    Nice job! New subscriber too. I’ve seen many other videos and by far yours is much better showing a step by step explanation. You should do another software video and possibly an in flight video showing some of the integration with apps like ForeFlight. Take care. Nick

    Looks like you didn’t link the raspberry pie motherboard link. Other than that it’s a great video! Btw do I need to buy heat sink separately or it comes with the motherboard?

    Great video! i have just started looking at building my own Stratux, and your video was the clearest! do you have a video of it in operation with Foreflight?

      Did you ever get an answer to this? My hunch is that you don't need the GPS dongle if using Foreflight on an iPad. Is that your experience?

      @@mehtkab yes it was, after building it and getting is connected with my ipad it works great! all for a fraction of the cost.

    7:54 Color code the antennas with some tape and put color codes on the case. Please do not play music while you are talking. Great build and thanks for sharing.

    My build stopped working after a few years recently. No longer receives ADSB towers. GPS still works though. Either or both of the antennas went dead is my guess. I have no idea how to go about troubleshooting. Oh well. A lot of nice parts someone could probably use. Thinking I'll move on to a Stratus or Ping and toss this one in the dead bin.

    When installing the Stratux and entering software, can you program your tail number or N number to be displayed ?

      No, the system is adsb in only. It does not broadcast your location.

      You'll need your favorite navigation platform.. Garmin, Uvonix, iFlyGPS and several others. Once done you connect via wi-fi and you'll see traffic around you as well a receive weather, Metars, Pireps, weather radar overlay and more.

      What about a micro usb to usb power cord and continuously power off of the Aircraft power? Do you have to use the battery? @@thatpilotjo2622

      You don’t have to use a battery. You can plug it into the plane or a battery.

      I would recommend downloading the software from the Stratux website and using that. If you are using Foreflight and want the ahrs to work(but glitchy) there is a dangerzone build you can download from github.

    So how do you connect it to the iPAD and see everything?? I'm new to this so don't know how to do it. Your list didn't include the board.

      It connects via WiFi. & I used a raspberry pi 3, you can get one anywhere.

    Does the version downloaded from stratux has the fix for ahrs when using foreflight? Also what's the latest version of stratux? How does the internal gps work? I've read various comments about it not working and folks having to make the switch to the external gps.

      Yes, as long as you’re in range of an ADSB tower. You can also get that info from the internet.

      I just received the box Kit like the one you (brown color). To my great surprise it does not come with the green Board (is it Raspberry Pi?). Can you tell me the board I need to purchase in addition to make this work?

    How do I get the data out of this unit into my Phone or tablet so I can read the data ?

      The unit should broadcast a WiFi signal. Connect your phone to it and put in the unit’s ip address to get to the system settings.

    Might want to put that battery on the bottom if you want the GPS to work.

      With the way the case is made I have to put it there if I want to use the mounting options on the back, and keep the battery on the unit. But the GPS works perfectly fine still.

      I'll never quite figure out why Summitlink made it so that it mounts with the GPS facing in rather than out. Then again they obviously did not test the V2 with the GPYes since it cannot be plugged in at the same time as the second fan.

      I know that's so annoying. It can get pretty hot where I am in the summer, and I don't want it to overheat.

      Any particular reason you bought that case in the first place? A lot of effort was put into the official case to ensure that it had adequate cooling.

      I wanted the tinted color and the option to mount the antennas on the side if I wanted. Do you have a Stratux?

    Another next to useless ADSB video that fails to even mention the file that is being installed by Etcher.

      In his video, he shows just downloading the .ZIP file. That file must be extracted so that there is an .IMG file - Then run the .IMG file through etcher.
