There are only TWO yarn sets left in the Superwash MCN Base from Nights 2 and Night 5! www.etsy.com/listing/1198317763/2022-chemknits-spring-yarn-set-mystery You can pick a night now that they've all been shared.
That blue is so much better that the Frozen! I was so sceptical when you chose it but that was a genius move. The tonality and depth and even the spread works so well with Radioactive and Purple Pop. Well done!
It worked SO WELL! Frozen often does well if I use a lot more of it... but this was even better.
Just living my rainbow dreams!
YES!!
THey all came out beautiful Rebecca!
thank you so much!
I’d like to see one finger in each color, then dabbed all at once, like multicolor rainbow touches!
Oooo that would be fun!
11:48 yes this is why i came here, yarn dyeing with bane 😌
I heart darth vador while editing myself with the respirator a lot.
Wow! Now that's some pretty yarn. I absolutely love the neon colors an this is amazing. You are so talented. Hope you have a blessed day
Thank you so much, Cheryl!
👀😮🥳🎉🎉🎉🎉 Rebecca these a absolutely beautiful 😍 I need this set !!!!
Thank you! 🤗 I want to dye up more of these
Each skein more beautiful than the last-no matter what order you put them in. Pick a favorite? Not possible. Can't. Be. Done.
Awe, thank you so much!
Love the neons. I'll have to get some. Blessings.
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much again❤
That zebra yarn would look amazing with purple blue greys or purple blue green
Oh yes. I'm very obsessed with this yarn base, it is just so fun already. I'm sure I could spin something similar to it (not as regular repeats with the black vs white ply, but the same concept) and I love that this is available from a bare yarn supplier.
LOVE the DK zebra yarn mops! I want a beanie and cowl set in those! So cool!!! YAY 90's children :)
I'm totally torn on what to make with it! I may weave a scarf, but I also want to knit with it... and to dye somemore. lol.
@@ChemKnitsTutorials ohhhh a woven scarf would be amazing!
OMG, I just love love LOVE my bonus skein 😊❤️❤️❤️
YAY!!! thank you so so much!
I'm so excited to show you these final colorways for the 2022 SMSMS! Check out the ChemKnits Creations Etsy shop for more fun yarn: chemknitscreations.etsy.com/
Love these!
Thank you!
Have you ever considered a video on color correction. Say you have a yarn base that has a yellow tint and you want to use it in a cool color project. Or perhaps you have a yarn that is just a little cooler than would fit with a magenta project. I'm thinking rather than changing the whole color, just adjusting the tone?
I haven't tried doing something that subtle before, at least not on purpose. In my depths of shade neon video czcams.com/video/xr1Yf5ncu3w/video.html I think I shared that the yak almost felt more cool toned vs warm toned.
This series was so much fun I love the brite rainbows the best. I loved the secondary color you got in the earlier color mixing video with the three primaries. What if you just use those primary colors spaced out and then let them bleed together by adding more water or adding a watered-down version.
I think instead of letting them bleed together I could layer them on top of each other a bit more, and it would be incredible.
Nice color😊
Thank you 🤗
Luckily citric acid is fine on Lurex. It doesn’t dull it like it does the Stellina. I use CA on my Lurex often.
I need to do a test! I know that a little CA can be fine on stellina... but watching it turn CLEAR in my experiment was really interesting.
Hi, I haven't bought any Knitpicks yet because I had a huge yarn stash. What I have learned is how difficult some yarns are to knit with and how they pill and fuzz and the plies come apart and geez, as I destash this past year I became really cognizant of the variations. I am on a senior budget so I usually buy Joanne's on sale mostly Paton wool sock and worsted due to price. I want to ask for comments of your fave yarn that not only takes dye well but knits well .... as well! Any feedback is welcome.
Holy neon rainbow... It makes me soooo super happy!!! How did u like trading out that frozen for Caribbean blue? I know you don't knit socks much but man those mops you kept in fingering and dk would be some awesome socks, and since summer sock camp just started....... Lol 🤣 Thank you for all the hard work you have put into the yarn and the videos this week. It's been amazing and we have another night to go.
Thank you, Lacie! I really liked using the Carib Blue a lot, it gave more spread which I always wanted the Frozen to do.
I love watching you! I have to ask your professional opinion. Do you think purple pop would be too "in your face" for a sweater? I bought some Knitpicks Woodland Tweed, in bulk (because, why the heck not). I want to do a bright color because I want the black tweed to stand out. But, I don't want a color that is too "NEON IN YOUR FACE!" if you catch my drift. Since you have seen the colors in person, I figure you could weigh in.
I think that it could be fine as a sweater. Woodland tweed is a hair darker than bare stroll etc, so colors at lower depths of shade can look different on it. I recommend you refer to this video where I look at different depths of shade of the neon colors: czcams.com/video/xr1Yf5ncu3w/video.html If you don't want it neon, I'd go less than a 0.5% DOS for sure, but then it is up to you!
@@ChemKnitsTutorials thank you so much! I am binge watching your videos right now. (ADHD means I go through phases). I will watch that one now.
How did you feel after using the Caribbean Blue? Do you think you will use it from now on when dyeing with neons?
Ps. I love how it looks on my screen!
I think when I use it will depend a bit. I feel like it is way more intense at a 1% DOS or even a 0.5% DOS than the other colors, so it's almost a whole different issue. I may redo my neon triangle with carribean blue and then see from there. I do like that it spreads out a lot more.
Can you tell me the different in feel of the zebra superwash vs non? I'm about to order but idk what the non superwash would feel like.
The biggest difference is the type of wool. The superwash DK is 100% superwash merino wool, and is smooth and soft. The Non-superwash fingering is 100% peruvian highland wool, and has a sturdy feel to it. It isn't as soft as the superwash merino but I still really like it. (if you've ever used KnitPicks Palette or wool of the andes it feels similar to them)
