Brilliant idea, and I hope to see the British watch industry bloom in upcoming years from the seeds these people are planting right now.
Who is Patrick? It’s never explained what he’s doing here!
If Germany can do it so can Britain. Clarkenwell was once the hub of watchmaking excellence. The Swiss just industrialised it. It would be nice to one day see a generic movement produced in Britain, akin to ETA, used by British micro brands and exported to others, maybe with endorsement (and credibility) from Roger.
This was absolutely brilliant. As an Anglophile it’s a pleasure to wear a British watch. Happy to own a Christopher Ward and a Fears.
I didn’t realise that Christopher Ward cared this much, very interesting.
Patrick was so insightful in this!
Think I received my pin and certificate 2 weeks ago now. Very proud to be a club member of the alliance and great to share the passion that Mike and Roger have for it. Great video Adrian although felt a little sorry for Patrick as he didn’t really get an introduction. Correct me if I’m wrong but is he the guy that’s helping you out at B&J now? If he is a very warm welcome Patrick.
Five minutes in, I felt obliged to extend my thanks to Adrian and his guests for this very interesting and insightful show. Back to your video.
Thanks Adrian, as always, great content. Lovely to see the passion in the guys for growing British industry. Let’s hope it’s a real success 🇬🇧
Christopher ward is an amazing brand. I have one and I couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of it.
I had one years ago and it had dust in it. It put me off the brand at the time and while I likely got unlucky I just never went back. Good to hear you are happy though !
Mine had dust in it too. Had to return it. They seem to have a lot of qc issues these days
WHAT AN ALL STAR CREW OMG. Fantastic video - thank you for releasing this into the world B&J!
Would be nice to hear more from Patrick!!!!
Yeah weirdly his audio cut out for over half of the video. Next time we will record his audio locally.
Hello, it's so nice to see people enjoying the challenge. I just wish them great success. Thank you for hosting and posting. Keep well, keep safe and be happy
Great to see this initiative; hopefully supportive and looking for springboards towards even more improvements and marketability. Well done Adrian for tasing all our awareness.
Great chat and an exciting endeavour, looking forward to hearing more....
Adrian...Well Done! The video was extremely informative that a few Brits are trying bring the British Watchmakers together and grow the industry. I totally enjoyed it. Cheers!
One the best vids you have done since you started loved it!
Thanks a lot Steve.
What a GREAT initiative!!
I was floored how time flew so fast! That’s how interesting this was 😃👍🏻
Great interview Adrian. We're really excited to see how this develops.
Great episode. Really interesting chat. Love the interviews you do.
Adrian, another awesomely interesting video. Thanks!
This was a great chat, thank you. I want to say that as a watchmaking student at BSoW I am a proud member of the Alliance and I can't wait to start working in the British watchmaking industry. Cheers!
Wow, absolute dream video meeting!
Best of luck to the British Watchmaking industry.
Would be a dream to participate in something so pure and stimulating like that.
Very good and informative show. I’ve enjoyed your previous videos but this was one of the best.
Sorry this comment was late but I just wanted to say that this upload has been so informative and educational and the plans that Roger and Mike/CW have is so refreshing and great for a way the UK can become a real force in watch manufacturing and design. This should be applauded as should you for bringing this to us to listen to! Thank you
Thanks Adrian for putting this together. Hope Patrick's audio will be functional next time. To Mike France - a titanium version of the C65 GMT Worldtimer would be great. Cheers from the Nevada desert. 👍⌚🇬🇧🇺🇸
Great interview..well done!
I'm already a member, which is kind of strange seeing that I'm American, but it turns out I do have a fondness for British watch makers. I've purchased a couple Mr Jones for my wife, several CW's for me and I've been holding back from picking up an Anordain, Farer and Pinion. Adrian, your interview on Fears put me onto their exquisite salmon dialed piece and I loved the story...and after watching the Timeless Watch Channel's review of Zero West, it's now on the list.
I'm not sure how much longer I can resist!
You're definitely not alone. I'm now a member thanks to this vid as I've developed an affinity for British watches and watchmaking. This is now the trailhead for my active exploration of the many brands out there that I've not heard about.
Very exciting. Will check out the website.
My brother bought the C60 Trident Pro 600 mk2 white dial many years ago at an absolute steal from some guy who bought it at CW's AD in London on vacation, brought it back into the U.S., and sold it on eBay for nearly $300 including shipping because he just wanted to get rid of it. He's in love with it and will never let it go. When I handle the watch you can feel it's good quality, very solid, and something worth keeping to enjoy for a very long time.
