      Ali wins. Mike is my favorite fighter but Ali was simply to good for him. "One punch and Ali is in a coma" are you serious right now? Ali took some of the hardest punchers ever thrown inside a boxing ring and just smiled, he had the strongest core ever, you couldn't hurt him to the body, he very rarely got dropped, but whenever he did get dropped he got straigh back up, he never got kod even when he was old and washed and brain damaged he was fighting prime 25 year olds and they couldn't come close to koing him. he was the greatest.

      Like i said mike is my favourite fighter so i'm well aware of his history, yes he was a monster puncher but he wouldn't of landed on a young Ali and even if he did, Ali had a monster chin. Watch Tysons fight with james tillis in 1986, Tillis copied Ali's style and gave Tyson a hard 10 round fight. If that was a prime or even past prime Ali in there with tyson instead of tillis, tyson woulda got shcooled.

    It's pretty easy to get what Tyson was saying. He kept bringing up Ali's endurance by saying how he kept fighting even when he was "dead" in the 14th round. What Tyson was trying to say is that Ali's endurance coupled with his lightning speed would be something Tyson could not match. When he says "He'll take you to deep water and drown you" it's like he's saying Ali would just keep you going and wear you down, and THAT'S something Tyson couldn't beat.

      ***** No Kuz you are not wrong. When Cus D Amato and Kevin Rooney in his corner MT was absolutely a relentless stalker and smasher. Cus knew how to beat anybody, and it was he who tipped Muhammad Ali on how to beat George Foreman in particular. Cus saw the weaknesses of Ali which in their first fight Joe Frazier was able to capitalize on. If that would have been MT in the ring with Cus behind him Ali would have been crushed. Mike with again Cus and Kevin in his corner in any era would have been dominate as all hell. The 1985-1989 MT was at his most dangerous and a 20 something Mike vs Ali would have been epic. Mike however, would have killed Ali inside of 7 rounds.

    I love the respect Tyson shows for Ali, and for that very reason, that's what makes Tyson one of the greatest, his knowledge for the game, the studying of old boxers, Cus wanted to make a wrecking machine and he got that in Mike, he made the complete fighter, speed, aggression, elusive, power, the wisdom he taught him, Tyson was tailor made to beat Ali, did Norton have the power of Tyson? no, did Frazier have the speed of Tyson? no, yet both these men beat Ali, yet neither of these men had the aggression, combos or anywhere near as elusive as Tyson was either, as much as i love Ali for what he accomplished inside and outside the ring, I think Ali would have serious, serious trouble with Mike, more than any other fighter he met in his glorious career, both legends, would of been a great fight...deep waters and drown you, beautifully put.

To give a prime Tyson problems, you would have to be extremely quick, evasive, agile and have a stamina tank off the charts to keep moving for the whole fight. To give prime Ali problems, you would have to be very skilled at providing relentless pressure and closing the distance.

      Ali’s style wasn’t about intimidation though. He was all about getting under the skin of his opponents and tiring them emotionally before the fight. If you want to see a master of intimidation and scare tactics who was probably a more dangerous human being then Ali then you should check out Sonny Liston. Liston was someone both Tyson and Foreman tried to emulate in the ring. Foreman sparred with Liston many times and always said that he was the most intimidating presence he’s ever witnessed in the ring.

      Afzal Rahman I can assure you that none of those fighters were intimidated by Ali. George Foreman and Sonny Liston were probably frustrated by him more than anything but Frazier was like kryptonite to Ali. Ali never had an easy fight against Joe Frazier and the night they fought in Manila took such a toll on them both that Ali said he thought he was going to die. Intimidation is Tyson vs Spinks, Spinks was so scared of Tyson that he lost that fight before it ever started.

      Ali went 15 rounds after a 3 1/2 year layoff not in his prime with a prime joe Frazier ..no Tyson would not beat ali

    Tyson has so much respect for Ali so he just wants to stay humble but I think Tyson could actually give Ali a good run. Tyson in is prime was nothing short of the best.

    • @APDaBaron
      @APDaBaron Před 8 lety +2

      He was too short. That's what fucked Tyson against GOOD tall fighters he washes them. Against ELITE taller fighters, he's giving up way to much length. And I think we all agree Ali was elite. Now I'd pay to see prime Tyson vs prime Foreman, I think That fight ends within 3 or 4 rounds with both them swinging for the fences, and a more talented Tyson coming out on top.

      I believe Tyson idolizes Ali......like some idolize Tyson *coughguiltycough*.
      Hes got to believe his idol is the best.
      Tyson was a FAAAAR more skilled boxer than Ali. His skills were so perfected.
      You REALLY could see all his training paying off in the ring. There is not one prime Tyson fight that was boring to watch because Tyson skill, style and ease with which he finished his opponent was so.........pfff.........

