The holidays are not the same without artichokes we do it with breadcrumb garlic grated cheese and we chop the stems into the breadcrumb yes the heart is the best
I don’t know how I missed one of your videos😱…I just realized an artichoke would be fantastic in my IP…but also I’m like one of your viewers, I use the stem also, by peeling it and cooking it at the same time…tastes just like the choke but it’s for the cook alone 😏 additional dip: aioli 💋
As I sit here enjoying my Sunday morning wake and bake, to my delight I found this video. I'll be making these for the game tonight. I would love to hang with you, your personality lights up the screen. Thanks! #TB12 #GOBUCCS
Never throw away the stem. Cut the bottom off, peel the sides, and cook it with the whole artichokes in the pot. It's sooooo good! Try adding some pancetta and freshly chopped Italian parsley to your cheese mixture for an even more flavorful stuffing.
Lived in the Bay area of No Cal right next door to Watsonville--the artichoke capital of the world!! Eat artichoke hearts all the time, but whole artichokes are a hassle. Maybe not anymore since I have an IP. Thanks!
just an FYI. A friend of mine told me you could remove the center prickly leaves and the "hairy" part before you cook them. She uses a grapefruit spoon because it has the serrated edges which makes it even easier to remove that stuff. Just thought you might want to try it that way. Hey...taking that stuff out will also let you put in more stuffing!!! In my opinion.......it's a win-win!!!
🍹🌺Aloha from Hawaii🍍🥥 Just bought 2 large artichokes yesterday & was searching for an instant pot recipe to try. I've always made stuffed artichokes by boiling then stuffing yada yada... I just got an instant pot duo crisp & wanted to experiment... I'm definitely using your method... BTW I hope you didn't throw away the stems you trimmed. Peel then & cook them as well. They are just like the bottoms, the best part IMHO
This is the first thing I made in my instant pot and oh boy... really really strong in the black pepper. I would add a fourth of the recommended amount and no salt if you use the kraft parmesan.
You are amazing!!! I was wondering if these could be done in the instant pot. Trying these soon. I do mine slightly different. Don't discard the stems. Chop some of it and add to the stuffing mix - adds flavor. I also add olive oil right into the stuffing mix and put tomato sauce on top of the artichokes. Do yummy!! Thanks!!!
Looks amazing! I tried to get the written recipe through the link above but it said ERROR Page Not Found. I love the printed recipes so I hope the link can be fixed. I can watch the video again and type the recipe from the video but I would prefer to just print it out. Hope you can help with that!
im curious as to why you did not remove the purple leaves/fibrous like brush before stuffing? is it just preference. i just think that serving it up and not having to have guests have to go through the mess to get to the heart... although, its worth it! Thanks!!
OMG! The last time I had these was when my Italian Grandmom made them for me. That was a very long time ago now. I was drooling (LOL) while viewing your video. I can't wait to taste them again. You are my most favorite chef and I tell everyone I can all about you and the recipes. Thank you so very much you have made cooking for me fun again.
I tried this one and am in love with it! I did not make enough 'stuffing' but will next time and I might try 15 minutes instead of 20 because I like me stems with a little more bite to them - Fantastic recipe!
We want it in the water. let's sprinkle it all over. Not sure i understand the extra wording. Do love the enthusiasm. Maybe haveva short video of the steps. The video became too long for me but the recipe is still worth it.
We tried your recipe tonight and my family loved it. We've always done them just steamed, but I'm sure this is our new goto way of cooking them. Only a short time to do the suffering, and wow an amazing dish.
Thank you Jeff. Had family over for dinner, served stuffed artichokes for an appetizer. They were a hit. My sister-in-law is definitely stealing this one. I would use a little less pepper next time. And I chickened out on the dipping sauce. I stuck to my usual, Mayo and Mayo/sriracha. Thank you kindly. This was super fun.
