Several of you have pointed out the fact that the footage from the Osmo Action 3 looks soft and/or out of focus. I agree with your conclusion. The footage I provided is straight out of the Action 3 and does not have any alterations made to the sharpness or focus when putting it together in this video. This enables you to accurately see how this footage looks.
I purchased the Action 3 with my own money as I do with all cameras and the goal of this video is help beginners have a great, first experience with the Action 3 while also providing footage samples that help those shopping for an action camera--or current owners of the Action 3--accurately see what they can expect from this camera. I appreciate seeing all of your thoughts and opinions on this camera as well.
Thanks!
Great tutorial but how come it only offered 720/1080p export when the clip was a 4k60fps clip that you edited???
You have to select “Original Resolution” at the top when exporting to export in 4K but it is important to note that some effects including stabilization will only allow a maximum export resolution of 1080p.
Best tutorial I’ve ever seen for ANY device ever…!😊
Thank you
What a hardword! This video transformed the manual instructions of Osmo Action 3 into a moving picture. It helps me so much as im a beginner of DJI product. Thank you and please keep producing vlog
I appreciate your feedback and support!
I mean hardwork! *revise
Thanks!
@@GreatDayForAHike I was recording Night Lapse but for some odd reason my camera kept shutting off
Was the camera powering off or just the screen going dark after a few minutes?
Simple-minded people might say your video is too long. I say they are just stupid. The level of depth and detail you went into is exactly what I needed and was looking for. Thanks.
Can you do a video comparison with the action 3 VS DJI Pocket 2? Please. I'm undecided if I want to buy the DJI Pocket 2 and add it to my arsenal. If it's an enormous improvement, I would. But if the gains are slight, I would not step up.
the action 3 and DJI Pocket 2 are 2 different thing. If you like adventure, buy action, if you like cinematic, wondering around at town, buy Pocket 2.
That was excellent - I've just rediscovered my Action 3 and needed to have a quick refresher and boy, did you deliver! Excellent delivery, voice over and visuals. Congratulations. All the best from New Zealand.
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback and support.
An excellent video presentation.
Was a little despondent with the focus seemingly slightly out on my OA3 but with some effort discovered just how important good lighting is to these cameras.
4:3 stretched produced some fairly detailed imagery in proper light.
Had not even looked at slo mo,timelapse and hyperlapse yet , had a quick go after watching this and I'm smiling again.
Thanks for some very helpful content.
I agree with most of the commenters. This is a thorough and explanatory video. I appreciate all the effort that a pro like you is like a "walk in the park" , but for us newbies your work is the gate that opens to those great videos that can be made with that camera. Once again, thank you for the magnificent piece of art you have provided.
Thank you for your feedback. I really appreciate it and hope you enjoy your camera.
So, it is april 1st 2024 now, and I just ordered my DJI Osmo Action 3 yesterday. I think at this moment that suits my needs completely, will vastly go with 4K/30fps. Your video was absolutely brilliant to floow, only your last sentence on using the wall charger was cut off on your edit. Your link directs to a 60 Watt charger, is that the proper one? Loads of thanks for ,aling it able for me to 'suck in' all that information beforehad. And as far as I know there is indeed 10bit video now and a sharpness (low, medium, sharp) option. Keep up the good work!
Vety good and comprehensive. You are a great instructor-clear and easy to understand. Thank you very much.
Thank you very much!
Very well explained ,I'm a complete novice and I've stored this video for reference so when the camera comes on Friday I can set it up from here thank you so very much ...
Kind regards Chris from the uk
Thank you. I appreciate your feedback and I hope you enjoy your Action 3!
I have to say.. for someone like me who's totally new to all of these.. this is VERY helpful! SUBSCRIBED. TYSM!
Thank you for clear, simple and detailed explanations about all functions and settings, recommendations /advice. That's what I needed as a complete beginner who wants to buy that camera.
You are welcome!
Glad we have other options for action cameras like the Osmo Action 3. Loving the features on this one. Definitely the best one yet from DJI.
Glad to hear you’re enjoying it.
