How does the D9 work in this progression? is it a tritone substitution? How does the A9 work in this progression?

D9=D7(9) = G#+7 (triton substitution) and A9 is.. i don't know i just used it passing chord
and also you can use G# altered scale at D9 , G#+7

@@Moderato-0707 I looked it up and see that it is a secondary dominant substitution technique. Half step from C# is D so you can add the color tones b7 and 9 to get the D9. It is a substitution for G#7