This is fantastic. What a video. Brilliant. Thanks for sharing
Such a humble guys , always been a supporter of British watchmaking
Great video. Fascinating. Thanks for this. Would be nicer to get them back for updates.
I’ve written quite a few CW reviews and have sold a couple of dozen through the links. Been a buyer since the early 2000s. I took one around the world, through thick and thin. Always worked perfectly.
Congratulations on capturing the biggest scoop in watchmaking news since forever! This is real actual good news and we all heard it here on BARK & JACK. Tremendous. I'm definitely joining the Club but I need . . . NEED! . . . more info on how to obtain a Brit manufactured (or partially manufactured or inspired) wristwatch
super cool to see two brands from opposite ends of the market spectrum join together for something like this. This video and alliance has opened my eyes to some really cool pieces and brands that ill keep an eye on
Great video on a great idea - Well done 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great video Adrian, and a great alliance in watch making, love the lets make British, British again and show the world we can do just as good if not better than the rest..
Great video presentation! Very interesting and well done!
CW is the best bang for buck out there! Keep up the good work 👍💪 I would also love to see a new GMT! Preferably white dial
A very dangerous brand. So many affordable interesting pieces with 0 waitlist.
@@owenmccord5078 I know! Its like they want you to buy their watches or something?! Completely breaking with the Swiss method 😂😂😂😂😂
A Christopher Ward (thin titanium) Dive watch with an in house coaxial and a display case back would be amazing!
Love this idea!
Well this has definitely increased my interest in Christopher Ward for a next purchase (flieger/field-ish) over Stowa
at the very moment, I was as Christopher Ward website - longing for a supercool GMT ... amazing :-)
Awesome talk: a bit on the business side. Interesting, informative. Thanks
Fantastic news. We need to rebuild the British watchmaking industry. We used to we World leading, I believe, along with the French.
Joined - thanks for highlighting. I had no idea that it was for individuals as well as brands.
working together they will be a tour de force in watch making. This makes for a very exciting future, i will be keeping a eye on CW as they make awesome watches.
Fantastic video. New appreciation for British watchmaking.
Awesome, impressive group B&J!!
Thanks Jim.
Riveting stuff and great guests Adrian. The thing I take away from this video most is reassurance, reassurance that British watch making will soon be back at the pinnacle of the watch making industry.
Great video and excellent alliance. Own 2 CW and amazing watches and quality. Good work buddy!
Adrian is not a fan of CW watches as he indicated in previous videos.
Brilliant discussion
Brilliant, among your best content.
Could you please provide a link to their website?
Great work Adrian, thanks mate really appreciated 👍🏻👍🏻
Great chat. I must and will buy a British watch very soon.
Roger Smith is a living treasure
Must admit that CW do the occasional great watch. I got a bronze diver for my dad and he loves it now it has aged a little. But sometimes they miss completely too. Do love their loupe magazine though, always brilliantly written. Cheers Adrian.
Now this is quality. Loved it.
Great video, found it inspiring. It was nice to hear about positive things coming post covid, which for some reason id forgotten. Looking forward even more to my C60sapphire coming now! Plus looked on the there website. Think you should put a link in though!
Brilliant video as usual! I love Christopher Ward watchea
Great content, Adrian.
Great stuff. It is good to learn a little more about Christopher Ward. And of course Roger Smith is the dude! Thanks for putting this together.

The Alliance is a small piece of business genius. Well done and wish you all the best to grow the industry.
Interesting stuff, thanks Adrian. I really like the pithy 7min or so videos but the grab a coffee and brace yourself ones are very welcome too. Great content 👌🏽
Thought for a minute, CW were going to announce a co-axial escapement in one of the their watches,, lol...
Roger Smith is the most down to earth and humble guy, always so insightful and bright-eyed when speaking about watches. The CW watches look very nice too, never looked into that brand. I like the project they are working on, a collective good for the industry in the UK-smart, cool, and hopefully sustainable.
Love Christopher Ward! I own three of their watches. The build quality is outstanding. The Light Catcher case on my Dartmouth is beautiful
great idea, and an interesting video with the King
What a great insight to a wonderful industry and foresight to long term sustainability of watchmaking within your own borders.
Thank you Adrian for putting this together for us to view.
Both these gentlemen seem down to earth and their hearts in the right place.
I’m far away in Australia.
We’re proud of the Australian Made Logo.
COVID 19 opening all our eyes.
We all need to claw back.
I own several luxury time pieces. I am impressed by Chris Ward and love mine very much. Keep up the good work gents👍
I've got a couple of Cristopher Ward watches, still figuring out how to get the Roger Smith one though. Very interesting video to see the different approaches of the two companies.
