2nd 1988 "Thursday Night Thunder" USAC Sprint Race at IRP on ESPN-TV

After opening a commanding lead, Steve Butler's right rear wheel fails, sending him into a harrowing spin in the midst of lapped traffic. After receiving a new wheel, Butler charges from last to 3rd in only 11 laps. Greg Stabb goes on to win his first USAC pavement race. Indy Car veterans Rich Vogler, Tom Bigelow, Bob Frey and Billy Vukovich III display their pavement talent for the ESPN cameras.
