Eps 8 - Touring Sumbawa - Not the nicest road, but... - Around Indonesia on my Small Motorcycle

- On this episode of my Grand Motorcycle trip around Indonesia, I traveled from the small town of Lunyuk in the south of Sumbawa, to the city of Sumbawa Besar, in the north. I would be lying if I told you the roads were great, because they are anything but. They are filled with pot holes, big chunks of the road are missing here and there, and there are numerous remnants of last rainy season's landslides making me glad that it's now the dry seasson on most of the island. On the other hand, these roads are amazing to ride if you take your time and don't try to break a speed record. Thanks for watching! I’m glad you’re enjoying it. In Sumbawa Besar I stayed at BIS Homestay. It’s on the hill. Very nice comfortable room at a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend it. It’s not luxury. There’s no hot water or breakfast but it’s actually one of the most comfortable rooms I’ve stayed at on this trip, so far, hehe
Sumbawa, no speed, no rainy season. Check. ........The most striking moment in the video was the deafening silence. Priceless.
Yeah. Isn’t it something? You don’t find that silence too often in Jawa.
@@StarkeyFamilyVideos As you have seen s-w Sumbawa is a magnificent part of the world. And you will have it all to yourself. To stand by the side of the road and listen to the birdsong - and nothing else, because there is nothing else - is just so beautiful. I consider myself very lucky to have journeyed to Maluk in 2008 and then, with the aid of locals, get to Lunyuk by motorcycle and on foot. I have been back by motorcycle many times since and I just love it.
Another really enjoyable report on your progress. The peace and beauty of Sumbawa's less travelled roads is food for the spirit. Btw, what is the name of that hotel you stayed at for future reference. There is an excellent bakery, Cipta Sari Bakery, at No 74 Jalan Hasannudin.