Since I first got into this ‘hobby’ I did notice that amongst all the big boys was this Christopher Ward British watch brand, as my interest in watches grew and CZcams and podcasts gradually took over spare time I did remember a Scottish Watches podcast featured Christopher Ward. They came over as ‘normal’ approachable, knowledgeable and caring for what their customers actually wanted which definitely makes you want to keep an eye out on what they have to offer.
Putting a face to a brand has been great and the idea of over 40 brands collectively pushing forward is really exciting.
Obviously Adrians early video with a Roger Smith was a massive eye opener to the field of what goes on behind closed doors and helped enormously too!
I was at a London RedBar in 2019 and I got talking to a few people who worked at Bremont and again seeing faces behind the brands really does make you take more interest in watches that aren’t necessarily your style but it does make you care! I’m sure we’ve all looked up Fears watches after hearing and seeing the many entertaining interviews with Nicholas.
Being able to walk into a show in the future with predominantly British watches represented will be something really to look forward too! 🥳
Oh yeah great video Adrian!
Very cool initiative and a great video. So many brands on there that I hadn't come across before. Why are Bremont not involved?
I am a a personal member of the Alliance. and so I think it is a good idea. Perhaps you could consider this very enjoyable and informative video as penance served for the Zenith video.
Definitely want to see more of Patrick, provides a very different perspective
Great video to watch, I will be joining the British Watch and Clock Makers, in my stupidity I didn’t even know they existed as a watch collector.
Would love to see Bremont part of this industry forum
Great video and insight into great brittish watch making.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻🏴
I love my C60 Blue. Amazing watch. Get one while there is still stock.
That was my first and 2 more quickly followed.
Good to hear that Roger and Alistair were involved in setting this up, and also that Mike is a fellow blue. My Christopher Ward is one of my most accurate and beautiful watches, although I haven't got a Roger Smith yet ;)
Thanks for this. Christopher Ward is such a criminally underrated watch brand. They punch way above their weight. They are as good, if not better, than Oris but at half the price.
Smashing vid bud
Thanks Corey. 👍🏻
Love this.
This was great. Agreed on SalonQP. Even though it gave the chance to get close and personal to watches (and their makers) that otherwise we could only see in magazines (got to try on Voutilainen, MB&F, Lange, Urban Jurgensen etc) it felt it was a bit...all over the place? And indeed it was declining year by year. On the plus side, I got to attend a talk by Roger Smith and have a quick chat with him after also. What an absolute gent.
Great about the 'alliance'. Britain has a rich history in watch and clock-making and it's exciting to know that there is a decent effort by the right people to bring British watchmaking back into prominence.
This has filled me with joy and pride, I think its good to compare watch and clock making with the automotive industry, perhaps they follow a similar trajectory over time? Would be an interesting comparison, but both are on the up and that is excellent 👍
Fantastic to have something homegrown in our hobby to be proud of
I love and collect watches from all over the world and I’m glad that I can add a British watch to my collection 😁
Great stuff. Hope you can review watches from some members.
Loved this chat
CW does some awesome watches. Would love to see them add half-links to their bracelets.
very interesting and signed up! But Adrian, dont you still have your CWC G10???
Getting Roger Smith and these other fine gentlemen away from their watchbenches...Adrian, you have done an immense thing and would like to see the Brits have more prominence in the watch world!
I have an an original alsta chrono from my grandfather and it’s amazing! Didn’t know the connection to this epic to see it at 10:51
Would love to see international manufacturers follow these guys’ lead and develop their own national manufacturing/branding networks.
Well done by all those involved!
Roger Smith, top bloke! Good luck with The Alliance! xx
What a breath of fresh air hearing the thoughts of Roger Smith and Christopher Ward about the possible future of British watchmaking. It's great to hear about the higher-end watches, wouldn't it be great to have an everyday affordable watch make similar to Timex and Smiths as we had in the sixties.
Brian Pritchard Photographer and watch collector.
I have Two Christopher Ward watches C65 Mk1 and Trident GMT very good watches, glide lock style bracelet adjustment, (al bracelet should have this) looking to get a C11 model at some point.
People like Roger Smith are royalties in the business.
A nice change 👍 Any chance of some links?
I’ve just joined as the video ended; and I think my next watch will be from these shores :)
More like this good Vid
Loved the football chat 😁😂
What sites and apps do you guys use to get watch industry updates etc?
Great video Adrian, you definitely need to buy a British made watch.
Why have you removed your review of the CW C60 GMT from your site?
Stellar video. I always learn something from your videos/podcasts. I’ve been trying out other watch podcasts and have been sorely disappointed. They’ve been mostly inane ramblings with poor production quality. Good luck with the project!