Just followed your recipe only I used romano/parm cheese on 2 artichokes. For me it was a bit much. It was good. Cooked for 20 minutes. But I don't know if I was crazy about the flavor. Do you think it was because I used the romano/parm cheese? There was very little artichoke flavor.
Jeff Happy New Year to you and Richard! I put my olive oil on by pouring it on top and then rubbing it around the artichoke. When you sprinkle the stuffing over the stuffed artichoke it gets some of it to stick on the sides. I am teaching my 11 year old daughter to make this today and I decided to see you had it online - yay! So much better I was dreading the long wait, I can live with 10 minutes - thanks to you and Joyce!
You did this perfectly! My mom made artichokes, and they were my favorite vegetable when growing up- we did not have them very often, but I asked for them on my birthdays- so delicious, especially with melted butter and cheese... mmmm!
I would squeeze a lemon or two into the sauce. Trust me on that. I usually do artichokes plain with lemon butter- the lemon + artichokes is a hell of a flavor profile.
Tip that I found on another video... Don't throw away the stem. Cut off the woody part (the hard skin) and put it in the instant pot with the artichoke. If you get off all the woody part it becomes similar to the heart and very very tasty. On the other hand if you don't get off all the woody skin, it's near impossible to chew.
I made these last night for my family--they were so good! I was only able to fit 3 in my pot so I was wondering what size pot you have? I'm guessing my artichokes were just big because they also needed more than 10 minutes. Thank you so much for your videos; you have some amazing looking recipes. I'll be trying more in the future.
You are all correct. Twenty minutes is the right amount of time. I was pretty sure he didn't cook his long enough, and then I saw him sawing away at the choke of the artichoke with that spoon and it made it crystal clear to me that his artichokes were undercooked.
I've tried artichokes once in the pressure cooker and they were very, very good. I was wondering, though, if this filling isn't a bit salty with all that parmesan cheese? My Mom used to mix bread crumbs and the cheese to stuff them with. Either way, you're absolutely right that if our Mom's had used a pressure cooker, they'd have had so much more time to do other things for themselves. Thanks for sharing another recipe! :)
CarS You're right! My mom n grandma added the breadcrumbs too, along with the garlic powder, salt, pepper, parsley flakes n parmesan. They took 3hrs covered in the oven. I just made them last Thursday then got an instant pot Sunday for mother's day, lol... My grandmother was Sicilian btw......🍴
I just got an Ultra 6qt. I want to make these tomorrow but 2 instead of four. What time adjustment would you recommend? Also I do enjoy your videos but giving more details such as what model you are using, size model you are using would be helpful. I'm such a newbie but have written recipes for blogs before and know that when you write down a recipe for someone you include every minute detail. But super excited to try this recipe! Thank you!
I tried this tonight and I had to cook 2 artichoke for 25 minutes. Also, the stuffing was way too salty for my liking. I do like that I can cook artichoke in the IP though, this recipe is just not for me.
I love your videos. I have bought an Instant Pot for Christmas 2018. (I haven't opened it yet). Can't wait to try some of your recipes. I watch videos from a lady that has since passed (Great Depression Cooking). She cooks "depression" style recipes. Everything is homemade of course. She does have a recipe for stuffed artichokes, and when I saw your video, it reminded me of her video. Here is a link to her video - czcams.com/video/LZ5g9hfB72I/video.html. I will be trying your video soon. THANK YOU for all your great cooking ideas.
Yum💕thanks Jeff!
Love artichokes & cannot wait to make them in my Instapot. You are m inspiration
I cook them the exact same way except i also mix in 4 seasons italian bread crumbs too
The holidays are not the same without artichokes we do it with breadcrumb garlic grated cheese and we chop the stems into the breadcrumb yes the heart is the best
I can’t wait to try this
Make them all the time, but never used a pressure cooker. Great idea.
This is a really great video. I'm going to try this tonight. Thanks so much!

