This song never fails to make me cry. Me and my dad used to play this game all the time, beat it countless times on end. Found all the hidden 1up’s, beat the game with all the characters different times, mastered the game. And now he’s gone. I still play the streets of rage series to this day, but it’s never easy hearing this part of the OST. Amazing how music in games/films can have such sentimental value and even make you cry. So here’s to the best Axel player I know. Thanks for all the great memories dad.
@@BigMike-td1cz I think Shiva was the biggest wall you could hit in this game, was for me anyway. I swear even as a kid my eyes probably got wide and i was like what the F**K!!!?!?!

This song always stuck with me from childhood. After I lost my sega, I remember trying to hunt down this song in my teen years without any success. This is gonna sound corny as hell but after years of searching, it's like I found the treasure I was looking so hard for. This sweet tune is unforgettable, one of the best melodies and overall compositions I've ever heard. And to think it's all in 16-bit sound!

Had this song stuck in my head the last week, weird how sometimes these pop up. Played this with my brother during the Genesis days and what a time to be alive! Thanks for uploading this.
When I was a kid I used to go to the options screen and the music section and listen to this all the time. It always gave me a mixture of happiness and sadness. I'm in my 30's now and it's still one of my favorite songs ever over 20 years later, it never leaves my mp3 player.
Me and my brother used to play this and I was always skate and my brother was always Max. We beat this game on Mania once, starting with only the default lives. This game is the epitome of teamwork since you could beat the shit out of your homie. Always split extra lives (the hidden ones too). Crazy how this song can gently ease me back into that Nostalgic bliss, and rock my emotions. Yuzo Kushiro ... what a legend.
That’s awesome dude! My sister found her old genesis and she introduced me to this wonderful game when I was young. Because of that, I’m a huge fan and I plan to beat the game on Mania for her one day
Man, me and my first friend use to play this game all the time. I remember always playing Skate and he'd pick Axel. We'd make it like a real journey and voice our characters and shit. Talk about how we'd save my brother Adam and shit. Those were good days, until he went Mr. X on me.
+Lamar Namou amazingly, this was almost exactly the same for me and my brother; well, we didn't voice them, but I would nearly always pick skate and he'd pick axel. crazy, huh? Great game.
+Thomas Strauss same here or we would put the code in so we both be skate. but lets be honest, nobody wanted to be blaze or max slow ass. Took max a hour to get to the end of each stage.
I'd always go Axel and my brother would go either Blaze or Max. This was one of my favorite games growing up and I still sometimes have urges to want to play it to this day. Songs like this just add to it.
I wasn't around when this game came out, but when I bought the Sega Genesis collection for the ps3 and beat Streets of Rage 2, I saw the ending, I said "Well Done". The music, the ending art, the fact of saving Adam (Character from the first game) was just put perfect. The game itself is a good beat em up and a great sequel compared to the first one, and music is outstanding. I rate the game 5/5.
I always remember how good this was as a track for a game back then. They need to make a new Streets of Rage game. Let's start a campaign to get it done!
this tune, the first part it feels like time stops and childhood memories whizz through your brain. its like that every damn time. 16 bit era was special the 90s
Man, after beating the final boss, this music was just so nice to listen to. So much nostalgia from this game. Now I want to play it again. This music is definitely on my top favorite music of games list.
This song reminds me of the days when I had no responsibilities nothing to worry about.just me and the genesis and just the happiness I felt at that moment of being free
34 years old now. Played this on launch on my Megadrive. This ending brings it all back. At my folks, my little nephew was just being born the call came through. He's like 20 now lol damn. Best musical piece in a game of all time....
I am the kind of person who, when he completes a game and gets a triumphant ending theme like this, I become kind of emotional. It's one of the happiest songs I've heard in a game, and it's perfect. Makes me cry every time I hear it, just like Castlevania 4. Awesome!
Same here my friend. All the tunes from the classics will forever be in my head and heart. 29 years old today and I still miss the good old days when life was all about my Sega and SNES. At least we'll always have the music!
