      HI Marc, Asus is the only manufacturer (for now) that allows their MiniLED panels to be used as a single zone backlight, which helps a lot when doing colour-critical stuff. It is a setting in their armoury crate software. But remember this is only relevant when it comes to MiniLED panels.

    Can you please confirm that the noise samples are calibrated correctly to the volume of your voice? I ask because some review measured 62dB as the maximum noise while your sound sample lets the full fan speed sound roughly like 45dB...! Too good to be true, or is it? Below, I suppose the noise samples are calibrated correctly.
    The 4080 @ (80+25)W compute / work speeds are ok and the noise is very good. Therefore, I would buy the MSI Stealth 17 if it were a creator notebook with at most 16:10, ordinarily sized arrow (and numpad) keys and without seal sticker on any of the chassis screws.
    The weak hinge is a concern. I do not know yet if cleaning the fans is easy or hard.
    I do not understand why this notebook is so rather silent. It does not have any of vapor chamber, liquid metal or 4 fans. Instead, it is 20mm thin. Something can't be right. In the review, you do not sound overly excited about the noise level, either.
    Maybe, 13900H can run low in GPU heavy tasks and 4080 @ 105W is sufficiently efficient indeed. If so, a vapor chamber would make things even better. ---robert jasiek

    • @NotebookcheckReviews
      @NotebookcheckReviews  Před rokem +1

      I have no way of measuring the noise sample proberly yet. So it is more of a subjective representation of the laptop's relative noise, compared to keyboard presses.
      That said (again, subjectively) the 62db you mentioned does sound way too loud.
      I felt like the Stealth was instead "quiet" for the performance it provides.
      I was driving it daily for about 2 weeks and mostly left it in performance mode while working (video-editing/retouching) since the fan noise wasn't bothering me.
      That said, I feel like I have a higher-than-usual toleriance for notebook noice if I get the performance I require. ;)

      @@NotebookcheckReviews Just curios: why does it take so long for NBC providing you with noise measurement tools? On Idealo, there are some for ca. €25, but probably I am too naive and gauging might be a problem and require more expensive tools. --robert jasiek

      Framework 16 is not due in Q4, and there will be a short supply, so it will probably Q1 2024 for most. By then, the next-gen Intel with a new iGPU will be out, so it will be behind the curve.
