    You have a well behaved baby ma'am, no fussing and crying. Why am I even watching this?? I have no kids nor plan to!

    I’m hoping this woman is a certified technician to be advising people, especially virally!
    I mean, she could’ve at least demonstrated no slack being pinched at the harness like she said 😅

      She’s actually very spot on. Straight from a car seat manual

    It looked like she could pinch the webbing though. Just a bit but still. Is that safe? Asking as a FTM

      This took me a second to comprehend, I was like what does being trans have to do with buckling a baby in? Then I realised this probably means first time mom😂

      @slashbat2375 Lol! The first time I saw FTM I also thought "female to male" 😂🤣 you're not alone!

      The amount that she is pinching under her fingers is not safe, you shouldn’t be able to pinch any slack at all. But not too tight, just enough to not get any between your fingers. Any slack in the harness means the child’s body is going to move more with the force of a crush and that can result in injury or ejection. Same rules apply for bulky clothes, if you’re questioning if it’s too bulky put the clothes item on and buckle up the harness is snug, without adjusting the harness take the baby out and remove the clothing item in question. Buckle the baby back up, if there is slack in the harness the clothes item is too bulky. Layer on top of harness for warmth or a couple layers of non-bulky clothing items is fine, example A onesie and a sleeper with a blanket on top.
      Congratulations on your little one!

    If you pull too tight, how do you adjust it back?

    I think it's too big a newborn

    Is it just the shoulders you want to be able to not pinch? Or all of the straps like below the chest clip?! Thank you

    • @ElkWatersRun
      @ElkWatersRun Před 5 měsíci

      All the straps. You don’t want it so tight it hurts them but you don’t want ANY slack in the straps and make sure the chest clip is always at their shoulders hope this helps

    • @ElkWatersRun
      @ElkWatersRun Před 5 měsíci

      Or armpit level not shoulders

    I wonder if babies feel claustrophobic when they’re in carseasts. We may think it doesn’t but we’re not them

      Considering most babies are compressed inside of a uterus for 9 mos, I would say no. And this is what we need to do in order to keep them safe in a vehicle. I'm 40 and dislike a seat belt but I wear it bc I don't want to die.

      My newborn does. If he tries to wiggle to stretch or readjust and he can't because he's strapped down, he starts crying. So he definitely has a time limit in the car

    But poor baby, what if he’s willy started hurting?

  • @visioncorp5228
    @visioncorp5228 Před rokem +5

    Wtf, it says on the middle clip that it’s supposed to be at armpit level, this is how children fly out of cars.

    • @nessu0
      @nessu0 Před rokem +9

      Did you see the end where the clip was at armpit level

    • @noralee5837
      @noralee5837 Před 5 měsíci

      Actually it’s most of the snug harnesses that reduce ejection, The chess clip aids the harnesses :) chest clips are designed as pre-crash positioners- meaning they are designed to keep the harnesses over the shoulders for the initial impact only. Sometimes they even break apart during that initial impact.
      So not only will I just click that is too high or too low not keep the harnesses where they need to be there can also be a lot of force put on that area of the child’s body in a crash or sudden stop. Chest clips should be at armpit level a.k.a. on the sternum 😊

    What brand is that seat?

      The brand is Nuna - you can see it on the left part of the chest clip.
