly but surely. No doubt that in a few years, they will control the whole Chinese market and hopefully offer even better vehicles to rival the Europeans.

Geely cars are being known worldwide for his best and new design.. Its a cool car.. I personally love it.
Feline designs are a specialty of Jaguar. Geely has still got a long road, obviously. Copycatting Porsche and Land Rover still does not do it to me.
Build quality is a high concern especially that you said that the steering wheel started to wear out after 18,000 kms only! I wonder what will go wrong at just 50,000 kms!
The car is not that cheap, so I'd buy a one or two year old used CR-V or a Rav4 over a new Geely with no hesitation especially that resale value of the Chinese brand isn't quite encouraging.
Great job young man, you definitely like to critique cars properly not like other tv personalities (and I mean all of them) we have watched for years who are boring, repetitive, and don't point out the bad just like the good.
I hope you keep it up and always try to improve!
I appreciate you taking the time to comment! I agree that Geely could improve immensely and offer a better overall package to make it as appealing as other manufactures. But let's not forget that Geely has done a lot of work in this Emgrand X7 by offering class leading technologies and a pleasant drive; despite the relatively high price.

Leather steering wheels are supposed to look matte. I.e. the condition of the leather on the steering you showed was what a new or newer leather steering wheel should look. They start to look shiny as wearing starts to set in after certain usage. Hand/sunscreen lotions quicken the onset of shiny spots. Also, note that the leather on German luxury cars, say BMW, comes in one piece, instead of the three pieces often found in Asian and American cars.

The instrument panel is similar to the Volvo. Very cool vehicle.

I have emgrand x7 2014 model any one know how to increase fuel average in this car its giving me only 8 to 9 km/liter only in Saudi Arabia
Are the spare parts easily available in SAUDI and reasonable ? how do you find it after 6 yrs ? problems ?
To make the fuel efficient, just....dont drive often 😁.... if you have echo mode on your driving selection use it.

Hello! Well in recent years, Geely started to get a wider recognition over here in the Middle East even though they've been around for over 10 years. However, Korean and Japanese manufacturers are still more popular here in Lebanon and outselling the Germans. We also get other Chinese brands such as Changan, Cherry, Gac, Jac, Baic, and others.
