    That is awesome! Can you build me four of them? Lol😆 This is a great idea because trying to find glass display cases is hard and are very expensive. I think I'm going to try and build one for my diecast construction model collection. Great video and cool collection you have

      Thanks a lot. It's very easy to make and you can match your background and shelf to your collection.

    I love the steel bars idea. I'm going to add those for sure. I put down white eucalyptus fiberboard panels under the shelves to make a clean look for the top and I'm thinking I'll put the reinforcement steel between the the two. Put the panel down first, then the bars so they won't be visible and then the shelf on top. Thanks for this great video man!

    Thank you for the video its always nice to see a person share ideas and not be a gatekeeper ,, How do you overall feel about the weight each shelve can hold ? I’m currently looking into the Dewalt because it has cross beams already,

    • @cosmiccollector7586
      @cosmiccollector7586  Před 3 lety

      I feel a little better with the steel under there. Good thing is that if I add more weight I can add as many steel beams as I want.

      How many statues are you trying to fit in to hold that much extra weight? I got a muscle rack from Home Depot. Each shelf I believe can hold to 800lbs. But let’s say you have a huge 1/4 scale that weighs 170lbs, that’s all your going to be able to fit. Is it necessary to have the extra beam support?
      What I’m trying to figure out is how do you install the backboards to the frame? I went with black foam boards. It’s such a great solution. Lightweight & very clean looking. I don’t know weather to Velcro that as well like the front Plexi glass, or if there is another option that may be better. If you built yours lmk thanks man.

    This video is amazing and so helpful! Was your acrylic cut exactly 36x60 for the front and 18x60 for the sides? My shelves are 3 weeks to backorder but i have the acrylic. Was hoping to get a head start. Thanks for the video!

    • @cosmiccollector7586
      @cosmiccollector7586  Před 3 lety +1

      I'm not home right now to measure it but the total height is 60 inches. I believe the bottom is 28 inches and the top is 26 or so. You can move them up and down. I raised the bottom shelf up so the statues wouldn't look like they're on the floor.
