    As I was driving my c6 yesterday I've noticed the headlights cut out when I punched it, checked under the hood sure enough I got the death wobble. As I'm doing my dd Found your video. You did an awesome job and thank you for all the info you rock 👍

    Duuude doing this too this winter. Nice job on it. I spoke with Lyle at C&S Corvettes and he said the rack doesn't need to come out, only have to lower the cradle to get enough room . I haven't been up there in awhile to check, but it sounds possible bc I hate that dam rack as much as everybody else lol.

      @PNW_Car_Mods  Před 3 lety +3

      Hell yeah Dave. What kit are you going to go with? I love Lyle's videos! There is definitely a bunch of different ways to do this. For me the knocking the rack loose isn't soo bad as I don't have an ABS pump in the engine bay clogging everything up. Just happy to be done with it and still kicking myself for not doing it when I did the cam install the first go around.

      @@YellowVette04 I am going to get the base tune done and work on some of the driveability and fuel trims myself with HP tuners. I won't work on max power until I figure out where to dyno. Even though I live in a county with 1 million people in it there are no close dyno tuners in the area. The guys I normally use are all 2 plus hours away.

    Nice Job Sir. That is a scary Job any way you look at it IMO.... I agree 100%, the rack does not need to come out but I took it out anyways because it makes it much easier to drill, and especially if someone is R&R their balancer at this same time.... How did you torque the bolt down to spec - I am in pretty good shape and getting to the torque required for the new bolt is a JOB!!! You need to seriously consider getting a MaxJax - I promise at middle age your body will THANK you! Keep the vids coming Sir!

    • @PNW_Car_Mods
      @PNW_Car_Mods  Před 3 lety +1

      I have only torqued like 3 LS balancer bolts in my life all Manuals and I have always put the car in 5th gear and either had someone stomp on the brakes or put the rear tires on the floor. I tighten with 200 foot pound torque wrench and if I can get that to click I'll run it there if I need to but before I button it up I switch over to my breaker bar and just pull it as hard as I possibly can and see if I can get it to move anymore beyond where 200 was. So far I've never had one come loose. I would love to have Max Jax but it won't work well in our garage. Garages in this neighborhood are only 20x20 which sucks badly. I could run it but it would turn us into a one car garage and that won't fly with the old lady lol. My ultimate solution is to move away from this crazy state and go somewhere warmer or more mild year round.

    That's gotta be a scary thing, drilling into a hardened crank, trying to split the drill between crank & balancer. All with no room to work. Yikes!!! What brand bit did you use too make it thru that hard steel? Nicely Done! Now I gotta do mine!

    • @PNW_Car_Mods
      @PNW_Car_Mods  Před 3 měsíci

      The pinning kit comes with it's own supplied drill bit and it seemed reasonably sharp. If you were to do this out of the car on a stand it would be a million times easier lol.

      Alberto if you never plan on running any kind of belt driven blower than no you won't gain anything by pinning your balancer.

    • @PNW_Car_Mods

      Yes if you are using an aftermarket balancer you need to put silicone in the keyway. You can do this after it's pressed on.

    • @PNW_Car_Mods
      @PNW_Car_Mods  Před 2 lety

      No you don't need it on the pin. If you are using a new factory bolt you don't need any silicone. Silicone is used for aftermarket balancer bolt that have no seal on their face.
