    G'day from Adelaide, South Australia! Thank you so much Sarah and Ivan for your Croatian clips! We're flying to Croatia in early May 2023 and will be hiring a rental car in Zargreb and making our way down the coast and finishing in Dubrovnik. We'll have a few days in Zargreb, before travelling onto Rijeka, then Zadar, Split and ending in Dubrovnik. We'll have at least 2 to 3 days in each location. This will be our first time visiting Croatia and we honestly can't wait!
    I'm slowly going through your clips and trying to absorb as much information as possible and so far they've been very informative and a blessing! One thing we are doing when driving from Rijeka to Zadar, we'll be driving to the Plitvice Lakes before getting into Zadar that evening. We've already booked our park ticket for 11am too!
    Looking forward to seeing more clips! James 🙂

    Small correction about swimming in Rastoke.
    Slunjcica is very, very cold so no swimming there.
    But only a couple hundred meters away, one can go swimming in river Korana which is warm and it's waters flow directly from the Plitvice Lakes.

    Also, regarding Ryanair, Zadar is as well big Ryanair hub (have been for the last 10 years or so with around 50 destinations just with Ryanair to Zadar). Might be faster to check to Zadar connection from EU cities with Ryanair rather than Zagreb as you are already at Dalmatia where most tourist tends to go.

    Really would like to hear inside tips on public transport within Croatia. I'm tentatively planning to do Zagreb - Pula - Zadar - Split - Dubrovnik. Are the trains really as slow and the buses as awful as many reviews say? Is it feasible to take ferries between the coastal cities? Is it essential to book well in advance? Is it reliable to book online or is it better to book at the stations? Thanks.

  • @Texasnuevodka

    Would you recommend Istra, Hvar, or Brac? Land in Zagreb, driving to lakes before either I go direct to Istra or into Split to take a ferry from Split to Brac and/or Hvar. I was told not to spend time in Split but Istra, Brac and Hvar are a must. Any thoughts? Thank you for the tips, great videos!

    In Slunjcuca river, it's not recommendable to swim because it's a very near well opening. It's comparable with Moraine Lake in Banff, Canada 🇨🇦. How much is cold even during summer. Its very clean and potable water. One of the best for drinking in wide area! But Korana ruver very near is nice and enjoyable for swimming, especially if you have kids .

    • @HladniSjeverniVjetar
      @HladniSjeverniVjetar Před rokem

      We tend to eat and cook at home, so it very much depends on you what you want to cook. When it comes to restaurants you will have to check on their web page or calling in advance to ask what their policy is, since it differs from place to place. But I'd say most are willing to accommodate. What kind of nut allergy? Walnut, almond, peanut? If I'm not mistaken not all of the nuts are actually nuts.

    Please don't promote day trips to Slovenia, Montenegro and to some extent Bosnia. Slovenia has always impeded traffic on the border going to Croatia during the peak tourist season and Montenegro occupies a portion of the southern coast of Croatia given to them during the Yugoslav regime. Montenegro also attacked Dubrovnik where they mercilessly bombarded the town for months. Bosnia is downright unsafe to travel to, our friend got her purse stolen there in broad daylight in Mostar and travelers there sometimes just turn up missing. Just promote CROATIA, its surrounding countries are not necessarily "friendly" neighbors nor do they have Croatian interests at heart. Croatian tourists to Serbia have also gone missing with their family lucky enough to receive the bodies months later despite nobody even being charged for their murder.
