Since becoming a Christian some 45 years ago I have heard many people say that the Bible contains a lot of errors and contradictions. But after studying the texts and the relevant languages and cultures of the time, I have seen that these peoples understanding of the scriptures is faulty, not the scriptures. As someone once said, "you should not simply read the Bible, you must study it!".

Many times too they are just lying about actually reading the Bible. They read a verse alone by itself and then call out that verse for being wrong without understanding the Bible is a BOOK and you need the pages around it that led up to that verse, or explains the verse after.

We are not a people of a book like the Muslims. We are people of the truth which is a person and not a book. So you must study the scriptures and understand the context of what is said to who and what were the circumstances. This God of the Bible stops evil both from immoral “others” and His own Hebrew people who turns away from Him.

2Tim.2:15 study ( not just read the world) The last part of the verse says to rightly dividing the word of truth. You have to separate what was told to the Jews and what is being told to the gentiles. Keep them separate and there won't be any contradictions in the bible. example: the Jews were under the law, but the gentiles are not. Another example the Jews have their gospel of the kingdom of heaven preached by Jesus. The gentiles have the gospel of grace preached by Paul.

The same it is written he will judge starting from his own house first then the rest. The only difference between Gentiles and Jews is all the laws that they were given in order to make them aware of Sin & us we were not sacrificing animals through a priest for his sins and our sins. It's open for debate as to whether those in hell are sent, they or are they there by their own volition.
For yes indeed God sends people to hell. But is that sending passive or aggressive?
I lean towards the passive because there's many instances in the Bible. Where people are extremely uncomfortable to be in God's presence. If this is the case, then is it God's fault or is he unloving if there are some who are in hell?
By the way, the burning forever is a metaphor for the reality of hell. Being separate for eternity from the only source of intrinsic goodness, would be hell. People in hell will still have desires but these desires won't be met for eternity. All because this is what they chose. Do you want to be your own God and be autonomous? Why'll have an eternity to do so, God will respect your wishes.
Accepting Jesus and what he did for you is nothing more, than allowing you to remain in his presence for eternity.

By the time of the flood violence filled the earth know one knew of the true God except Noah and his family. God had to destroy this race of corrupted people. Totally agree the Bible is not something you can just instantly understand in it's entirety. When I first tried to read it in my 20s I simply couldn't. To me it was a bunch of old tales a bit like the myths and legends of the ancient Greece. Later in life after difficult situations, looking at consequences of people's actions, facing the outcome of my own choices I started grasping what the Bible actually is about. And a lot more started making sense after reading books by people who studied it all their lives. That's why channels like this are so important.

I never really had that issue. I had some very good pastors. Good teachers. Most of the Bible is very litteral and relatable. I started reading it in my teens. It's seems cut and dry to me, except for Revelations and a couple of the Old Testament books.

It's easier to treat it more like folk tales told by your grandpa. Right next to his own personals stories which may contain actually useful knowledge and wisdom, or his personal bias and prejudice on things. Remember "God" can have regrets (Gen 6:6)

But when you love Jesus, evil isn't in your heart like those without. To be Christian means, " to be like Christ." You still do wicked things, because we all fail his standard. But because we love Him, we have guilt, we repent. Jesus will except you like we fo a child. We tell them not to do it again, then send them on their way. We never stop loving our children, even when they stumble. It's very hard to love Christ and do anything you want without remorse. If you can, you simply don't love Him.

