- Alicante day trip, La VilaJoiosa is a cute coastal town in the Province of Alicante, Spain, on the Costa Blanca coast on the Mediterranean Sea. The town is known by the locals as La Vila.
Join us as we take a Daytrip from ALICANTE, Spain to explore this beautiful beach town. While there we explored the narrow streets filled with colorful houses, went to one of the many chocolate shops (there are factories in the town),
Enjoy the beaches, which are rarely filled
and of course, stopped by for a beverage and a bite to eat at one of the numerous restaurants

My grandma moved here when I was 2- I’m 51 now 😮… I always remember this specific nice smell in the apartment block that’s never left me. I’m keen to visit again.

Great and informative video…..me and my partner go to Alicante city 3 or 4 times every year especially in June when the main festival is on but have never been to villajoyosa…..Thanks to your short vid, we will definitely be going there next year……have a second night and enjoy 😊

When ordering you can say "me pone dos Cañas"( pronounced can-yas) are the small, doble next up and tercero is the large. Excited to see more of your journey. ENJOY!!!!!

Ive been holidaying in Villajoyosa since 2016, its worth visiting the marina area & automated (computerized) fish market auction + the chinese supermarket in the centre of town and the local general market on thursdays - your right too, the beaches never get crowded except during the Moors & Christian festival in late July which lasts a week.
We really enjoyed Villajoyosa and don't understand why it's a bit of an unknown. Thank you for the comments and advice on what to see. Great little town!!!

Loving your videos and so glad you're enjoying Spain. If you liked Villajoyosa you must visit Calpe if you get the chance. Could I ask, do you think Alicante or Valencia for a long weekend break? I'd be interested to know your opinion as I've not been to either city yet and am looking to go for a mini break with my 20 Yr old daughter before Christmas. Many thanks, Michelle :)
We are planning on heading up to explore more of that area in the next day or two. We hadn't considered Calpe but looked it up now that you suggested it and plan on going. Thank you!!
As far as a long weekend break I think Valencia during the Christmas season would be fantastic!

Excited to see where you are off to next and my daughter's actually picked Alicante for our pre Christmas break so I'm pretty excited to see it in the real. Hello Brian and Carrie we like your videos! Wife and I thinking about retiring early. We happen to want to check out the same region of Spain you are doing. We like warm year around and that strip of coast line appeals to us. (Valencia to Alicante) How is the humidity ? So....Valencia or Alicante?? I am afraid that Valencia might be to big for us and Alicante too small. Be safe guys have fun!!

Hi Mark! We are loving early retirement and encourage and hopefully inspire people our age to do the same. As for as humidity, it's not bad at all. We are from Bellingham Wa. so wouldn't handle humidity all to well. Valencia is fantastic but it's too big for us. Alicante is a bigger city than I was expecting so I don't believe it would be too small. All depends on what you are looking for. I would prefer Alicante. We will be heading up the coast again next week so stay tuned. It's a beautiful part of the world!
@@BrianandCarrie Wow small world !! WE live in Bellingham too! We live near Sqaulicum HS. Our youngest graduated ASU last year. We are empty nesters. Nothing really keeping us here. Have been doing the research of living abroad for the past year. So cool.. Can't wait to see more videos !
No way!!! We lived in the condos in Barkley Village before deciding to sell everything we own and travel the world. We vacationed in Portugal a couple years ago and loved it. That's when we started thinking about living abroad. We are now on a quest to find the perfect spot. Hopefully your research goes well and you find yours!