Hi! I bought mine a few days ago December 2022 batch, so I don't have any issues with the focus. I have no clue on how to go about the functions and all for I didn't know it was gonna be complicated (my first action cam).Love your step by step video. I'm more confident now. I need to learn fast before my trip. LOL! Thank you for sharing.
WOW this is by far the best DJI Osmo Action 3 Guide on CZcams! so much info and you are easy to understand. you show everything and don't expect people to just know. good job and thank you!
I appreciate your feedback and support! I’m glad you found this useful.
I just purchased osmo action 3 and this video is the only thing I would ever need to learn everything . Thanks for putting up such detailed video covering every mode and best settings for each of them
I have a small chuckle to myself when I go to view this video and get an advertisement for GoPro Hero 11 before watching 😂
Funny 😂
One of the most comprehensive videos about this DJI camera. Thank you very much for your time, greatly appreciated.
Thank you. I really appreciate your feedback!
One of the best, if not the best "how to" and "what to" of this camera on YT, massive thanks, I just purchased one, and will look to use the settings advised !
I appreciate your feedback and am glad you found this useful. Enjoy your Action 3!
This will be my next purchase over the Go Pro. Thanks for the detailed video....!!
You’re welcome and hope you enjoy it!
This is a brilliant guide! Thank you!
Top content for the beginners! I am very thankfull for the effort, especially for the custom settings in the action cam!
I appreciate your feedback!
I just Subscribed!! I am going to open my box tomorrow. I got the Adventure pack. I did get a headband mount. This is my first Action Camera. I used a Tachyon for field work with my dog, but the resolution is not great. Cannot see detail. I saw below someone's settings for a "walk and talk," that sounds like what I do, but in a field, and my talking is telling the dog what to do (ha). I cannot wait to set up my camera while re-watching this video. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
Purchased the Action 3 today, just watched your video now I am ready to use it. I loved every minute of it. Thanks!
Thank you for your feedback and I hope you enjoy your Action 3!
Great work man, thanks for taking your time to do this.
Thank you.
Really helpful video. I've subscribed and will be using all your default settings :) One of the most helpful tutorials I've come across for film making. Thanks for sharing your knowledge :)
just ordered mine with some accessories so awesome video to watch and get to know more about the camera in more detail.
Thank you. I hope you enjoy your camera!
Picking up my osmo action 3 tomorrow from bestbuy, and I gotta say this is hands down the best unboxing/setup tutorial I've ever seen!! Sir, you've provided every bit of info needed to get the best experience from the action 3! Absolutely fantastic job! Hats off to you!
Thank you for your feedback and I hope you enjoy your Action 3!
Great video! Not sure if I missed it, how do you switch recording from front mode to "selfie mode?" Does that setting even exist or is it just turning the stick manually? Thanks in advance.
Thank you for the outstanding video! I just bought the Osmo Action 3 and found your video. I was searching through other good video tutorials but I believe you've covered everything to get me going strong. I didn't know the phone app is such a powerful tool, I did not see that feature used on any previous reviews before buying this action camera.
I really appreciate your feedback and hope you enjoy your new camera!
Excellent guide. Very helpful for a beginner like me. One question, what video settings would you recommend for waterfall/river to get that nice silky effect? I assume timelapse would be used but how about the other settings?
This is the BEST INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO on CZcams for this Product !!
GREATLY APPRECIATE your detailed work , in helping us newbies to Action Cameras and Easy Functions.
I am waiting for this camera in the mail ...(2morrow it is here.) ....and I've gone through a dozen of videos...but yours is the best of them all.
I appreciate your feedback and hope you have a great time with your camera!
Awesome video. You're a wonderful communicator. Looking forward to be part of your continued success.
Excellent video! Have you ever tried panning when using the DeWarp FOV? If so, is there any fisheye effect as you pan across?
Thanks for this video. Just bought the Action 3. I'm normally a just press and take a photo or video on my mobile wihout adjusting anything so gave me some great ideas, thanks
You're very welcome!
Thank you so much! I am an absolute beginner and managed to teach me a lot!!😊
You’re welcome and I’m glad you found this helpful!