Except of course that Frank is WRONG! A New Moon Day, Sabbath Day, and any Holy Day is just as important to believers today as it ever was. Frank is confused between the laws pertaining to sacrifice and oblation - which Hebrews used to cover their sins, until the Messiah came to cleanse us of sin with His blood Sacrifice.
It was God who created the Sabbath Day in Genesis, but then later He reminded Moses and the Hebrew slaves in Exodus 20. In fact the reason why the Hebrews were slaves of Egypt for so long, was that the Hebrews refused to keep Gods Holy Days.
Now, if Cain & Abel didn't know Gods Commandments, then how could they know that they were sinning, and if they didn't know that they were sinning, then why were they offering sacrifices to God? If they didn't know Gods Holy Days, then how did they know the correct day to offer sacrifices to have their own SINS covered?
If those same Commandments were not known to the pre-flood humans, then how could a JUST GOD, determine that they were evil and worthy of death? How did that same JUST GOD determine that Noah and his sons were righteous and worthy of salvation during the flood? In fact why does it say in the New Testament, that we have to REPENT OF SIN, if Gods 10 Commandments don't apply to us anymore? If entering Gods REST that He established at Creation was not commanded, then how is it that all of the Apostles and Disciples continued to observe them to arrive at the day of Pentecost in Acts 2? You can only calculate the correct day of Pentecost by observing Gods Calendar that He placed into the heavens above; which begins by observing the first crescent moon after the Spring Equinox, when the Barley crop is sufficiently ripe to harvest for the Firstfruits Offering, so they observe the 1st Crescent and celebrate it with a Feast called New Moon Day, followed by 6 working days, then a Sabbath Day = 8 days, then another 2 days and they must select a lam without spot or blemish on the 10th day, ready to sacrifice in the evening of the 14th day, just after the Sun had set on the 13th day, then the 14th day is Passover when Hebrews fled egypt, followed by a Sabbath Day on the 15th day of the 1st Month which God calls ABIB.
So Frank might appear to be a clever guy, and has some very clever answers, but he himself is a FOOL when it comes to knowledge of Gods Calendar and the importance of Holy Days! This is true of all people who have been DECEIVED to worship or follow or pay homage to THE IMAGE OF THE BEAST. You see Frank follows the Roman Calendar, a FALSE IMAGE or LIKENESS of what God placed into the heavens above - to be our Calendar (Genesis 1:14). Even Frank admits that IDOLATRY is still a Commandment taught in the New Testament, and the Roman Calendar is IDOLATRY according to the Commandment. So when Revelation 9 says that they repented not of their IDOLATRY, now you know what it means, because no real christian is going to willingly engage in IDOLATRY, which is why Rev 13 says that they were DECEIVED, just like Eve was DECEIVED to break Gods Law.
Just think for a minute, why does Paul say in Acts 18:21 ...I MUST BY ALL MEANS KEEP THIS FEAST WHICH COMETH IN JERUSALEM....? Then again, why does Paul say this in Colossians 2:16 Therefore let no one judge you in regard to food, or in regard to drink, or in regard to a feast, or a New Moon, or Sabbaths, 17 These are a shadow of the things to come, but THE BODY THAT CASTS IT belongs to Christ. Doesn't Paul also say in Eph 5:30 that WE ARE MEMBERS OF HIS BODY?
What Paul is saying, is that if you are a Christian, and a MEMBER OF THE BODY OF CHRIST HERE ON EARTH, then don't let any man judge you for continuing to cast these shadows by observing Gods Calendar of New Moon Days, Sabbath Days, and Feast Days. Why does he say this? Because the Romans persecuted the Christians for failing to keep the Roman Calendar, and later the Popes persecuted christians for failing to keep the Roman Calendar. Even Romans 14:6 states that if we don't regard a day to the Lord then we don't regard the Lord. Then in Hebrews 4:9 There remains, then, a Sabbath rest for the people of God. 10 For whoever enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His. 11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same pattern of disobedience.
Do you see it now? Frank is setting a pattern of DISOBEDIENCE by refusing the enter Gods Rest. God made the Sabbath, not Moses. Frank is teaching people to disobey God, and therefore is one of the many false teachers the Jesus warned us about. Frank can reason powerfully with Atheists, but cannot reason his own foolishness and disobedience.

