    Should work as described. I have used a similar approach to create windswept designs by turning the tree on its side and letting it grow that way a few seasons. Give that a try!

    "It's either going to work or be a huge failure..." ah, such is life my friend!
    I think this is brilliant, cant wait to see how it turns out, and how the trees manages to "correct" itself once re-righted. The only issue I would foresee is that to roots are now clamoring to grow "up", which is now "down," so they may be bungled around the trunk when you go to pull it out of the pot. Either way, push those limits. Cheers Jerome!!

    • @WeareTheBonsaiSupply
      @WeareTheBonsaiSupply  Před 2 lety +2

      Thank you my friend! Even if it is a huge failure, a new idea may come from that. The root issue has also crossed my mind, not sure if I can trick the roots to Grow upwards. However, I do know that roots grow towards nutrients so perhaps they will grow towards the top where the fertilizer will be applied. Time will tell🙂

    In the past I have used a mirror to direct light on to the lower foliage with noticeable results. I enjoy seeing new experimental approaches and breaks from tradition. It`ll be good to another interview too. I miss Nebari tv and the interviews with bonsai growers from differing backgrounds.

    Is there a full length of your musical introduction? It sounds little bit of New Orleans in it, mixed with a little contemporary, and a dash of funk added in. It sounds like great music for getting work done. But that may only be because I associate it with The Bonsai Supply’s fantastic work.

      @@WeareTheBonsaiSupply yes the reason for doing this is energy is mostly in the highest point of the tree and some cascading styles sadly get weaker in time in the bottom portion. this will bring the energy back to where it was lacking. Always good to talk with you bro

  • @sbragaglia
    @sbragaglia Před 2 lety +1

    That looks like a good idea! Curious to see how the experiment develops! Two questions/hypotheses to test: 1. Isn’t the top of the tree/bottom of the pot going to rot when watering, 2. Are the roots going to grow upwards after “bumping up” from the bottom of the pot, or downwards through the holes in the bottom of the pot?

    • @WeareTheBonsaiSupply
      @WeareTheBonsaiSupply  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey Stefano! These are great questions. Question 1. I highly doubt that because the water just runs off the trunk, also Bald Cypress tend to grow in water so I am not too concerned about that. Question 2.I would imagine that the roots will grow towards the top as that is the place where I will apply fertilizer and roots grow towards nutrients. Also, Think of trees that grow on cliffs, the shoot the roots upwards to anchor and secure themselves.
