- Apart from the Beatles ..Liverpool produced some great artists in the early 60's ..featuring Gerry and The Pacemakers, The Merseybeats, The Swinging Blue Jeans, The Big Three, The Fourmost, The Searchers, Billy J Kramer, Cilla Black, Rory Storm and The Hurricanes and The Quarry Men (The Beatles ..before The Beatles) and finally Gerry singing Ferry Across The Mersey !! Beat music, British beat, or Merseybeat is a British popular music genre that developed, particularly in and around Liverpool, in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The genre melded influences from British and American rock and roll, rhythm and blues, skiffle, traditional pop and music hall. No copyright infringement intended. Enjoyable video. Most musicians never make it this far. Played clubs and special events for years. One time for a living back when there were local gigs five nights or more a week. Still perform in my 70's when they come up. Unfortunately the demand for live music is just a shadow of what it once was.
Keep at it Dennis .. It is worth it for those that appreciate your efforts.

@@peteroberts4033 hi Pete, yes I did watch it, yes you Poms ❤️ beat us, but I still think it was great our girls got to the semi finals of the World Cup, all of Australia were behind the girls, I even wore green and gold to our charity ten pin bowling this evening, that’s where we watched the game, CONGRATULATIONS to England 🏴

@@peteroberts4033 Australia has really been about Aussie Rules footy and I was bought up with females, having 5 sisters so I was never into that game either, I was always a netball player, yes I must agree England 🏴 were brilliant, I hope they win the women’s World Cup 🏴
@@peteroberts4033 Pete going back to your music selection, the English did produce some excellent bands in the 60’s when I was a teenager, although I was very conservative