      Fair enough
No, What youre' doing is this.....
You're making a false association. Based on nothing else other than FRANK IS HOLDING THE LECTURE, You paint him as A TEACHER
and by association, without knowing anything about the girl... She is then by default THE STUDENT (Effectively she is THE OPPOSITE of whatever frank is)
and yet.... She herself could be a teacher.
so Frank is a teacher of....... WHAT ??
Frank is not a teacher, A Teacher teaches you about subjects and concepts and gives you knowledge and they do not work against your best interest,
They also have qualifications to attest to their ability to teach as teaching requires a passing over of knowledge and as such IT IS IMPORTANT THAT KNOWLEDGE BE CONVEYED CORRECTLY AND ACCURATELY
Frank isn't a teacher, Frank is there for his own purpose, that is to Fuel his business,
Religion as a whole is not a subject worth taking, it doesn't teach you anything you can't learn anyway, I know.. I have a degree in religion
But even then, When you compare Frank to the Lecturer's i had in Uni.. IT'S STILL NOT THE SAME THING
Frank isn't a teacher, Frank is a PRESENTER
he is Presenting what he wants to present
You just paint him in a certain light

@@martinkuliza indeed, I can see how I could make a false association based on my limited experience, but it also seems possible to me that you are making Frank out to not be a teacher because he is giving a presentation for his own profit? I completely agree with you that the girl asking the question has just as much reason/right to be a teacher, especially because she seems (again from what I can see and hear) to care more learning in this one instance.
Maybe your religion degree and time at Uni has taught you differently about the association between teacher and student so maybe I could impose upon you to elaborate a little further. My question being this...
When someone (like me and the girl) asks another person (like you and frank) a question, does or doesn't that put the person asking the question in the the position (for lack of a better word) of "student" and the person answering the question in the position of "teacher" for the time it takes to ask the question and having it answered?
I would love to hear your thoughts on that!! I realize you have certainly written a lot already so if you already answered my question to your satisfaction (and I simply need to read your previous response more carefully) just let me know!! Thank you!! 😁😁😁

"but it also seems possible to me that you are making Frank out to not be a teacher"
I Understand.. However, i'm not doing that, frank ALREADY is not a teacher.
This is not a class room it's a Presentation Hall, HE IS PRESENTING and he is A PRESENTER.
Now... i am being genuine when i say this...
Frank is not teaching here, let's contrast Frank with let's say.... Jesus.
CAN WE AGREE THAT JESUS WAS A TEACHER ?
See. jesus would sit his disciples down AND ACTUALLY TEACH THINGS, New Concepts and what not.
is Frank doing that... ?? NO HE'S NOT
Frank is not teaching new concepts
Frank is not sitting people down to teach,
He is ALLOWING THEM to question him.
in the case of Jesus, he wasn't questioned as much as he taught, Therefore he was a teacher
Frank is not a teacher, and even if frank has a teaching degree, IN THIS CAPACITY, He is not a teacher.
I'm not making him out to NOT be a teacher.
      He already isn't a teacher.
"because he is giving a presentation for his own profit?"
      right....
Frank has a business, Now, I also have a business LET'S CONTRAST IT.
I'm an Electrical and Electronics Engineer.
Now let's say , i said i'll teach you Basics of Electronics .
AND I CHARGE YOU A FEE.
Hell, let's even say that i charge $200 PER PERSON for the class and there are 100 people in attendance in the hall.
OK, so that's a decent amount of money
      THE DIFFERENCE IS THIS....
      - The subject that i'm teaching GIVES ME NO INCENTIVE TO LIE TO YOU, so .. When i teach you Circuit Theory (For example) I have no incentive to lie and make shit up.
      - Frank however, runs a business and the business model is .. PITCH RELIGION and in order for longevity of business HE HAS TO DEFEND IT,
He is Incentived, NOT TO TELL TRUTH, but to say WHATEVER HE NEEDS TO TO PRESERVE HIS INCOME.
As for me , I only need Electronics fundamentals to exist for my business to prosper
so yeah. I'm saying he's not a teacher
he is a businessman and a Presenter and he Presents for Profit
let's put Frank in the same basket as Greg Secker (The Forex Guy)
I know for a fact that Greg is full of shit, His course doesn't work, IT'S BASED ON A LIE, Now if you understood trading i could explain it, But... i won't bore you unless you want to know.
the point is.. both have an incentive to lie, Greg however ties up a person contractually and gets you to give him $6,000 a pop
Frank plays the game where he will pitch, YOU DON'T NEED TO PAY ANYTHING
and yet.. EVERY CHRISTIAN HAS PUT MONEY INTO RELIGION , haven't they ?

