Sooo.. LOL with how many requests I had for this song I 100% went into this 1st time listen thinking this was real.
I had no clue it was a 'meme' song or that the entire thing was written in a DAW.
So LOL yeah I dont know what else to say.
To say it’s a “meme” song isn’t quite right, the band considers themselves a “meme” band, but the music they make is still real. The whole reason Aaron made this drum play through is because so many people were saying that he’s a fake drummer, and that all the drums were programmed and he would never be able to play them. You can watch old footage of them in the studio recording the vocals, guitars, drums, and see the hard work they put into their songs.

IA is an internet meme band that's also very well written and played by talented musicians. That is that they don't do live performances and their whole thing is a satirical take on how excessive death metal can be. For example, their lyrics are extreme for the sake of it, though well written, to say they aren't for the faint of heart is an understatement (even for most metal fans). Although Arron can play many of their songs, he probably can't do a whole set like that.

Spencer is the real beast and no triggers like Aaron do not play 25% live and Spencer plays 100% live , same the Studio.
That is madness! Normally, going that fast on drums would make things muddled and messy but this is stupidly clean. I am not anywhere near somebody who could critique music, but this is one of the cleanest and craziest things I've seen and heard!

Yes cause it's programmed, there are 2 vids on youtube pointing this out, if you slow the video down enough you can hear 5 snare hits and only see 3.
It sounds supper clean because it’s sample replaced. on a kit live it’s wouldn’t sound as clean an this.

Aaron Kitcher is from Hull, UK and released this when he was 22 so probably recorded much earlier.
If you want some more interesting drumming check out Darkside from the Polish black metal band Mgła with their song "Exercises in Futility V" drum cam from Brutal Assault 2019. He used to be a xylophone player so has a really unique style with his cymbals

These guys are a blast. Seeing these guys all playing together live has never and may never happen. The closest you'll get is one of their older music videos, which is for their song Decapitation Fornication. It'll tell you pretty much everything you need to know about the band.

One of my favorite songs from Infant Annihilator. But without vocals it sounds even more cooler somehow. I can't explain it but it just sounds right. So I bet that even some melodic vocals could fit in to this song, judging from how it sounds. And yes, I saw this drum playthrough and it is amazing and pure enjoyment to watch.
loved the comentaries on the track, first time I saw that I was completely blown up, specially on the nu-metal-ish part just before the snare full blast... that band is something else, specially on the videoclips LMAO

You should react to Lord Marco. He does not get enough credit in for his contribution to extreme and technical drums and his fluidity and precision of playing overall. He has drummed for all the best death and technical death metal bands like The Faceless, Braindrill, Six feet Under, Waking the Cadaver, Vital Remains.
You should check out his Playthrough of Rings of Saturn - Mental Prolapse because the mix sounds better in this playthrough and it's more recent, all though a couple of years past post the upload.

THIS is what I've been preaching for the past 10 years at least. Metal in this context has been looked down on from every other genre as the "rebellious little brother" of music where the level of talent has been put into question for so long. In terms of drums you can look at this guy, you can look at Chris Adler of Lamb Of God, Joey Jordison of Slipknot, Travis Barker, Tomas Haake of Meshuggah, The Rev of Avenged Sevenfold and so many others. It is these guys who have single handledly looked at that comment and took a big, steamy shit all over it and have told that community "We have had all it fuckin takes this entire time, so RECOGNISE". I fuckin LOVE that about metal. 😂❤
I'm glad you enjoyed this! I was pretty sure you would. I think you would also really enjoy the drum playthrough videos Austin Archey of Lorna Shore made for their latest album, "Pain Remains." You really can't go wrong with any song you pick. I'd say my favorite is "Sun//Eater" but I think "Into the Earth" and/or "Cursed to Die" tend to be more popular with most people. As for finding the videos, I think some might be on the Lorna Shore channel and others are on the MEINL channel. Enjoy!

Austin looks so bored when he plays and is so fast!!
I can see what you mean about Austin looking bored, but I also wonder if Austin wears that expression when he's playing because he's putting in a lot of energy into concentrating on what he needs to do for the song. When I was in elementary school, I remember some of my classmates asked me what I was feeling sad about, but the reality was that I wasn't feeling sad. It just so happens that my resting face makes me look sad to some people.
Anyway, maybe Austin's expression is a case of "mistaken identification." Then again, maybe not.
Nevertheless, Austin makes his playthroughs _look_ really easy, and he's not putting in as much energy as other drummers who play at Austin's proficiency. The only thing that proves Austin puts a lot of energy into his playing is how much he ends up sweating by the end of a video.

Aaron himself has admitted this in IA livestreams. He is still a very good drummer, but IA drums arent real.

FUN FACT:
This whole thing was Programmed on Superior Drummer 2 NY Avatar. Every hit is the Stock sounds in that Program with dynamics turned to 127. He just mimed along to the programmed track. It's Faked. There are other videos of him playing it live, but it is NOT Clean whatsoever, and sounds nothing like the original. He isn't a Bad Drummer, but this playthrough was 100% faked. There are certain tom hits he doesn't play in the video, but we hear a Tom hit. There are no Microphones or Trigger Nodes, and it defiantly isn't camera audio.
Now time to see all the triggered Deathcore Kids downvote my comment and start hating. Just Watch.

IA's songs are intentially rediculous. The drums aren't practical live as he can't consistently do a set and some times even some songs. He uses electronic kicks so that they sound consistent while going so fast and they'll often program drums for the recordings.

100 is a big number. While the audio is clearly bs the are blatant ergonomics of the body that are not fake

The snare sounds exactly the same every hit and the Gravity hits are identical, too loud and too perfect. He's double-pressing the base pedals yet its not what we hear. The video is dark for a reason. Also there are NO live videos besides this and they don't do concerts. Its great music and Im sure hes good but THIS video, what we hear is NOT him playing.
He's not actually playing and if you pay close attention there a lot of missed hits especially on the bass drum beaters. He's just playing along no mics. Its the main reason they dont play live. The other being the guitars cant execute live either.
I mean, somebody had to play it in the studio... I am not really worried about how many different angles we get in the "video"

Btw, everything in the video you’re reacting to, it has been proven… at least once, that he can play this live…. Granted that was like a decade ago, but you should also know, that this video is chopped and spliced and triggers galore, so take with that info. what you will. The drummer gained kind of a lot weight the following years after this video. No one knows wth the band is ever doing anymore. 🤷🏻♂️☕️

That's been pointed out. "Where are the mics" 😆 Bro, I didn't think it was a live audio presentation. I went in thinking the playing ability was real because because it was suggested as so. Zoom in?
