The fifth international conference on infrastructure and public works was held in Kigali Rwanda in 2018. The discussions focused on how to foster Africa's economic growth in the face of infrastructural challenges. Africa's growing public debt was also discussed. On this show we have highlights from the conference and lessons from Rwanda that Kenya and other countries can learn in different sectors of the economy.

There wasn't tribes to start with , all these were made up by colonizers.Rwandans never had tribes but rather clans in which each clan is named after its ancestor and all the clans ancestors descended from one man called Gihanga the father of all Rwandans, so i m surprised and shocked that an Afrikan reporter would rely on colonizers made up so called tribes when indeed they were social classes that were based on how many cows one has, and if any one reaches a certain number that was required they'd become a Tutsi.

This is what separates Rwanda from Kenya who allows the foreign governments to come in and take over while the slums are the largest was a plenty of able-bodied people to build in Kenya they would allow over a million foreigners into their country to do the very thing that they could do for themselves this is failure on a magnitude of incredible proportions.

I like when the lady said what does Africa need for Africa I like when a man said China knows what it needs from Africa but does Africa know what it needs from China the answer is Africa does not need anything from China Africa needs to rely upon itself as a continent instead of individualize countries Africa has everything it needs the continent but when you do utilize foreign superpowers 2 come to the negotiation table Africa losses.
You cannot be the richest continent on the planet and need the help of foreign governments it is not a balance scale Africa needs to utilize its resources north south east and west it needs to enter trade it needs one language for trading one currency for the economy it needs a 1 military to secure all of its borders and its resources this can be achieved it can be one continent Africa with many individual countries it is one body of black people and it is the continent that only black people have to call home we cannot continue to go forward believing that Africa is Mini people Africa is 1 people from north to south to east to west the indigenous black people on the continent it is a god-given right and everyone else is trying to take a piece of the pie and ownership of Africa moving forward China just a few decades ago was much like Rwanda but Rwanda does not need to repeat the way China earned its seat on the global economy we don't need Africa to become concrete and polluted are water land we need Africa to remain Africa while just allowing the building 2 satisfy the needs of the people we don't need Africa to become a democracy like America a monarchy like Europe definitely not a communist country like China and Russia we need Africa to establish a better system better than all of the superpowers currently have better humanitarian issues policing of the corruption and greed of the political under tones Africa needs to liberate herself completely from the west and the east completely Haiti these These are the places that we have that survived the colonies the colonization the oppressors Haiti is a country of Fighters we need to help Haiti grow without the superpowers we need to help all of the countries on the continent of Africa including Madagascar I say that because it's not technically attached but before the colonies came there were no divided lines like they are now so those lines need to be erased there is no such thing as the Middle East that that is a part of Africa we need to completely Liberate the continent from the superpowers it can be done I never felt so bad for a country as I felt was Zimbabwe when I saw the videos of its people welcoming back the colonizers giving them back their farmland and then the farmers asking for reparations I was sick to my stomach when you tear down a people to that point that they feel like they can't even feed themselves farming is a god-given innate ability from the moment Adam and Eve stepped outside of Eden they became farmers and for the colonizers to train this body of people to believe that they cannot Farm their own land just because the country is not completely liberated from the colonizers it is detestable it is sickening to watch in horror it's almost like watching slavery happen all over again and these people look to these colonizers as demigods coming to save them from starvation Qatar other disgusting just utterly disgusting

I was talking about the official languages in Rwanda, French is less used. English and Swahili have more importance in the new generation
And about the tribes, it has been eradicated. But normally the so-called tribes Hutu, Tutsi and Twa were actually social classes (it was used later by colonizers to divide and create conflicts between the Rwandese people)
Our real tribes, are not called tribes they are called clans and every Rwandan belongs to one of them, Hutu and Tutsi can be both from the Abega clan or from other clans, maybe not from the same house not the same ancestors.
The history of Rwanda is sometimes wrong interpreted, and it's our duty as Rwandese to make things clear where they are not.
      Thanks !

africa doesnt need to copy the west to develop itself. In fact we actually need to find our proper ways to development taking into consideration in the first place: preservation and protection of the environment. If it useless to copy western countries as they have failed to develop their countries. We can actually see now that capitalism is collapsing and more and more people are finding alternatives to this destructive way of live.
Africans need to look up to their ancestors and not to the west.

Jimmy Mtange to answer your question I want just starting by telling you that in Rwanda there are no tribes. But for some people who must pass by a certain understanding to get something, if there were tribes in Rwanda it would be one of Banyarwanda. So Kinyarwanda is a language spoken by Rwandans and here I mean all not "almost all" as stated in this documentary. The whole territory speaks that language. Everywhere you go in Rwanda, every person speaks that language because it's the only one that we have. We speak other languages of our neighboring countries according to the region. For example it's not rare to find someone from the Northeastern part of the country speaking Rukiga- Runyankole a Ugandan language that people from that side can learn to interact with their neighbors of the other side of the border. We also learn at school French and English languages brought by colonization and both have been integrated as official languages but used by educated people in working framework. We also integrated Swahili as official because it's an EastAfrican language. God bless you.
