May 27th was the last day anyone heard from my friend Eli. He called his Mom in Texas to ask her for $40 so he could take the bus back to Las Vegas, where he lives, because the driver of the car he was with wrecked his Pole Star rental car and then abandoned him in or around Venice. Eli's mom is very sick, and so she told him to call his sister in Louisiana, but he never called and no one has heard from him since. Eli's niece in Louisiana called all the police stations and hospitals in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Venice, Hollywood, anywhere she could and there's nothing. He is mentally "out there" because he hasn't taken -psych meds in nearly one year and struggles at times with being afraid of everything to not caring at all. He is about 5'10" and skinny, Latino, scraggly beard, and he is probably looking dirty. The guy who was driving had Eli's ID and SNAP card and Eli had no money on him at all. Trying to file a missing person report is proving to be difficult because it is difficult to get someone on the phone and then they ask questions I don't have answers for. I live in Las Vegas, I can't walk in to a police station in LA County. I can't find the correct informaiton to file it here, where they could question the driver who returned on Tues. alone. Did he do something to him? I don't know... I watched this video hoping by some silly chance that I might spot him somewhere... I know, not really bright. I have so much on my plate right now, stressed, and confused because the story I heard and the story Eli's sister and niece heard do not seem to make sense.

Seems alittle late. Haven’t most vendors and honest tax payers left this area?

From a time management and resources position why is it necessary for them to walk around like a common street gang, instead of dispersing them throughout the area where they can have better coverage and better set of eyes and ears that looks like lackadaisical duty and that actually looks not like not a job but a tourist stroll

The cops moved along the embankment, creating obstacles for other people. They was like an unnecessary demonstration of their superiority over other people. It was possible to move in a column one after another, and the old cop from the side, like soldiers.

If police are known to walk in said area, less riff raff will happen in said area. If people are using that path to commit crimes , knowing that police don't have easy access, this is a deterrent. 90% of policing has nothing to do with the police being present, it has to do with fear of being caught. So however you can foster that, results will follow.

What do you want them to do? Walk in a single-file line? They walked together absolutely no differently than any other group of people. 🤦‍♂