There are many gods in the Bible and only the God of this world, the devil, commands humans to kill other humans - the bible actually says that the devil came to Moses and gave him the Mosaic Law, it is in the character of the devil to order men to kill other men when the devil gives them lands in exchange for worship. The Most High, the Father and the Son do not order deaths as we can clearly see Yeshua ordered no deaths or did He kill anyone and He is the exact image of the Father, the Father and the Son are the same. If we think the father and son are playing good cop bad cop then we do not know the real Father and Son like Israel still does not - they rejected them both. Yeshua stated in John 8:44 who Israels father literally was. The willfully blind have skipped over the verses that show this truth as they are brainwashed to believe what man says the bible says - we must not put our faith in man but in Yeshua alone.

@@Daily_Dose_Of_Wisdom When someone presumes to judge God by pretending they're more moral than he is, they're making a huge mistake; but it's usually born of ignorance. As you point out, context is important. In fact, to understand the Old Testament, context is just about everything. Without it, you're most likely going to misunderstand it. There's actually layers of context, from the singular, to the plural, to the overall which encompasses everything right from the beginning.
We are all literally connected by a long chain through our DNA to every one of our ancestors going all the way back to Adam and Eve. When we are conceived, we inherit everything in that chain, both good and bad. We don't see that chain, but God does. He sees it in absolute detail; every component, every value transferred. He knows all the individual influences each of us have inherited, and he can see trends. Like Frank Turek said, God has reasons for doing what he does. He's not capricious. If you don't understand why God did something, try asking him. You may or may not get an immediate answer, and you may or may not even understand it necessarily. Your lack of understanding is a deficiency you have, not a failure on God's part to perform to whatever standard you're trying to judge him by.

This woman asked the question that most think about but are afraid to ask because when you do people chastise you most of the time. They do this because they themselves don't know the true answer which in itself isn't easy to understand. Frank does a great job of explaining it. I know people that when you ask them do they know the bible they say yes, I read it once, so I don't need to read it again as if they know everything in it. Just like any book you miss things and you not only need to read the bible but pray for understanding of it. This has worked for me as I try to read the bible at least entirely once a year if not twice. I'm amazed every time that I read it I learn something new that I can apply to my everyday life.

that's a good habit! I myself have a good memory so I've not been reading as often as I should, in reading it more recently it is surprising, the new insights you can get and the things you missed and didn't see the first x number of times looking at scripture. Just today I think I had a really neat revelation, concerning types/metaphors
came from Alex pagani, in a book on deliverance and spiritual warfare, mentions sometimes when the Bible says one thing, some term, there's a chance it's just talking about it literally, and other times it could be referring to something else. I.e., don't muzzle the oxen while they tread. That's an OT command, but Paul says, God was not only speaking of oxen, was He? Was He not referring to us? (in terms of providing financial support to ministry workers, or also enjoying some of what you earn). Alex takes that further to say, hey now when I see oxen in the Bible, it's possible that it's only referring to oxen, BUT there's also a chance it could be referring to ministry workers
there's other instances like this as well. I'd like to do a more dedicated study on it, but I think Alex is into something
Jesus refers to His body as a temple, and in NT letters it mentions that as well. A house can be referred to that as well
Or the Holy Spirit is often referred to as water

Fact is, I'm sure, as recent events might show, the Canaanite children that survived Moloch were schooled in that very same horror show and would live to a) avenge their parents' deaths, b) seek to corrupt Israel with their practices, and c) do the very same thing themselves.

God in the Old Testament divides the lands according to the sons of God that those lands worshipped (Dt. 32:7-9). This was an act of kindness, if you want to worship something else then go ahead. I will turn from you, and you do not have to be with me or be like me, although I am the most supreme high one who created all. God then chose a people, the lowest of the low of people to build up, so that all may be blessed. He walked with them at which point you cannot eat with demons and the table of God without destroying yourself. We cannot turn from who we are and expect to live. It is likened to suicide. To walk with the source of good and choose again what is evil, is to deny the source of life. Hell would be to always be present but separate in such goodness.