I have purchased both the action 3 with the extra batteries and also the dji nic set, haven't got round to opening it yet, so this video is really a great resource
Great to hear. Have fun!
I like you balance of riding and filming the natural wonder of the land.
I did the same ride on my KTM 950 Adventure and had to slow right down for last 20 kms or so as part way through the ride I had lightening striking the ground around me and pushed a bit hard trying to escape it.
Wow that sounds like quite an adventure!
I have to say that this video is excellent and shows the beginner on how to set it up from start with all sorts of well explained information. I would say the best video I have seen on the Action 3. Thank you very much
Thank you for your feedback and support. It is greatly appreciated!
Thank you for sharing! It's a big help and I learned a lot from it.
You're welcome! I'm glad you found this helpful.
This video is super helpful and will save me so much time. Thank you so much!
You're welcome and I really appreciate your feedback! Hope you have fun with the Action 3.
Love the detailed explanation !
Appreciate your feedback!
Excellent overview. Thanks for taking the time to be so thorough.
You’re welcome and I appreciate your feedback.
Very Helpful. Thank you for taking the trouble to make this Beginners' Guide. God bless you & family.
I appreciate your feedback and kind words!
Great presentation, the best I have seen. Congratulations for your work!
I appreciate it!
Wow! Awesome job! Thanks for the simple explanation. They should include your video with the product.
Thank you. I really appreciate it!
This is good, you've been convinced me on this model and with the overheating problems with go pro and shutting down freezing problems. keep this up, now interested on what other help with what you can do with this video camera, so you subscribed
Thank you for this instructive video - my Android phone wasn't interested in recognising the Osmo action 3 - it had settings preventing everything be found, sound, camera etc 6 different things. I reset them once I went into the areas from the DJI App once this occurred it all went as you demonstrated, over all it was a pain in the aarrssee - Had I have know the drama it would be I would have avoided purchasing it & all the bits you need that don't come with it, A very stressful experience - I only wanted it because I'm going on a drive holiday over a month. Anyhow thank you, I'll come back to your video for tutoring on parts I'm yet to encounter & realise I might need the various abilities
Thank you for this outstanding tutorial.
thank you for that great beginners guide, it is very helpfull!
You’re very welcome!
what do you think about Rocksteady+? new to OA3, so this was a great video to get baseline settings. I got the PGYTech aluminum case to replace the standard DJI one, because it allows you to access the battery/microsd compartment, has a cold shoulder for flash, still allows horizontal and vertical mag mount, but also 14mm verticle mount. I got the Osmo Action 3 Adventure pack, because it comes with the multifunctional battery case and 3 batteries, so there's no need to have a spare powerbank, since you can use the case as both a battery charger and power supply with the 1-3 spare batteries.
I dreaded opening the box when I received my Action 3. After one month, I had the time to unbox and try to set it up. After 2 hours, I was getting nowhere. Could not even link up the app to the camera. I am not a computer geek. Luckily I found your video and followed every step and menu and advice that you provided. That one hour video of yours got me through the process and I am all set to start using the camera. This video is the best on youtube. Thank you so much. Excellent job. Look for my special "thanks" now.
I really appreciate your feedback and support!
I love that you have so many options to charge...😍👍💓💗💖
a) rechargeable battery
c) Battery power case
d) computer power
e) Power bank
f) ???? Solar Panel Power ????
This is incredible.....I learned so much from you..
Exposure, White Balance, coloring, horizontal settings, ......I love this...
I've watched dozens of videos...and these other youtubers, will show off their videos...but not really take the time , to explain the settings and why they choose them....they just say .....Pick this, and your good to go..lol
Thanks for your feedback and yes, it’s great to have so many options to charge.
Excellent job, thanks!
Thanks!
Great video! Very helpful! Thank you
You’re welcome!
Many thanks for all your hard work putting together this comprehensive video. Its the best one I have seen and certainly the most useful. Hving recently purchased the OA3 and comapred the footage to my GP Hero 8 and DJI Osmo pocket the image quality is soft. The GPH8 is sharper and the auto focussing Osmo Pocket outperforms both of them easilly in terms of stills and video. Hopefully, DJI can improve quality via firmware and it is not a hardware , manufacturing issue.
