They may protect against a tap or kickback as chaps do but they aren't recommended for running a chainsaw against yourself then again if you are that bad with a saw nothing will protect you..sell your Saw and call a professional

I don't think it's meant to protect against someone trying to cut through it, it's meant to protect against an inadvertent brush wiht th echain
As we've understood from the manufacturer's claims and videos, the glove's material is supposed to wrap along the chain and stall the saw no mater how long is the contact.

Exactly that. Just like the protecting layer in the trousers it's meant to be protecting you against self inflicted accidents not someone trying to cut off your limbs with a chainsaw (i.e hitting your protection and giong off the gas when hitting yourself) Also we don't know how the chain was sharpened yet. a 45° angle would render als Kevlar-Protection useless which is why these Chains are not sold in for example Germany.

Well, basically the thicker layer of Kevlar strings in the trousers will stop your chain almost 100% of the time. Also the Strings are much longer than the ones in any glove or shoe. Therefore they can wrap around the chain much more easy. Unfortunately in a shoe or glove there is only so much space to fill up with protective measures.
Also on that Aluminium part: It is a lot softer than the chrome hardened steel the teeth of the saw are made of. I once cut an aluminium Wedge in half using my MS460 (it was stuck in big chunk of wood, dont ask why...). So i doubt it would work as effective protection. Everything that would withstand the chain properly would either have to be very hard and therefore inflexible or very thick.

Наоборот будет осуществляться их обычная эксплуатация, но заодно человек ещё будет надеяться на то, что в случае чего они спасут руку от травмы (ведь даже пилу призваны остановить, судя по описанию...). Однако, насколько я понимаю, чтобы не было лишних иллюзий относительно защитных свойств этих перчаток - для этого и сделан этот обзор. Так что вполне отличный обзор перчаток, чтобы не было лишних иллюзий.

My question is how is there so much injuries with the hand? I can only think of people falling? Provided your not holding the throttle I say they'll slow it down enough to save your hand.

Gloves are all Class 0 (16m/sec), professional saws (eg.MS200) have a faster chain speed (20 m/s+).
Class 0 gloves are only meant to arrest a chain off throttle, on rundown, after accidental contact with the left hand, because it is usually nearest to the chain.
You'd have to try hard to cross-cut your own left hand at full throttle.
Yep, I'd only expect this glove to stop a separated chain off its sprocket not a sustained attack on a gloved hand...it's an impossible scenario in reality......

Why do you need cut proof gloves?
well its not gonna stop someone who is intent on chopping their hand off....but it will stop a quick hit at worst you be missing a bit of skin no parts

its for when you release and move the saw. chain stil spinning and it catch a branch. and kick back. the slowspeed will stop the chain.. while a normal glov wont stop it
Proper procedure is to always engage the chain brake when moving stances, and especially when not cutting. A HUGE percentage of chainsaw injuries and fatalities could be avoided by this simple 1 second addon the workflow. Imagine tripping on a log underfoot.. your instinct is to grab onto something! Now you're pressing down on the throttle running the saw while falling onto it.
I would much rather fall onto a stopped blade than a spinning one.

Seminar? You mean a collection of people seeking information and knowledge? Sounds like an opportunity to show them that wearing chaps while operating a chainsaw is a "shall" not a "should" in our industry. It's never too much trouble to put on chaps when operating a chainsaw, even if it's just to show others, that are less experienced, that even the professionals do it.

Try a more realistic scenario, it's not like you're trying to dispose of a body by cutting it up. Most likely a person hit by a saw has already released the trigger, or will very soon after making contact, in which case, the gloves should drastically reduce injury.
I saw a guy dog in to a 30" diameter log with a 36" bar, and cut at least 10" down a rock face behind it, some spots 3-4" deep.
Does that mean a 4" thick rock armor plate would not protect you from a chain saw?

Это обычный китаец либо подделка большого Штиля, судя по репортажу одной журналистки. Первое можете брать, второе лучше не надо (вальщики берут оригинал, эта хрень в лесу развалится)
Ну перчатки не для этого сделаные а для кратковременого удара и пила отлетит или запутавшись остановится, ведь ни кто не будет пилить себе руку!

Pointless video. The chainsaw isnt going to keep running. The safety bar gets tripped and the cut is milisecs in duration so yes these gloves do protect. But naturally they wont protect a dummy who is intent to cut his hand off.

Если с оператором то вряд ли. Как надо так извернуться что бы руку то себе отхерачить?
Крайне маловероятно, да может быть отскок бензопилы и может руку поранить или даже надрезать, но для этого и нужны такие перчатки, что бы остановить ДО КОНЦА цепь. Если ты отпускаешь монетку газа цепь сама останавливается. Такой случай может произойти только если заблокировать монетку газа, на что решится только полный дебил без инстинкта самосохранения. Что касается "ну ведь когда заводишь пилу цепь то крутится" ну так а я скажу что по ТБ во время того как заводите бензопилу должен быть включен инерционный тормоз. Тут тоже не зарежешься никак, потому что на нем делаешь перегазовку, убираешь тормоз цепи и пила переходит в режим холостого хода.
А если это должно защитить людей находящихся по близости то я ни разу не видел что бы кто то одевал подобные перчатки находясь где то рядом) их обычно одевает оператор бензопилы да и то, профессионалы, любители обходятся перчатками за 25р.
Вывод простой - перчатки с защитой лучше все таки одевать чем не одевать, но быть при этом осторожным и внимательным, вот и все. Такой тест ничего не показывает, он попросту не объективен. Распилить можно фактически что угодно.
