- King Los came through to speak with Shirley Ju about his life and career. He started his life story from the beginning, including growing up in Baltimore. King Los also spoke about being inspired to be a rapper and being offered a deal on Diddy’s “Making the Band,” which he turned down after refusing to sign the contract. Despite not signing the contract, King Los went on to keep a good relationship with Diddy, which led to him working with Bad Boy. King Los then detailed getting the call that Bad Boy was dropping him at the same time the label he was signed to was collapsing. After starting over with his life and career, King Los detailed building his career back up and being reintroduced to Diddy via Cassie and going on to work with Bad Boy yet again. King Los also detailed leaving Bad Boy for RCA, meeting and marrying Lola Monroe, and collaborating with DMX. Being born in Washington DC and raised in PG County, i still don't understand why we seemingly separate ourselves from Baltimore. Don't know why Bmore don't consider themselves part of the DMV. Maybe I'm wrong. But it's in Maryland. Baltimore is literally only 30 mins away from DC and PG. PG County is Maryland like Baltimore is. Any border of PG is only 5-10 mins away from DC. Of course our bad traffic adds on to travel time but y'all get the picture i hope.
The DMV consists of areas connected to the Metro. Baltimore has its own transportation system. -- Plus, it's a 30min drive to the nearest metro, just far enough to be excluded from the DMV area code.