Except of course that Frank is WRONG! A New Moon Day, Sabbath Day, and any Holy Day is just as important to believers today as it ever was. Frank is confused between the laws pertaining to sacrifice and oblation - which Hebrews used to cover their sins until the Messiah came to cleanse us of sin with His blood Sacrifice.
But God created the Sabbath in Genesis, but then reminded Moses and the Hebrew slaves in Exodus 20. In fact the reason why the Hebrews were slaves of Egypt for so long, was that the Hebrews didn't keep Gods Holy Days.
However, if Cain & Abel didn't know Gods Commandments as Frank falsely asserts, then how could they know that they were sinning, and if they didn't know that they were sinning, then why were they offering sacrifices to God?
Then on the 16th Day comes Firstfruits, then they must count another 7 Sabbaths, and keep the 1st Day of the week after the 7th Sabbath. Frank is deceived and therefore Frank is lying.
Even Frank admits that IDOLATRY is still a Commandment taught in the New Testament, and the Roman Calendar is IDOLATRY.
Then again, why does Paul say this in Colossians 2:16 Therefore let no one judge you in regard to food, or in regard to drink, or in regard to a feast, or a New Moon, or Sabbaths, 17 These are a shadow of the things to come, BUT THE BODY THAT CAST IT belongs to Christ.
What Paul is saying, is that if you are a Christian, then don't let any man judge you for continuing to cast these shadows by observing Gods Calendar of New Moon Days, Sabbath Days, and Feast Days.

So god creates man. God gives man free will. Since god is all knowing he is aware of what each man and woman will do. God then punishes man with a totally loving sentence of death for doing what god already knew he was going to do.
An all knowing, all powerful, and all loving god who can do anything decides to condemn a man or woman to a life that will end up with that person’s death at the hands of his creator. That’s brilliant.

