    I'm an inhabitant of this planet who has no use for religion; some people do. As far as morality goes, you don't need religion to be good. What we all have is a drive to survive, and to accomplish that, we need to learn to get along. We are social beings.

    • @Y1836Y
      @Y1836Y Před 7 měsíci +2

      Rabbi Friedman doesn't t teach religion. He teaches Torah, which promotes a relationship with G-d, our Creator. There is no morality without G-d, since He gave us laws to follow. Prior to the 613 laws in the Torah, people were hedonistic and G-dless, doing whatever aberrant behavior they wanted to do. Being "good" is G-d's design, not man's.
      You may be here to survive, Jews are not. We all have a unique G-d given purpose, whether we know it or not, accept it or not, fulfill it or not. Yes, G-d created us as social beings, though what that means is important.

    • @Y1836Y
      @Y1836Y Před 7 měsíci

      Interesting that you think G-d didn't create morality. We wouldn't even think to be moral without Him. A severe lack of morals, an attitude of everything goes, literally, in every sense of the phrase, existed before Abraham "met" with G-d. We're living in a world that has progressed since then, though in some ways, not so much for over 3000 years.

    Hi Manis,
    The word "religion" in Latin means "re-binding", i.e. the restoration of the relationship between God and the human being.
    So, the Jews, with Judaism, are the most religious of all, because they have the right path. The rest of the cults that do not have this "re-binding" are not religious, they are just a wrong path.
    People do not know this yet, but they will be witnesses soon to the glory of God.

      No, religion brings separation, haughtiness, arrogance in the belief system and dissention, intolerance of nonbelievers. A lot of violence, torture and destruction has occurred oin the we name of religion, by way forced conversions or suffer and die by xianity and Islam. Not by Judaism, that discourages conversions since it's not necessary in order to.have a relationship with G-d and do what He wants and needs us to do. Judaism is not a religion, G-d forbid. That is different from "just" teaching. I am autistic, i suffered in my life from teachers in the scale of hell. If somebody can touch my feelings in transporting knowledge, that is, ..i can not find a propper word. Thinking in the middle beyond the middle of the center in the circles around. The Mishkan: When g-d reveales in veils. Hidden to be spoken. The tent is sealed for a view but not for the voice. The veil is presence not absence. Thus if you are still absorbed in you yourself, it means to be a true self without the volatile part of being not absorbed in symbiotic parts of the identity. And of cause "the biggest fan" means to feel - subjectively happiness the most, which at all is a true statement. I can not feel your happiness, thus mine is, for me the biggest one ! So, from my point of happiness, i am his biggest fan. Maybe you are his biggest fan too, so he has to biggest fans :) If everybody would be Hashems biggest fan, the world would be wonderful.

    I remember a jewish kid that had wanted chips and salsa when it was some holiday for unlevened bread like it was the pass over or something . The dad of the kid said you can't each chips and salsa on this day because corn was never part of the jewish diet at the time of moses. And the kid was like it is just fried flat bread made of corn no yeast. And the dad said no. Those taco chips are not part of this holiday. I wonder looking back at this if eating chips and salsa was too much like the christian communion thing where you have a cracker and some grape juice. Very good and inspiring speech. Very accurate description about the current state of religion. In view of current state of advances in understanding sciences and religions, it is a historic opportunity for talented people to work together for the purpose of making sciences and religions to be closer to the truths of the universe. For example, we must redefine what science is and what religion is. My version of definition is as follows: science is about the study of the material aspect of the universe, while religion is about the study of the spiritual aspect of the universe. In other words, the universe consists of at least two worlds: the world of matter (i.e., the focus of study by science) and the world of lives or souls (i.e. the focus of study by religion). Anyway, the civilization of the earth should move to a higher level by bringing science and religion together hand-in-hand so as to gain the understanding of the full face of the universe. This is the only way for us to make the earth to be a better place for all lives and souls.

    There is a video of a little boy dying from cancer.His parents were crying for him. It was xmas and he was looking forward to Santa coming.On his last day Santa came to speak with him as the parents watched from behind a window. As they spoke the little boy said ... My parents said I am dying. .Santa said but you are my helper He said REALLY? Santa said yes.When you get to the pearly gates and they ask you ..who you are? Tell them you are one of my helpers.The little boy said ,,could you hug me? Santa lifted him in his arms in a hug and the boy passed over. He needed a place to look forwaed to otherwise it would be darkness.Santa took him home. The parents were grief stucken.Its the other side of the coin.