I can’t even think about a stuffed artichoke without breadcrumb. I can’t try this.
Thank you for this recipe! It was my first ever stuffed artichokes recipe and it didn't disappoint. I will for sure make it again... Super easy!
just an FYI. A friend of mine told me you could remove the center prickly leaves and the "hairy" part before you cook them. They actually call that part the choke because if you eat it......
Yep you are correct!!!
That's labor intensive. I don't think it can be done with that size chokes.
🍹🌺Aloha from Hawaii🍍🥥

Love love love stuffed artichokes! It's the very first thing I ever made in my IP. I make a breadcrumb/ Parmesan stuffing. Delish!
Aren't they wonderful, Amy?!
Pressure Luck oh, the best!
Thanks, Amy!!!

Indeed! I've been cooking artichokes in my pressure cooker for decades. :D

How do I make stuffed artichokes in pressure cooker
This looks wonderful. I want to make it soon. I also saw a recipe where the chef said to trim and cook the stem too as it is very tasty.
Love your recipe.
I've been cooking artichokes in my pressure cooker for decades. I'll have to try it with your stuffing. Thanks!
That isn’t cooked enough. The leaves should fall off.
I tried this one and am in love with it! I did not make enough 'stuffing' but will next time and I might try 15 minutes instead of 20 because I like me stems with a little more bite to them - Fantastic recipe!

Bravo! Another winner!!!
You did this perfectly! My mom made artichokes, and they were my favorite vegetable when growing up- we did not have them very often, but I asked for them on my birthdays- so delicious, especially with melted butter and cheese... mmmm!
My kiddos all thought those were great. My 6 year old says that was the best thing she has ever eating. Thanks for the yummy recipe as always!
Delicious!! Couldn’t believe it only took ten minutes.
I would squeeze a lemon or two into the sauce. Trust me on that. I usually do artichokes plain with lemon butter- the lemon + artichokes is a hell of a flavor profile.
I remember my mom making those on the stove! We used to take the leaves off and dip in in melted butter!

If u peel the stem it is great to eat
Yumm.. Love stuffed Artichokes but were a pain to make. Can't wait to try this way in my IP👍🙋🍻 Thanks for sharing👏
Love the name bro! Great video!
Looks fantastic. I feel like I'm Stalking you. LOL Love watching your videos and usually comment. Thanks again for the share
Omg I have those Disney plates!
Also, the artichokes look amazing. Haha
why do some people take out the choke and some dont?
I made these last night for my family--they were so good! I was only able to fit 3 in my pot so I was wondering what size pot you have? I'm guessing my artichokes were just big because they also needed more than 10 minutes. Thank you so much for your videos; you have some amazing looking recipes. I'll be trying more in the future.
Thank YOU, Angie!!!
20 minutes is perfect!
I found that 20 mins worked well too

I am so impressed with your process for cooking artichokes I am buying a cooker...question how many quarts is your electric pressure cooker?
I cook 3 large artichokes in my 6-quart pressure cooker, maybe you'd want a larger IP...? Just guessing...
is there a way I can print just the recipe and instructions?
I've tried artichokes once in the pressure cooker and they were very, very good. I was wondering, though, if this filling isn't a bit salty with all that parmesan cheese? Carla S. It actually is the perfect balance of salt, cheese, pepper and garlic! So glad you enjoyed the video!

A born Mohel. OY! MAZEL TOV!
Do you adjust time for just 2 artichokes? I am brand new to Instant pot so help please?
Did you ever get an answer on this? Wondering about cooking two myself!
Seriously, have you done a Lamb recipe yet? I want to make these artichokes with lamb!
6 or 8 Quart?
It looks like the front of a 6 quart IP.
I tried this tonight and I had to cook 2 artichoke for 25 minutes. Also, the stuffing was way too salty for my liking. I do like that I can cook artichoke in the IP though, this recipe is just not for me.
cori51480 / Joyce forgot to tell him to add bread crumbs to the cheese mixture. Of course it’s going to be salty.
nom nom nom

Thank you. now I will know how to cook them by there self. I wad raise just eating them with mayo. stuffing has too much cheese and sodium
I agree with the comments about using bread crumbs, I do a 50/50 bread crumb to parm, Also try red wine instead of water. Sooo good!