I appreciate your feedback on this and agree based on tests and comparisons I have done with this camera.
Thanks a very helpfull, comprehensive & easy to follow video. I want to buy one of these, my 1st action camera & your video has made up my mind. I have a question, if I may, about the timelapse.. it appears that it has to be manually turned on to start the timelapse. It can't be set to come on at a selected time?
i love action 3, and im using for all my footage now.. and im using on my youtube channel of course..
This is great to hear.
thank you for this detailed guide for action cam.
You’re welcome and I appreciate your feedback.
I really appreciate the way you explain everything about setting up the Osmo Action 3 camera, I have one arriving soon, a question for you is it ok to delete the videos you make after uploading to CZcams and format later, I have the Osmo Action Camera I normally delete the videos I take after uploading to the computer, then every three weeks I format, is tha ok
Thanks for the guide
You’re welcome
Thanks, great video. If I can suggest an addition? The most important aspect for me and one which I cannot find in the user manual or any review videos are, how long does it take to boot and start recording. I want to use the camera for salmon fishing and normally would like to hit the button and immediately start recording, preferably with a 30s buffer which I believe this camera doesn't have. This camera appears to tick all the boxes apart from the buffer although I was disappointed to read below if I export the original file I would lose all the rocksteady stabilisation? Thank you.
Thanks for posting such a great beginners video.
You’re welcome and I appreciate your feedback.
I have this camera and absolutely love it.
Great to hear.
Thanks for sharing! I’m choosing Osmo Action 3 over GoPro this time. Each has its pros and cons but I’m just much more thrilled for DJI.
Thanks for your feedback and thoughts.
Super great video! Well done and easy to follow, it helped me so much, thank you!
I appreciate your feedback and support!
Best Videoinstruction ever seen, thank you ! 👏👍 greetings from Austria
I appreciate your feedback and support!
Hello. I have returned several times to your presentation for reference to refresh my memory on a setting I may not use regularly. After having the Action 3 for over a year, I have customized it to my needs, for instance, the Zhiyun Crane Gimbal-M2S Combo really works well with the camera. I've added the TASCAM TM-2X Stereo XY Microphone which has great sound and a low profile so it doesn't affect the balance of the gimbal and also, even with a dead cat, it doesn't protrude into the lens image. One question I have concerns the volume settings. I couldn't see where you mentioned the 'gain' control, what it is supposed to do, and your recommendation for what setting %. Thanks!
Just got our first osmo action 3 and we got the adventure combo which includes a lot of extra gear . We are so pleased with it so far, we bought it after buying the Dji mics for our very disappointing go pro 10 .
Great video and very helpful to a very new owner 🤙🏽🤙🏽🧱👍🏼
This video has convinced me this camera is going to be my next choice over a Go Pro Hero model, thanks for the detailed explanation. I'll be coming back to this one after the purchase. .
You’re welcome. Enjoy your Action 3!
Thanks!
21:24 I recommend to set screen off when recording to 3s. It's an action camera so most likely you are recording mountainbiking, snowboarding or a similar activity. That mean the camera is mounted somewhere where you can't that easily change the position and you are likely way too busy not crashing to look at a tiny screen to figure out if the shot is framed the right way. If you have time to look at the tiny screen you also have a finger free to tap the screen to make it comes on.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Seems logical to me.
Thanks for sharing your expertise. Always nice to have something for reference. Glad I chose Osmo Action 3 over gopro.
You’re welcome!
Features and details on the Osmo Action 3 seems to be very well-though-out for a much better user experience.
Yes, I like the improvements over the Action 2.
Thanks from Holland. Great tutorial
I appreciate it!
THANKYOU IM A DJIOA3 BEGINNER..THIS VIDEO WAS SO HELPFUL ❤️🙏
You’re welcome and I appreciate you letting me know you found this helpful!
Fantastic, comprehensive review of the action 3. I'm sure that it will help me get the most out of my new camera.
Thank you for your feedback and enjoy your new camera!
This was a great detailed video. Thank you for doing this.
Thank you and you’re welcome.