I Am the Bread of Life: he that cometh to Me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on Me shall never thirst... I Am the Door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture... Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it... I Am the Good Shepherd: the Good shepherd giveth His life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I Am the Good Shepherd, and know My sheep, and Am known of Mine. As the Father knoweth Me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear My voice; and there shall be one fold, and one Shepherd. Therefore doth My Father love Me, because I lay down My life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of My Father... My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand. My Father, which gave them Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand. I and My Father are One... I Am the Resurrection, and the Life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this?.. I Am the Light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the Light of life... And this is the condemnation, that Light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than Light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the Light, neither cometh to the Light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the Light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God... Ye must be born again... Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of Water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit... If ye believe not that I Am He, ye shall die in your sins... If any man come to Me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after Me, cannot be My disciple... Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn Him to death, And shall deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify Him: and the third day He shall rise again... And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God... All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out... No man can come to Me, except the Father which hath sent Me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto Me... Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I Am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls... Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto Me, except it were given unto him of My Father... As thou hast given Him power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given Him... And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day... Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also... Have ye not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder... Hearken unto Me every one of you, and understand: There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear... Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats? That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man... Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire... Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart... Repent ye, and believe the Gospel...I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish... I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I Am He, ye shall die in your sins... @debbiewareing1178 The ancient Israelites *were* Canaanites or a mix thereof. Where do you think the divine council idea comes from, the 70 sons of God, the imagery, epithets and descriptions that Yahweh borrowed from El and Baal?
      ---------------------------------------------------------
Nevertheless, the historical reconstruction that El was the chief god of the Israelites is not indebted only to the testimony of the (rather late) biblical witness of P. *Numerous biblical texts attest to the fact that the titles, functions, and the imagery associated with the Canaanite god El, as revealed by the Ugaritic texts and the Canaanite myth of Elkunirša, were assimilated into the profile of the deity YHWH.* According to the Ugaritic texts, El was known for his *wisdom* (e.g., KTU2 1.4.V.65[6]) and *great age* (’ab šnm, *“Father of Years,”* and drd, *“Ageless One,”* in KTU2 1.4.IV.24 and 1.10.III.6, respectively),[7] his *compassionate nature* (lţpn il dp’id, *“Kind El, the Compassionate One,”* e.g., KTU2 1.16.IV.9), his role as *father of the gods and humanity* (’ab ’adm, *“father of humanity,”* KTU2 1.14..III.47, and bny bnwt, *“creator of creatures,”* KTU2 1.17.I.24) and *creator of the cosmos.* [8] El was the *divine King* (e.g., KTU2 1.2.III.5-6) and the *head of the pantheon or divine council* (referred to variously as the dr ’il, *“circle of El/Family of El,”* KTU2 1.15.III.19; mpħrt bn ’il, *“the assembly of the sons of El,”* KTU2 1.65.3; bn ’il, *“the sons of El,”* KTU2 1.40.33, 41; pħr kbbm, *“assembly of the stars,”* KTU2 1.10.I.3-4; ‘dt ’ilm, *“assembly of the gods,”* KTU2 1.15.II.7; cf. KTU2 1.2.I; 1.3V; 1.4 IV-V) which met at the sacred mountain. *His consort was the goddess Athirat who bore him seventy sons* (šb‘m bn ’atrt, *“the seventy sons of Athirat,”* KTU2 1.4.VI.46). El was also known for his *divine patronage and blessing of progeny to humans* (as in the Epic of Kirta; see, for example, KTU2 1.14.III.46-51), for his *appearances to humans in dreams* (e.g., KTU2 1.14.I.35-37), as *being a healer* (KTU2 1.16.V-VI), and for his *dwelling at the sacred mountain* (e.g., KTU2 1.2.III.5-6) at the *sources of the mythical rivers* (KTU2 1.2.III.4; 1.3.V.6; 1.4.IV.20-22; 1.17.V.47-48) in a *tent* (KTU2 1.2.III.5; 1.3.V.8; 1.4.IV.24; 1.17.V.49; c.f. the Canaanite myth Elkunirša which *describes El’s abode as a tent[9]).[10]*
*To underscore the fact that terminology and imagery originally used for the god El was adopted by the Israelites in their descriptions of YHWH,* the following brief summary might be placed in comparison to the discussion of El above: YHWH is an *aged, patriarchal deity* (Ps. 102:28; Job 36:26; Is. 40:28; Dan. 7.9-14, 22), *a father* (Deut. 32:6; Is. 63:16; 64:7; Jer. 3:4, 19; 31:9, etc.), *merciful and gracious* (Ex. 34:6; Jon. 4:2; Joel 2:13; Ps. 8615; 103:8; 145:8, etc.), *a divine patron who bestows the blessing of progeny upon Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,* often manifesting himself in *dreams or visions, a healer* (Gen. 20:17; Num. 12:13; 2 Kgs. 20:5, 8; Ps. 107:20, etc.), who *dwells in a tent* (Ps. 15:1; 27:6; 91:10; 132:3) *amidst the heavenly waters* (Ps. 47:5; 87; Is. 33: 20-22; Ez. 47:1-12, etc.), the *creator of the cosmos,* who is enthroned as *heavenly King* in the *divine council* (1 Kgs. 22:19; Is. 6:1-8; cf. Ps. 29:1-2; 82; 89: 5-8, etc.) on the *sacred mount of assembly* (e.g., Is. 14:13). Additionally, in much Israelite religious practice throughout the monarchic period, *YHWH had a divine consort, the goddess Asherah, the Hebrew equivalent of Ugaritic Athirat.[11]* (Originally the wife of El)

This is a mistake in my opinion. God doesn’t change His character and He cannot sin, so if He commanded something in the Old Testament, that means in some sense, no matter what the commandment was, it must be good. If the context for that command presents itself again in the modern day, we would be obliged to abide by those same commandment principles. To stray from this would be to accuse God of either changing His character or not being good. I think it is dangerous to pock and choose what we want to follow based on how many times something’s repeated.. God only has to say something once for it to carry weight. I know you agree these things are important, I am only stating my opinion.