      No, Tyson at his peak, outside his troubled years of jail, drugs and trainer dying, would flatten Ali, Tyson had everything at his peak, he had the cardio, he had evasiveness, his punch would knock Alis head off, and Tyson would psych Ali out. It would be over for Ali in the 5th round, a knockout by Tyson

      Not sure. I can see Tyson being the one with more damage, as it goes. Similar to what he looked like after the Lewis fight from all the straight punches he took. Ali I think would have not taken as many as we think. We are talking about prime Ali, right? No. Tyson hardly touches him. I don't believe his ring generalship was as good as Frazier.

    Ali would win (this is gonna be unpopular) but this is why I think this way.
    Tyson's chin was always questionable, and Ali could take some of the hardest punchers we've ever seen's punches (Shavers, Foreman). If Tyson is fighting prime Ali, that means he's capable of the sort of things he did to Brian London. Just watch that fight if you think Ali is over-rated.
    This shit gonna make some people cry but if George Foreman cannot knock Ali out, Mike Tyson cannot because he doesn't hit harder than Foreman, prime Ali was flawless, such speed, power, finesse and technique.

    • @dkhill27

    • @Ad.44..
      @Ad.44.. Před 9 lety +5

      ***** Ali wouldn't be intimidated by Tyson, Tyson may have hit harder than Frazier but Foreman hits harder than them combined, and Ali outboxed him completely, we're talking about the same Mike Tyson who avoided a 45+ year old Foreman, who Ali beat in his prime.

    • @Ad.44..
      @Ad.44.. Před 9 lety +1

      ***** The fact of the matter is this, Mike Tyson didn't really know how to handle a fighter who knew how to take him past round 6 and could work off the jab, Ali's speed and (not excluding Ali had one of the best chins heavyweight boxing has seen), would mean the fight would almost definitely go past there. Alot of people use Tyson's power as the reason for why he would beat Ali (since it would be the only chance he would have of winning) but they don't realise, Ali was never ever stopped in his career, and he was never knocked out, the Joe Frazier knock down on him in 71 I think was one of the cleanest hooks I've seen and Ali got back up within seconds, I don't think Tyson has much of a power advantage over Frazier/Liston, and he definitely doesn't have Foremans power, that's why I don't see him knocking Ali out.
      Tyson was indeed an amazing fighter but Ali proved time and time again that he had the skill-set to beat a power puncher with his jab and rope-a-dope techniques.
      Lest we forget, we never saw Ali's true prime, Ali was banned for 4 years which would of been his prime, he would of been at his mental and physical peak.
      Ali also fought the best heavyweight fighters boxing has ever seen, Tysons opponents were of a much lesser calibre.

    • @ibuprofen303
      @ibuprofen303 Před 9 lety +1

      For the millionth time. Tyson did not hit ''hard'' as such. I mean he did, but he wasn't one of the hardest hidders like Shavers etc. - It was his combinations, notably body > head that knocked guys out. He hit them in such a way in such a place with such a combination of punches as to knock them out.
      Combined with his speed and head movement that allowed him to get close with those short little arms and deliver uppercuts and hooks from very close range in very fast power combinations.
      Tyson didn't hit nearly as hard as the top tier of hard hitters like Foreman, Shavers, possibly Lyle etc.

    • @ibuprofen303
      @ibuprofen303 Před 9 lety

      *****
      I think to an extent you and me are saying the same thing, it's just that I disagree with you about it being due to power. Personally I think it's more technique, and yes, speed in Tyson's case. Perhaps you have a point about the speed thing. Speed equals power. Ok, I'll meet you on that.
      Tyson didn't hit harder than say Foreman but he hit faster and perhaps with better technique. People forget that Tyson was actually a very very good technical boxer with very good punching technique and head movement, as I'm sure you're aware.
      One of Tyson's techniques as well was to hit body then head. A great KO technique. He was especially adept at this.

    I love listening to Mike talk about Ali. I could listen all day. Because I feel the same way. No one beats him. He's the toughest man to ever step foot in the ring and the most technically skilled heavyweight ever. and he's 6'3 so in any era he'd be the greatest. Never knocked out in spite of facing the deadliest hitters ever. it would take an atom bomb to keep him down for the count. He was an animal!

Now with that being said I love all of the people that are saying that Mike fought nobody's.... you can't blame him for being better than everyone else... during that Era there weren't many heavyweights that could stand with him in a ring, he was a different animal all together

      What are you talking about? He fought complete scrubs and they still took him the distance. Mitch Green, Bonecrusher Smith... James Tillis in a scheduled 10 round fight that Tyson would have clearly lost in 12 rounds... and these are some of the worst boxers in boxing history. Tyson even fought for the IBF belt against a guy with a broken wrist Tony Tucker... and Tucker took Tyson the distance with one hand. And this was all a ''prime'' Tyson. Maybe you should just stick to music, because boxing clearly isn't your thing. I'm surprised you're not drooling over Deontay Wilder with his gaudy record of KO'ing a bunch of scrubs.