Very informative guide. I am waiting for my DJI OSMO Action 3 to be delivered in a day or two. The information in this video is going to be quite useful for a beginner like me. Can you recommend a light weight stick (selfie) for this action camera? I also wonder if there is any good Car Dash mount available?
Extremely helpful information man. You definitely earned my sub!
Thank you for your feedback and support!
Brilliant, Thank you mate. NB Question. A setting I cant find. On my action 1 I am able to set the camera to take a photo every 2 seconds. It works brilliantly on a selfie stick and gives you heep of photos to choose from. But no where in the Action 3 can I find this?? - Am I missing something ? Kindly help please
Great video, I just received mine today and this was so helpful.
I would have owned it for a year and never used it to its potential.
I appreciate your feedback and am glad you found this helpful.
Many thanks, great video, great job!!!
I appreciate it
Thank you much for such in depths vide. I have an issue with the setting for the Nightlapse Mode. in your setting for the very dark sky where is no moon you recommend an interval of 30 sec, however when I am going to change the shutter speed to 30 sec it changes the interval to 40sec. It shows error for me to use 30 sec shutter speed I can not use anything under 40 sec interval. Do you know why is that? I noticed couple different things on your options in setting compare to mine, which I assume is due to different firmware since the day of the recording of this video and now.
I appreciate the work that went into this review. Enjoyed watching it.
Thank you.
Thanks so much for a detailed and informative video. I’ve made sure that I’ve saved this to my favourites. I’ve purchased an Action 3 and I’ll use this video as my guide when I’m setting it up. 👍🏾😎
I really appreciate your feedback and hope you enjoy your Action 3!
Hello. I was wondering if you can advise on the best settings for the Action 3 for uploading videos to CZcams.
I recommend checking out this table here from CZcams: support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171?hl=en#zippy=%2Cbitrate
The settings that are best are dependent upon your resolution and frames per second and this table breaks this down nicely.
@@GreatDayForAHike That’s great. Thanks so much for your help.
wow. very good quality for 14k subs. You should have 1mln subs!
excellent instructional video. thanks
I appreciate your feedback and you’re welcome.
in the time of 15 sec reels/tiktok tutorial i must say thank you to you.. great job
I appreciate your feedback!
Brilliant vedio.. i watch so many tech vedios but ur explanations were really clear and detailed.. Good work! U got a Sub too!
Thank you and I really appreciate your support!
This was the best video of the many i have viewed, for the Action 3. I was a little confused on the word Pendent Video, I think you said? Again, great video!👍
Glad it was helpful! If I said "Pendent Video" that was a mistake. I may have spoken a little too fast in that section.
Can you now adjust sharpness manually on the Osmo 3? Also, did they ever added 10 bit colors via update?
Thanks a lot sir.big help.god bless
I appreciate your feedback and am glad you found this helpful.
Thanks for this very informative video. It was worth watching. Much appreciated!
Thank you for your feedback and support!
Man, I wanna shake your hand and thank you for this video. You explained everything! You are amazing!
Thank you for your feedback and support!
@@GreatDayForAHike You're most welcome! I bought Action 3 last week and I've got the battery case too, do you think this battery case can be also used as a power bank like Anker?
I don’t think this particular battery case can be used in that manner, unfortunately.
Best review I have watched, thanks
You’re welcome and I appreciate your feedback.
To me, the best information giver of this interesting action cam. Thanks for your outstanding presentation.
Thank you for your feedback and I’m glad you found this helpful.
Outstanding review - really appreciate the effort - Thank you !
You’re welcome and I appreciate it!
Woow! Never saw such a sincere & meticulous tutorial. Tons & tons of thanks !!
But Sir, (1) how do you handle the infamous 5 minute clip fregmentation (due to 4 GB limit)?
(2) Does the gap (from prev to new clip) will ruin a continuous shot?
(3) is there a way to select video bitrate to reduce file size?
Thanks in advance...
You went through everything except the one thing I was looking for which was the Loop Recording lol
Yes, loop recording is available on the Action 3 and you can configure it to customize the interval. A great option for ensuring you capture a specific moment that you don’t exactly when it will occur without potentially filling up your MicroSD card.
