  • ChatGPT has the potential to enhance learning by providing instant answers, explanations, and personalized assistance to students. It can offer additional support, especially in areas where teachers may be limited. However, concerns arise regarding overreliance on artificial intelligence, as it lacks human understanding and may provide incorrect or incomplete information. Educators must consider the ethical and practical implications of integrating ChatGPT into educational settings for optimal learning outcomes. A panel of experts from UC San Diego discuss the benefits and pitfalls of the chatbot's use in education settings. Recorded on 04/19/2023. [Show ID: 38936]

I am a senior using Duolingo to brush up on a language I studied for many years. I find that using Google translate, which might be considered cheating, helps me learn whereas the leader board pressure just annoys me. I like that Duolingo wants me to learn, tries to motivate me in a way I am free to ignore (leader board is low stakes--nothing depends on my performance there), and doesn't care if I "cheat". We do need to build culture that fosters intrinsic motivation to learn. I have come to see CZcams that way (in addition to making it easy to waste a lot of time). Sobering, too, to note that tools like Duolingo and Grammarly are imposing a somewhat odd/narrow AI dialect and style on learners. I am fairly hopeful about the persistence of human creativity nevertheless.

In the hallowed halls where wisdom resides,
From teacher to chatbot, the role divides.
    ChatGPT emerges, a digital guide,
In the educational dance, where knowledge abides.
Once held by mentors with wisdom's grace,
Now a chatbot assists in the learning space.
From classroom echoes to the digital tide,
A poetic exploration, where roles coincide.
Teachers, architects of the educational chart,
ChatGPT as a companion, playing a part.
Lesson plans crafted in the algorithmic rhyme,
A poetic revelation, where education climbs.
    Students navigate the knowledge sea,
From teacher to chatbot, in the academic spree.
Homework queries in the digital light,
A poetic odyssey, where insights ignite.
Yet, let us ponder with reflective eyes,
The balance struck as education flies.
From teacher to chatbot, a partnership's start,
A poetic journey, where knowledge imparts.
In the symphony of learning, a harmonious blend,
From teacher to chatbot, as allies ascend.
A new chapter in education's book,
A poetic insight, where roles may look.

Why can't teachers simply give AI assignments and non-AI assignments? It's just that simple. 🤷‍♀️ I've allowed my students to use AI in my lessons. I've also coded a Chatbot for my exam review. This means I was with my students without being there. I also give assignments where they cannot use AI at all. Just use both in the classroom. If teachers are cheating and using AI to help them plan lessons, then why can't students use it?

I came across your discussion by searching for something on CZcams that had nothing to do with your discussion at all.

CZcams and Android only alarm me to do two word inclusions before I get cut off. Try fixing that first before you get involved in anything anything else at the moment I am speaking very slowly like a cyborg and that is the only way that your CZcams listens to my voice and I'm using AI to do very fascinating stuff in the world even though one year ago I had never used a computer at all . I am not one of your students trying to cheat I am just trying to automate very many Carmen functions that can be done by using.
... God the one thing that CZcams can do is fix up their chat to me functionality because every time I talk to

If this is is Google channel and this is part of Germany and vertex and emerging it is really bad at the very first hurdle of getting onto the only way I can get the thing to do anything is by talking at a level of speech that is probably about 1/4 of my normal speech

On the positive side I am using a chat GTP and go pilot and Google board and hugging face to see while they can help bit dyslexic people like me with learning disabilities to make a contribution to the world because I work for a huge governmental organisation delivering learning to marginalised people of which I am one and I am using this and add other GPT tools to be my tutor and I am using it constantly every day it is a 30 I have to talk to this Android microphone at 1/4 speed of my normal dictation ratio because it cuts me off every 10 words I speak to wet I am going to see if charge etp or any of the other all MMS can fix this problem for me because I have a learning disability but I am using all of those GPT models to teach myself how to do stuff in the real world every day in the things that they really matter in like rehabilitating prisoners and people with mental disorders and....stuff

That took me a lot of time to record because I am talking at 1:45 because it is probably artificial intelligence that is sorting this whole thing

Teacher Chatbots as tutors teaching students to teach AI as Chatbots. I see some redundancies here.

How will the real human teachers be able to keep up with the curriculum being taught and its accuracy and at the same time tutoring the child when before the teacher barely had enough time to teach, let alone go over problems to solve or further discussions of the subjects at hand? You can't assume AI is all-knowing and is accurately teaching. Being human means being unique in their teaching methods. If there becomes one standard curriculum, then we will be one step closer to the nwoagend a.

Chat GPT’s role in education is helping kids cheat equally and fairly amongst each other
