I am working on getting my Hawk titled, my MCO didnt come notarized and I was concerned about that. I do have insurance and bill of sale as well as MCO. I was also going to get it inspected before I went to the DMV for plates and title.

    • @TyposGarage

I think you'll have to have the registration before you can get it inspected. So, the title stuff at the DMV will have to come first. That is the case in PA, atleast.

I just got mine titled with a new license plate Monday two days ago I took my certificate of origin my proof of insurance it does have to be insured before they will issue a license plate my bill of sale my drivers license and some money everything cost me( $118.00 )
But I live in ❤️Sweet home Alabama ❤️ ... 👍 , and they don’t give us too much shit about emissions or other crap ...!!!
I was in and out of the DMV in 20 minutes the gal did come out and take a look at my VIN number on the motorcycle, when I talked to my insurance company ( progressive ) , I explained what a ( dual sport motorcycle was to my agent ) , I have been with progressive with all of my motorcycles for 21 years.....! To put my HAWK on my insurance with my three other motorcycles was a ( extra two dollars every three months.....!!!! ) my paperwork for my motorcycle arrived three days after my bike did I immediately called my insurance company and gave them the cc and the VIN number....! ((“ do not tell your insurance company it is a “DIRT BIKE” that is street legal ...! ))
insurance companies , most all of them will N O T ensure dirt bikes ...! use the term ( dual sport ) , when talking to your insurance company it makes the conversation and your Life a whole lot easier.............!!!

I live in pa also . As of 2021 the state is now strictly enforcing
    The California c.a.r.b. emissions
standards . Anyone out there ,
If you live in one of the 13
    California carb compliant states
which are mostly located in the
northeast , they won't register or
Title you got if your new scooter , and mco paper doesn't clearly show
It was certified thru California .
    By California certified , it's c.a.r.b.
    Compliant .
Sometimes this means a carb certified label stamped on your mco , other times you will have an added
Stamp of notary on the mco from
    California , containing the pedigree
of your bike being proper for carb.
    compliance. anyone got questions
I'd be happy to elaborate. The
northeast doesn't play , and if your
Mco and scooter isn't carb compliant , they won't register you .