@@toughbiblepassages9082 I also don't think that nothing in the Old Testament applies unless it has been corroborated so to speak in the New Testament.
Generally, scholars split the laws of Moses into three categories: Case Law, Ceremonial Law, and Moral Law. Case Law doesn't apply to Christians, since it is Israel-specific and would be impossible to implement in post-Israel culture anyway. Ceremonial Law can't apply either, since its purpose was simply to separate Israel from the nations around it. The ceremonial law was a way of marking the children of Israel as Holy and apart from the world. Christians have the Holy Spirit for that now.
Moral Law, however, certainly does still apply to Christians. God is the standard of morality. He embodies all that is good. Anything moral or good is a direct expression of God- and as stated above, God does not change. Therefore, any moral law stated in the Old Testament would still apply to Christians.
Now to be fair, I haven't found any Old Testament moral laws that aren't reiterated in the New Testament, so there's that. But I think we need to be careful when we're essentially discounting a large portion of the Bible as "not applicable to Christians."

I absolutely agree with his breakdown on the theocracy of God in the old testament. However at 6:02 when he says that Exodus to Deuteronomy does not apply to the Christian, where is get getting that from? If you read Isaiah 56 it clearly states that gentiles/strangers (that's us!) who take hold of the covenant shall be accepted of the Lord. We have to be careful when we state that something God wrote (i.e. the ten commandments) do not apply to us anymore:
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭56:1‭-‬8‬ ‭KJV‬‬
[1] Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed. [2] Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil. [3] Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. [4] For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; [5] even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. [6] Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; [7] even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. [8] The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.

This is an excellent answer to this young woman’s question about God being cruel. However knowing God is not only done intellectually, moreover it is through His and your spirit. The Bible tells us that we must worship Him in spirit and in truth. So mental ascent is not how one knows God, it is by having a personal relationship with Him that causes one to know that God is good. One of the actions of the Holy Spirit is to teach us about God. Intellect may help, but God works Spirit-to-spirit. And He bids everyone to come, taste and see that the Lord is good. God will always prove Himself, always. Peace

But God created the Sabbath in Genesis, but then reminded Moses and the Hebrew slaves in Exodus 20. nIn fact the reason why the Hebrews were slaves of Egypt for so long, was that the Hebrews didn't keep Gods Holy Days.
However, if Cain & Abel didn't know Gods Commandments, then how could they know that they were sinning, and if they didn't know that they were sinning, then why were they offering sacrifices to God?
Even Frank admits that IDOLATRY is still a Commandment taught in the New Testament, and the Roman Calendar is IDOLATRY. S when Revelation 9 says that they repented not of their IDOLATRY, now you know what it means, because no real christian is going to willingly engage in IDOLATRY, which is why Rev 13 says that they were DECEIVED, just like Eve was DECEIVED to break Gods Law.
What Paul is saying, is that if you are a Christian, then don't let any man judge you for continuing to cast these shadows by observing Gods Calendar of New Moon Days, Sabbath Days, and Feast Days.

And that is such a strong position to come from. I don’t know many things, but I feel vastly rich in saying “I know that HE is good.” And I want you to know that too. The strongest position that you can take against the enemy is to die in the hill of “no matter what you say to me, I KNOW GOD IS GOOD.” I just believe it is very disarming against the enemy. Another powerful position is thankfulness. One of the best things you can do is work on being genuinely thankful to GOD. I just felt blessed by your video. Those who research the bible very deeply learn a lot of things that were taught wrongly by the church. One example of this is where do our souls go when we die? I suggest that you get hold of a brief introduction to the Bible (which you may already be fully aware of).
It is a collection of books.
The first half: the so-called 'Old Testament' tracks the foundation of the world and man, the creature in God's image, falling from relationship with God. It then traces the moves through history to bring the Messiah who will restore the relationship broken.
The OT has the history of this people, their literature, including prophets who call them back to God. It shows God working his way through a corrupt and decaying world full of fury and wickedness to bring the Messiah to herald the Kingdom of God.
The New Testament is the collection of writings about and under the auspices of Yeshua (Jesus in the Greek translation. The English translation of Yeshua is Joshua) of Nazareth, the Messiah, who was God in human form.

Using covenental study, the Mosaic covenant , especially explained in Deut. is based on cursing and blessing, a conditional Covenant, a vassal type covenant. The New Covenant is based on Love not works and performance, but love and relationship!