    I discovered recently the teaching of the rabi. The meaning of the message is very profound, but i have a question:
    What is the difference between What He needs and His Will for me a non jewis person?
    Thank you .

    I want to ask a basic question to entire humanity, religious or non-religious. Why we need to follow a religion just to belief in God. Does God needs your religion? Does God needs your proayers? Your lifestyle your sins your good deeds? How can we associate the supreme intelligent being with a set of rules we call religion?
    I belief in God and his messengers, angels and demons he created.

    Rav sometimes we reach out to our own and no one helps so you reach those others that are of faith w hopes of help in Dior situations. I even called your office.
    But I see that time breaks through, Judaism is NOT a religion . I believe that. There is no better place. Down to earth IS the goal. When we do and we r surrounded by unmerited hate. Even when open minded and embracing. Otherwise why hamas.

    Very cute and entertaining. The Almighty, however, created the world not out of 'a need', but of the essence to do good, to bestow life to a creation. With its creation, the Almighty has desires for and of that creation. A desire/"need" on His part arises from/with the creation.

    • @Y1836Y

      Interesting. You're correcting people, Jews, who spoke directly to G-d? Who learned what He needs from Him, in the Torah. And continued to get knowledge from G-d recorded in our other sources.
      So the purpose of people being here is what? To do good? To what end? G-d created our souls in heaven then sent us all here to endure and enjoy, to go back to heaven? All for the purpose of doing good? Not reasonable or logical
      And what's the purpose, the goal, the end result, of doing good here on earth? Why leave heaven to occupy a body to do it? Why go back to heaven? Why not stay there? Why all this pain people endure? What is the good in that?

    • @marcosb5850

      First, because an individual is a rabbi does not mean that everything he believes or thinks that he knows or understands is correct. No one posting videos or comments here on CZcams should have the expectation that what is presented should go unchallenged.
      The Almighty's essence is "good/truth". It is in the nature of "good" to bestow. The Almighty's essence of "truth/goodness" brings expectations of His creation to embrace/express His "truth" and "goodness".
      People are meant to experience life, while embracing what is good and recognizing its Divine source. As Rabbi Friedman, himself, recognizes and expresses, life on earth is the more desirable and ultimate existence. We are human beings, bodies and souls; not souls alone. The end result of doing good on earth elevates the individual, others, and the creation as a whole. It brings satisfaction and pleasure to the Almighty. What can a disembodied soul do? Heaven is meant as a temporary abode.

    We are not created nor do we come into being, we are cognitive events grounded in spatial substances formed human-wise. Substances cannot emerge from that which it is not, as this contradicts ex nihilo nihil fit and emergence from that which it is, refers to becoming, not being. Therefore, to suggest becoming causes being makes a category error.
    Let's start with the most foundational assertion i.e. 'cogito ergo sum'. While this statement offers a starting point for understanding reality, a deeper examination reveals that these acts of conceptualizing and thinking are themselves, dynamic in nature. This strongly suggests that the brain-mind identity theory, supplemented by functionalism, makes it more likely than not, that mental states are, in fact, physical events.
    This allows us to circumvent the dualistic problems of interaction, making it more simplistic and parsimonious. This identity theory has not just rational support but an empirical basis suggesting a causal relationship that transcends mere correlation. For if we use an skeptical approach to the problem of causation, we futher suport the view that mental states are not caused by physical events but are identical to it. It would only be a mere linguistic distinction buried in semantics.
    If we delve further into the realm of metaphysical possibilities, it seems all strict logical possibilities occur within one single metaphysically possible world. To extend this thought, we can reasonably collapse the distinction between metaphysical possibility, physical possibility, and actuality. Thus, whatever is metaphysically possible is actual. This stance challenges the unverifiable assumption that allows for a myriad of metaphysical possibilities disconnected from empirical investigation.
    By further applying Hume's dictum, which asserts that there are no necessary connections between distinct existences, we can dissolve the supposed conundrum so labelled a 'hard problem'. Consciousness, in this view, is not a mysterious, non-physical entity for which we must posit a non-material substance but a series of physical processes grounded in a physical substrate that seems necessarily dependent on it before its development into any recognizable function. To claim otherwise, to posit a realm of metaphysical possibilities detached from physical actuality, is to engage in a form of special pleading and existential fallacy, attributing to the mind qualities that are unobservable and unfalsifiable. This position not only muddies our understanding of consciousness but also threatens our commitment to an objective, empirical understanding of reality. In summary, by embracing such a view, we arrive at a more coherent and practical worldview which allows us to distinguish between the real and the imaginary.
